When the P0720 code is detected, the check engine soon warning light will likely illuminate. The vehicle will also may have engine and transmission issues, including an inability to shift, a harsh shift feel, an erratic or malfunctioning speedometer, hesitation and misfiring from the engine, and potentially stalling

Thanks for the video.. now you showed exactly what I explained to the service advisor.. friggin idiot told me that I didn't know about my truck .drove 48 miles hwy speeds 70mph no problem .parked Vehicle for about 30-40 min.restarted Vehicle would not shift out of 2nd on a hot engine after stopping .Engine would not reave even though I had my foot to the floor. No check engine light.was only able to drive 30 mph ..But after sitting overnight transmission shifted perfectly. .. I told service advisor to have tech check input and output sensors prior to running a transmission test. Just because I am a woman he thinks I am a idiot. Was a tech for decades when I was young and cute haha now gray and old mist be dementia. Glad you put the video out proves me right. Your Awesome. 😮

For those interested. I believe the socket size is a 25mm metric but a 1" standard depth 12 point socket works. It's just a little loose but does the job.

When you disconnect the battery the check engine light goes off because you cleared the codes not necessary because you fixed the problem.

Just some advice for next time, it would be nice to if you would explain what size socket (unless I missed it) why you waited to turn it over and what are you looking for that changed while taking it for a test drive (if anything else besides the light) Other than that! Keep up the good work, seriously!!

Thank You for the video..very helpful..I need advice on a 2003 dodge caravan SE 3.3 engine..v6 cylinders..about 2 days ago I had the Transmission Control Module replace..due to the my car scanner kept giving me the code for a TCM..I've had the part for awhile .. I couldn't afford to replace it..anyways I finally got it replace..I figured the engine check light would go off ..NO!!! It didn't.. As I was leaving the mechanic's I noticed the engine check light on again..they asked if had an issue.. I said yes..the light didn't go off.. They put the scanner back on.. Got code p0725.. The mechanic told me it was.. Crankshaft sensor.. I went to purchase it..went back yesterday they out it on..here I am thinking..everything should be ok..NO!!! Check engine light back on 5mins after taking it for a test drive..🙄.. I wasn't charged for the work that was done..they want to return back Mon or Tuesday so they can put it on a big computer scanner..to see what is the problem ..before I throw anymore money away..could the issue be the input/output sensors..since the TCM has been changed & crankshaft too & light is still on.. Its also keeping me from smogging my van...also when they changed TCM..they were going to charged me for oil..since the TCM leaks oil out...the main mechanic told me that..could he been talking about the sensors leaking oil & not the TCM..🙄

I noticed you waited until the vehicle stop chiming to crank the car. Is that how we're supposed to be cranking cars? I just stick my key in and go. Just had to replace a fuel pump too so when I seen you pause before you crank I'm thinking maybe that's what I need to start doing

What kind of Dodge is this . Appears to be a 4x4 truck by the driveshaft next to the transmission. Im trying to research where the speedo sensor is on a 2009 charger. Appears to need all four wheel sensors and ABS module. But at the moment not concerned about the ABS Only need the speedo to work and hoping that will allow the transmission to shift from 1-2. . Would this be the transmission output sensor?

I have a dodge 2006 sprinter van that's kicking out a P0717 code. Apparently this is a transmission input speed sensor failure code.
I can not find this part. Even Dodge can not help me.
Do you perhaps know the part number?
Are the input and output sensors the same?
    Thank you in advance.

I got to do it twice as the first one I got from Auto Zone was bad and totally failed in one day, I replaced it Friday night but Saturday morning it wasn't working completely right and by the time I drove 40 miles my wait to start light came on telling me I was in limp mode, Then Sunday morning if would do over 20 mph till I restarted it then it shifted so I was going to go get one after I got home from Church and couldn't get it over 20 mph so got a ride to get another one, everything is made in china, at least the second one is doing better so far, so you might have to get two before you fix it

I think when I did mine , a 25mm socket impact because it had more room and it ended up working. I did it on a 01 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0l it was super easy. Honestly it has a little magnet in side and if the old one was cleaned off it probably would have fixed it. But the new one was like 20 bucks I just use it.
