The thing that really bothered me is that they didnt put Any house wrap back on the gable end where the new addition started. I'm kinda shocked that they didnt edit that back out. Siding over bare osb is not to code which makes me wonder how many more corners were cut. For those who dont know, Osb (oriented strand board) is basically garbage after it gets wet. It's a bargain version of plywood that's really only useful for exterior sheathing if its covered with housewrap(tyvek or similar ) before water can get to it.

Awesome work, I should be uploading my guest house construction footage soon. Thanks for inspiring me.

I am curious about this, too. We need a little more space so I wonder...is it just cheaper to move to another house or is adding on cost-effective?

To be honest, I would not feel comfortable support that second story with those three posts. There is no shear support there.

My exact thought also. I wonder what state their in? Here in Seattle those supports would not be sufficient.

I definitely agree. and it's so ugly for the neighbors. If i lived next to them I would sneak over in the middle of the night with a massive chainsaw. the whole thing would be gone in 2 minutes tops. serves there right for building an unsafe eyesore
