I was having shifting issues with my 04 durango was about to buy a shift solenoid pack $349. Til I saw this video I replaced my speed input/output sensors, and behold it shifts smoothly you don't even feel it shifting. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this video. 😀
I just got my car in a week ago. My 1996 subaru legacy. Wouldn't go faster than 50mph, Rpms would stay steady for about 10mins of running then drop shut off the vehicle and display an engine light and AT oil temp light. Having that replaced has fixed all issues. Typed in my symptoms to google in a million different ways couldnt figure it out, the shop i took it to figured it out in less than an 3hrs after i had it towed there. Runs great now. Wish i would've seen this vid sooner!
Have a 2000 grand Cherokee limited with the 4.7 l power tech and one of my codes is the speed output sensor. All issues you listed she has and it also dips so low in revs it will stall or lose it's gear placement while driving as if it doesn't know how fast it's going and what gear to be in. Hopefully the shop doesn't ask for an insane amount to fix this. Thanks for the info!

2003 F250 SD all the above except no speedometer issues, plus loss of power. Tried to back up on a very slight incline yesterday and it just kinda sit there. Engine revved up but she moved like an old grandma!
I remember finding out about the vehicle speed sensor on my 1999 mercury. It was located left driver side side inside transmission. It was so old I needed to drill out the vss out so I can remove it. Was pretty simple to swap just ont get confused with automatic and manual. I ended up installing a manual vss instead of a automatic
2012 camry 2.5i SE a/t replaced transmission and it worked locally very smooth but when i went over 60mph was hard to change gears. By the way i replaced the transmission because the issue with the torque converter .....
My Jeep is having some of those issues. The hard shift and the delayed shift where it revs higher before shifting. Changing both speed sensors and the pressure sensor today. Then drive it slowly around the block a few times to let the TCM start getting the correct info again. Then drive it carefully for a while to let the whole system relearn everything.
@@luismanuelcruzcruz1172 I tried replacing the sensors but ran into an issue that now I have to take my Jeep to a shop to get them switched out. I'll update when that gets done.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I have a ‘00 bmw 323i and it looses power while I’m driving ( eml and a triangle yellow shape light on dash comes on ) , it gives me some codes that according to them I have to clean the throttle body sensor and after cleaning it , it does the same thing.
Than you very much. This is exactly how my 2000 Nissan exterra is acting. Just finally got a Midas diagnosis and it says speed sensor PO500. Had a very bad bad shade tree mechanic who could not fix this but instead fixing irrelevant things in my exterra. One morning I stopped at the shop he just moved to after he had left the previous shop he worked at. Stopped there that morning and complain to him again that my exterra was shifting bad and gasping fir air especially the RPM going to red. I told him I am afraid to dry it above the red 60 kmph line. Thus shade tree mechanic checked and said he don't fine anything wrong.after reading with a code finding .he even said I can drive pass the red. So I took off rushing to the job site. Speeding and guess what blew my engine. Called him towed it to his place. He said blown engine. I still remember while driving as I passed that 6 to 7 RPM line.like cutting an elastic, so I sat thetr trying to start the car and as I turn my ignition I had a strong trigger explosion. Like some metal piece blowing out of my engine the whole engine jerked up like some kind of bullet jamming in a gun. I am explaining this because my instinct is telling me this mechanic might have threw a piece of metal in my engine just to sarbotage me. Well I didn't know better.towed the car back to his son's shop where he has just moved to.he said you blew the engine.Well if he would half fixed and caught the real read out of a bed sensor .just to make a long story short I bought a new refurbished exterra engine from S&W automotive Atlanta decatur it took this mechanic three and the half weeks to replace the engine. I paid him $600.00 took the truck 4 days after it was leaking ad hehe had put a loose clamp on one of the transmission hose. I had to buy 3 clamps and a hose. After he change them took my Nissan drove to home depot saw big smoke coming into the car from the air vent, guess what when I popped my hood , becon the guy parking next to me, who looked down and told me that my general computer wire was touching my engine and would have smoked out abd burn out damaging everything that computes car guess what .So this mechanic had just clamp the hose next to the wire and let it hang loose. To make a long story short next day my car started leaking oil profusely from the engine pan.so I was directed to a new mechanic who told me that he replace the engine and did not put the valve seal.This new mechanic just put the new valve seal and will be working on putting the speed sensor this morning.
I'm curious did it fix your problem because I have a Dodge Dakota doing the exact same thing it's not throwing any codes and it's not going above 20-25
I have a 2007 Hyundai Azera limited. It was driving normal and out of the blue it started when taking off from a red light. The rpms go high but no acceleration at all I put the pedal to the floor the rpms would shoot up but couldn’t go no more then 25-30mph. Sometimes it won’t move at all now like it’s stuck in neutral. Sometimes if I rev the rpms high long enough it will move but it’s doesn’t slam into the next gear like BOOM!!! The only code that comes up is p0157 which is 02 circuit low voltage (bank 2 , sensor 2). Speed odometer works fine and when it was running it had a rough idle and misfire I fixed that then couple days later now she don’t wanna run no more now when I put it in drive it won’t move and it smells kinda like transmission fluid
2004 Buick Century. speedo started dropping to 0 in motion, followed by a hardshift jolt while shifting. replaced air filter, oil and topped trans fluid because i needed to anyway, then i replaced the MAF sensor, fuel filter, and VSS. buick is way swifter in acceleration from all the new parts. takes longer to start sometimes now, likely due to the new fuel filter, but none of this eliminated the hardshifting. i'm suspecting wiring issues now. got a lot of money into this supposedly easy fix and it's still not fixed. mechanic told me it was instrument cluster and i disagreed. it's either VSS or transmission input/output sensors. no idea.
I got a 1991 Honda Accord and the most the things you said is happening. One more thing that also happens is that my Sport Mode automatically goes on and off
Oh thank you, I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat, and it has almost all of those symptoms, it also will make the engine run a lower idle too, we’re it shouldn’t, anyway have a new transmission speed sensor coming, and I’ll update when I get it installed
This did fix issue, although it still has problems running a good idle but have learn about throttle body adaption so maybe the speed sensor doesn’t mess with that.
I know this is old but I just ran across it. I have a 05 maxima and I get the hard shifting when going from park to drive and also I can feel a thump when it shift when driving. One that is not mentioned that I'm wondering if it has to do with the speed sensor is when I'm sitting at a red light and it changes to green, when I start to accelerate I feel a couple of hesitations before it starts to actually accelerate correctly. Almost like 2 to 3 hiccups before it picks up. I also get the long shift change intrevals
On a dodge charger 2012 would it cause the car not to start? Car has power and will crank manual but won't turn over. Push start does not turn the engine over.
Question, 2014 lexus es350 starts out smooth when in drive, then kicks hard into 2nd gear and all other gears, CEL comes on, track off comes on, no cruise control, speedo works, then at times it shifts sluggish once I start going some more after I stop and it's warmed up. I can't tell, but it looks like my speed sensor is inside the pan. If it is, do u know if it easy to replace. Codes p0793, p0746, p2714. What's your thoughts. Thanks! BTW any chance it can be dirty? If I dropped the pan and cleaned everything down with electrical cleaner, think that may make a difference?
Hey Mitch I have a 2002 Lexus IS300 manual 5 speed transmission. I was cruising down the highway about a month ago and all the sudden my cruise control cut off and the speedometer stopped working. The next day everything worked fine and haven't had a problem since then. Could this possible mean that my speed sensor is going bad and starting to fail?
Hopefully you reply I have a infiniti q50 2015. With about 70k miles I have a speed sensor problem I replaced one and it didn't work. Car only goes up to 30mph and over revs sucks up gas like crazy any help it's also throw off a bunch of other codes but main one is the speed sensor weird thing is I was able to use the manual mode and shift to 6th gear and car was running smooth just not the same power as before any help ?
yep I sold a Cherokee that I thought he trans was shot in ended up being this.. I could kick myself in the ass for that.. Glad I can help someone else not make that mistake.
With all your respect first of all i would to thank U for replying which shows h u care have respect on yr viewers but one question can faulty speed sensor in an automatic trans delay the car from moving after putting the shifter at D by the way reverse works well expect for the delay takes like 10 mins no more
it is Possible because this sensor is used by the computer to assess if the trans is in gear and how fast you are moving. It could also be a problem with the trans itself or the computer ECU. Do you have a check engine light?
I am having some of the same problems with my automatic car. I also have a power steering check light that pops up and and my car keeps locking and unlocking I’m not sure if these are also symptoms of a bad speed sensor
I got a 2000 dodge Dakota r/t. It's been raining for three days and I took her out today and the speedo dropped to 0 and put me in limp mode after 2 min on hw.(1st). I sat on the side of the highway for a few minutes then it let me go through the gears fine again the did it 3x b4 making it home. I'm thinking it's the speed sensor again. I replaced it 4 years ago when it would shift out of first one day and it fixed it. My cruise control is out as well. Thx
I have a 93 Lincoln Mark 8, speedometer works until it gets warm. Then speedometer and odometer stop but that’s the only problem I have. Transmission shifts perfect and cruise control works perfect.

Hi i have 91 gmc suburban 4x4 3/4 ton. When my speedometer starts bouncing around, and shifts weird. BUT ALSO my brake light comes on and my ABS kicks in giving me a hard pedal. Is my older style vss and abs related? Does the abs use my transmission speed sensor to engage the abs? Ive had problems figuring this out. The problem is almost always congruent to each other (trans and speed is off/and abs kicks in together 99 percent of the time) It is also intermittent. Any help would be great
can a bad speed sensor or tone ring cause a car to not leave first gear? My car had an abs misfunction and then a minute later the car wouldn't go above 5 or 10 MPH, I also heard grinding noises when trying to accelerate. I pulled over, turned the car off and back on and then it functioned normally, plugging a scan tool in showed that the car has a problem with a front left speed sensor; both front tone rings are also cracked, which is likely the cause of the braking trouble.

Some of the things you mentioned I'm experiencing ony 2008 Ford e250. From take off through about 40mph it'll intermittently lunge and go into limp mode with dead has pedal most times the wrench 🔧 light comes on . Shift to neutral and cycle key to restart and it's fine once back in gear . Weird idle occasionally when it acts up too . I'm thrown almost 1500$ in parts from ECM throttle body maf acceleration pedal and module unit . Trans fluid and filter air filter only thing left is plugs and coil packs yet I still get the limp mode once a day and also start stall intermittent issue .
I have a 2021 Honda CRV, the dealer is telling me it is the speed sensor issue I'm having. The break system light was on, and scrolling were Migration system issue, cruse control issue, lane departure issue. It also lunged a couple of time, and when I turned the car back on to take it to the dealer, the engine revved as if I was pushing the gas peddle to the floor, but I was not touching it. It does not seem to me that the issues I was having would be associated with the speed sensor - any thoughts, or suggestions please.

Kia Sedona 2.2 crdi, 6speed automatic 2012) : After a long drive, started slipping with a soft rumbling noise, when accelerated, or turning right, when overtakung (RHD) It become so bad, that even in N start doing this noise (sounds like a ball mill) Took it to KIA, of course it was a first time they experienced such a problem, did not know what to do.... Oil level and quality was fine No any eror codes reported, related to the gearbox Eventually the adaptive shifting was reset through KDS (kia diagnostic system....) and the problem has gone. After 10Kkm it appeared again, I was away from Kia, and while driving slowly to them, tried manual mode with full revs auto shift up, the problem disappeared after sequencing the gears from 3 to 5.....(6 did not whant to switch, as would require 180+ km/h) And so on, for the third time after another 2000km, fixed it again with auto shift up in manual mode.... The noise is soft/dull rumbling. Vehicle is at 155Kkm (aprox. 100K miles) Got some ATF to refresh, although according to service manual is "filled for life" Any thoughts?!? 🤔 Thanks in advance

I have a 2010 Chevy cobalt and for a few weeks now my car after about 15 min driving, will yes make a huge thud when driving from 1 to second gear. Once I’m cruising above second gear, it’s not a problem. It occurs only when I make a full stop, and then drive to second gear. Also when I shift from Drive-to reverse, or vice versa, it makes a huge pop as well. Mechanics have checked everything from the actual transmission, the battery etc and could not find anything. But this is the only thing I’ve found so far where it describes my issue to the T.
i got a 2004 nissan titan throwing a bcm code as well as a speed sensor and my truck will not shift past 3rd most of the time the other morning taking it to get code read it shifted all through gears until i went up a hill then it down shifted back to third and stayed there the rest of the afternoon. is it possible my speed sensor is doing this to my titan it did throw a speed sensor code

My 2005 Nissan Tiida with cvt was accelerating very high and grabbing speed very slowly and hardly reaches 60kmph speed with full throttle. So I have cleaned the two transmission filters which are fully clogged and have put new oil. It ran like new for one month and today on every stop light its taking 5 seconds to move and starts to move slowly and doesn’t accelerate with half throttle. After grabbing 1pkmph speed it jumps to 60kmph in 5 seconds. Please help.
I Had my 98 Mark VIII in the shop for a VSS replacement and my light stayed off and I even drove 30ish miles and it passed emissions. Anyways a few days later I drove to work and once I got onto the freeway a check transmission message came and the ODoff light came on flashing. I was able to shift from OD to D n problem. I turned it off for 10 minutes and turned it on no more light or message. Then I tried using cruise control then it disengaged randomly. I kept trying to turn it on but it would turn off instantly then my check engine light came on. Could it be the transmission output shaft sensor?
I think this is an issue I'm having with my 2006 Ford Freestyle. Recently having a couple of issues described here. But was wondering if other issue is related. When driving, the guages would occassionally shut off and all the warning lights come on. (Happen 3-4 times per year maybe). When it does this it drives fine until I get my guages back, then it drives like it has a choke or transmission problem. When my son kicks the panel under the glove box, it fixes the problem for a time. Any thoughts?
hi have 2005 pilot all the lights came on including Green D shift hard to 1st gear wont go past third had it scanned by my mechanic po717 sent me to tranny shop so i had my son replace the speed sensor to see if that takes care of it still doing it. after disconnecting battery will drive normal for like 1/4 mile than all the lights come back on. think its a harness issue? where does that harness go to from the speed sensor? please advise

Had a Water hose leak that leaked over the sensor; got a d4 steady light and hard shifting, sometimes it will shift to low gear. The feed harness looks bad but how can I change this. Replacing the speed sensor would be fruitless if the power harness is corroded, would it not. I hope I can use a contact cleaner without having to swap it out with a new one, if they sale it. I may have to splice with used one at the junk yard Appreciate your video and hope this solves the problem. 1993 Honda Accord I found a Dorman pig tail to replace the power source connection for 11.00 US dollars on Amazon.
It is hard to shift down gear we go from 30 mph to like 15 in seconds and it is making a loud noise is this the speed thing or the transmission its self

Then drive it slowly around the block a few times to let the TCM start getting the correct info again. Then drive it carefully for a while to let the whole system relearn everything.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I have a ‘00 bmw 323i and it looses power while I’m driving ( eml and a triangle yellow shape light on dash comes on ) , it gives me some codes that according to them I have to clean the throttle body sensor and after cleaning it , it does the same thing.

Than you very much. This is exactly how my 2000 Nissan exterra is acting. Just finally got a Midas diagnosis and it says speed sensor PO500. Had a very bad bad shade tree mechanic who could not fix this but instead fixing irrelevant things in my exterra. One morning I stopped at the shop he just moved to after he had left the previous shop he worked at. Stopped there that morning and complain to him again that my exterra was shifting bad and gasping fir air especially the RPM going to red. I told him I am afraid to dry it above the red 60 kmph line. Thus shade tree mechanic checked and said he don't fine anything wrong.after reading with a code finding .he even said I can drive pass the red. So I took off rushing to the job site. Speeding and guess what blew my engine. Called him towed it to his place. He said blown engine. I still remember while driving as I passed that 6 to 7 RPM line.like cutting an elastic, so I sat thetr trying to start the car and as I turn my ignition I had a strong trigger explosion. Like some metal piece blowing out of my engine the whole engine jerked up like some kind of bullet jamming in a gun. I am explaining this because my instinct is telling me this mechanic might have threw a piece of metal in my engine just to sarbotage me. Well I didn't know better.towed the car back to his son's shop where he has just moved to.he said you blew the engine.Well if he would half fixed and caught the real read out of a bed sensor .just to make a long story short I bought a new refurbished exterra engine from S&W automotive Atlanta decatur it took this mechanic three and the half weeks to replace the engine. I paid him $600.00 took the truck 4 days after it was leaking ad hehe had put a loose clamp on one of the transmission hose. I had to buy 3 clamps and a hose. After he change them took my Nissan drove to home depot saw big smoke coming into the car from the air vent, guess what when I popped my hood , becon the guy parking next to me, who looked down and told me that my general computer wire was touching my engine and would have smoked out abd burn out damaging everything that computes car guess what .So this mechanic had just clamp the hose next to the wire and let it hang loose. To make a long story short next day my car started leaking oil profusely from the engine pan.so I was directed to a new mechanic who told me that he replace the engine and did not put the valve seal.This new mechanic just put the new valve seal and will be working on putting the speed sensor this morning.

Before my transmission went out (while driving) it was flashing the neutral position. Gears just buzz when changing with the key to on position.
I have a 2007 Hyundai Azera limited. It was driving normal and out of the blue it started when taking off from a red light. The rpms go high but no acceleration at all I put the pedal to the floor the rpms would shoot up but couldn’t go no more then 25-30mph. Sometimes it won’t move at all now like it’s stuck in neutral. Sometimes if I rev the rpms high long enough it will move but it’s doesn’t slam into the next gear like BOOM!!! The only code that comes up is p0157 which is 02 circuit low voltage (bank 2 , sensor 2). Speed odometer works fine and when it was running it had a rough idle and misfire I fixed that then couple days later now she don’t wanna run no more now when I put it in drive it won’t move and it smells kinda like transmission fluid
2004 Buick Century. speedo started dropping to 0 in motion, followed by a hardshift jolt while shifting. replaced air filter, oil and topped trans fluid because i needed to anyway, then i replaced the MAF sensor, fuel filter, and VSS. buick is way swifter in acceleration from all the new parts. takes longer to start sometimes now, likely due to the new fuel filter, but none of this eliminated the hardshifting. i'm suspecting wiring issues now. got a lot of money into this supposedly easy fix and it's still not fixed. mechanic told me it was instrument cluster and i disagreed. it's either VSS or transmission input/output sensors. no idea.
2001 Ranger 4.0 V6 SOHC hard shift from 1-2. Picking the sensor up right now. Hopefully that’ll do. Thanks!

Oh thank you, I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat, and it has almost all of those symptoms, it also will make the engine run a lower idle too, we’re it shouldn’t, anyway have a new transmission speed sensor coming, and I’ll update when I get it installed

This did fix issue, although it still has problems running a good idle but have learn about throttle body adaption so maybe the speed sensor doesn’t mess with that.
I know this is old but I just ran across it. I have a 05 maxima and I get the hard shifting when going from park to drive and also I can feel a thump when it shift when driving. One that is not mentioned that I'm wondering if it has to do with the speed sensor is when I'm sitting at a red light and it changes to green, when I start to accelerate I feel a couple of hesitations before it starts to actually accelerate correctly. Almost like 2 to 3 hiccups before it picks up. I also get the long shift change intrevals

On a dodge charger 2012 would it cause the car not to start? Car has power and will crank manual but won't turn over. Push start does not turn the engine over.

Question, 2014 lexus es350 starts out smooth when in drive, then kicks hard into 2nd gear and all other gears, CEL comes on, track off comes on, no cruise control, speedo works, then at times it shifts sluggish once I start going some more after I stop and it's warmed up. I can't tell, but it looks like my speed sensor is inside the pan. If it is, do u know if it easy to replace. Codes p0793, p0746, p2714. What's your thoughts. Thanks! BTW any chance it can be dirty? If I dropped the pan and cleaned everything down with electrical cleaner, think that may make a difference?
Hey Mitch I have a 2002 Lexus IS300 manual 5 speed transmission. I was cruising down the highway about a month ago and all the sudden my cruise control cut off and the speedometer stopped working. The next day everything worked fine and haven't had a problem since then. Could this possible mean that my speed sensor is going bad and starting to fail?

Car only goes up to 30mph and over revs sucks up gas like crazy any help it's also throw off a bunch of other codes but main one is the speed sensor weird thing is I was able to use the manual mode and shift to 6th gear and car was running smooth just not the same power as before any help ?

it is Possible because this sensor is used by the computer to assess if the trans is in gear and how fast you are moving. It could also be a problem with the trans itself or the computer ECU. Do you have a check engine light?
Well made a computer test and the result was vss sensor
As for shifting it fine but the problem lies on the starting on the car and computer test revealed is vss sensor

I have a 93 Lincoln Mark 8, speedometer works until it gets warm. Then speedometer and odometer stop but that’s the only problem I have. Transmission shifts perfect and cruise control works perfect.

Hi i have 91 gmc suburban 4x4 3/4 ton. When my speedometer starts bouncing around, and shifts weird. BUT ALSO my brake light comes on and my ABS kicks in giving me a hard pedal. Is my older style vss and abs related? Does the abs use my transmission speed sensor to engage the abs? Ive had problems figuring this out. The problem is almost always congruent to each other (trans and speed is off/and abs kicks in together 99 percent of the time)

can a bad speed sensor or tone ring cause a car to not leave first gear? My car had an abs misfunction and then a minute later the car wouldn't go above 5 or 10 MPH, I also heard grinding noises when trying to accelerate. I pulled over, turned the car off and back on and then it functioned normally, plugging a scan tool in showed that the car has a problem with a front left speed sensor; both front tone rings are also cracked, which is likely the cause of the braking trouble.

Some of the things you mentioned I'm experiencing ony 2008 Ford e250. From take off through about 40mph it'll intermittently lunge and go into limp mode with dead has pedal most times the wrench 🔧 light comes on . Shift to neutral and cycle key to restart and it's fine once back in gear . Weird idle occasionally when it acts up too . I'm thrown almost 1500$ in parts from ECM throttle body maf acceleration pedal and module unit . Trans fluid and filter air filter only thing left is plugs and coil packs yet I still get the limp mode once a day and also start stall intermittent issue .
I have a 2021 Honda CRV, the dealer is telling me it is the speed sensor issue I'm having. The break system light was on, and scrolling were Migration system issue, cruse control issue, lane departure issue. It also lunged a couple of time, and when I turned the car back on to take it to the dealer, the engine revved as if I was pushing the gas peddle to the floor, but I was not touching it. It does not seem to me that the issues I was having would be associated with the speed sensor - any thoughts, or suggestions please.

After a long drive, started slipping with a soft rumbling noise, when accelerated, or turning right, when overtakung (RHD)
It become so bad, that even in N start doing this noise (sounds like a ball mill)
Took it to KIA, of course it was a first time they experienced such a problem, did not know what to do....
Oil level and quality was fine
No any eror codes reported, related to the gearbox
Eventually the adaptive shifting was reset through KDS (kia diagnostic system....) and the problem has gone.
After 10Kkm it appeared again, I was away from Kia, and while driving slowly to them, tried manual mode with full revs auto shift up, the problem disappeared after sequencing the gears from 3 to 5.....(6 did not whant to switch, as would require 180+ km/h)
And so on, for the third time after another 2000km, fixed it again with auto shift up in manual mode....
The noise is soft/dull rumbling.
Vehicle is at 155Kkm (aprox. 100K miles) Got some ATF to refresh, although according to service manual is "filled for life"

Does a faulty wheel sensor cause the parking brake light to come on sometimes?. I have a 2013 Veloster with a rear right wheel speed sensor faulty. I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu and it will drive okay for a few minutes then it down shifts by it’s self and won’t get out of first gear and it will lunge and the speedometer will jump as long as the rpm it also shows your going 0 mph

I have a 2010 Chevy cobalt and for a few weeks now my car after about 15 min driving, will yes make a huge thud when driving from 1 to second gear. Once I’m cruising above second gear, it’s not a problem. It occurs only when I make a full stop, and then drive to second gear. Also when I shift from Drive-to reverse, or vice versa, it makes a huge pop as well. Mechanics have checked everything from the actual transmission, the battery etc and could not find anything. But this is the only thing I’ve found so far where it describes my issue to the T.

i got a 2004 nissan titan throwing a bcm code as well as a speed sensor and my truck will not shift past 3rd most of the time the other morning taking it to get code read it shifted all through gears until i went up a hill then it down shifted back to third and stayed there the rest of the afternoon. is it possible my speed sensor is doing this to my titan it did throw a speed sensor code

My 2005 Nissan Tiida with cvt was accelerating very high and grabbing speed very slowly and hardly reaches 60kmph speed with full throttle. So I have cleaned the two transmission filters which are fully clogged and have put new oil. It ran like new for one month and today on every stop light its taking 5 seconds to move and starts to move slowly and doesn’t accelerate with half throttle. After grabbing 1pkmph speed it jumps to 60kmph in 5 seconds. Please help.
I Had my 98 Mark VIII in the shop for a VSS replacement and my light stayed off and I even drove 30ish miles and it passed emissions. Anyways a few days later I drove to work and once I got onto the freeway a check transmission message came and the ODoff light came on flashing. I was able to shift from OD to D n problem. I turned it off for 10 minutes and turned it on no more light or message. Then I tried using cruise control then it disengaged randomly. I kept trying to turn it on but it would turn off instantly then my check engine light came on. Could it be the transmission output shaft sensor?
I think this is an issue I'm having with my 2006 Ford Freestyle. Recently having a couple of issues described here. But was wondering if other issue is related. When driving, the guages would occassionally shut off and all the warning lights come on. (Happen 3-4 times per year maybe). When it does this it drives fine until I get my guages back, then it drives like it has a choke or transmission problem. When my son kicks the panel under the glove box, it fixes the problem for a time. Any thoughts?
hi have 2005 pilot all the lights came on including Green D shift hard to 1st gear wont go past third had it scanned by my mechanic po717 sent me to tranny shop so i had my son replace the speed sensor to see if that takes care of it still doing it. after disconnecting battery will drive normal for like 1/4 mile than all the lights come back on. think its a harness issue? where does that harness go to from the speed sensor? please advise

Had a Water hose leak that leaked over the sensor; got a d4 steady light and hard shifting, sometimes it will shift to low gear. The feed harness looks bad but how can I change this. Replacing the speed sensor would be fruitless if the power harness is corroded, would it not. I hope I can use a contact cleaner without having to swap it out with a new one, if they sale it. I may have to splice with used one at the junk yard
