Found your page looking for tips on restoring the gelcoat on my boat and now watch them for the enjoyment and listening to how God is doing work in peoples lives. To God be the Glory!
Welcome aboard! I’m very glad you found my videos. May God bless you! 😎💯
Dude this style of video is amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I love your high production professionally edited videos as well but this one was super informative and linear to retaining skills/information. Keep at it brother, you have no idea how many people you’ve helped. I just took the jump and started my own marine detailing company and you’ve really helped me build the confidence to know I can make my company successful. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos and the time as well!
I appreciate that! Thanks so much for watching👍🏻😎
Drake I’m so proud to watch you and learn from you it’s an honor. I live in Dunedin fl. I wish I could have met you when you were here. We know some of the same people wish I could have really talked with though. Love to see how gods worked in your life and hod bless you my friend
Hey bro! I’m actually back living in Florida, I moved back about a year ago
Man would love to come spend a day or 2 with Mr. Miyagi. Of boat’s. Hopefully you’ll be doing a class soon for Floridians or the surrounding area of Pensacola. I’m a life time believer in the scripture baptized in a church but lost my way until the last couple weeks something been missing and I thinks it has been him the whole time
This is Craig in Redding. My boat still looks new. People tell me there's no way it's 30 years old. Thanks. Your brother and his wife did my truck
Awesome man! Thanks for the kind words!
It's aewsome that you are back on the east coast , teaching the you guys our trade!
😎🔥🔥👍🏻
Such a great message at the end. Didn't expect it but so very glad to hear of a young man becoming saved!
Thanks for your kind words 😊
Amen brother. All Glory to God. Big shout out to Drakes Detailing. I started watching you way back in Florida brother. Keep living for the Lord and putting out content
Will do! Thanks bro!
I’ve been working on boats for a while and he’s right about the wet sanding and dry sanding. Dry sanding is the way to go.
Absolutely!😎💯
Really like your videos very educational love the fact you all praised the father almighty
I appreciate that!! Amen!
awesome man, very good tips and im really happy to keep following your videos, your progress and its beautiful you sharing good things with others! God bless you and your family, your finances and everything in your life!!
I appreciate that! Thanks so much for following!
Love the tips but the testimony was best !!!!!
I’m kinda speechless lol
Glad you liked it!!
This video was amazing and I’m grateful to be able to see it after a long day at my job. Much love from the Bahamas 🇧🇸 ❤
Thanks brother!
I am taking a trip to the Bahamas this week on a cruise! 💯💯
@@DrakesDetailing great 👍 I hope you enjoy it and hopefully one day you choose to come to the family islands
God gave you the knowledge and capability to teach others, the boat turned out amazing, I love it 👍😁❤️
Thanks so much! 😎💯
Absolutely love this guy
Thanks! Haha
Excellent as usual Drake!
Appreciate that!! 💯😎
Keep on inspiring legend!
Thanks!
I’ve been watching a ton getting ready to do our 26 key west with ice blue hull here in Pensacola. Hull has very minimal oxidation in some areas only with some shine looking down the hull but is dull looking straight on. After watching all your videos and browsing the hull truth I think my plan is a yellow wool pad on a rotary then orange and white pads on the max shine da for polish and wax or seal, will probably use jescar powe luck. Could you suggest which shine supply product(s) might suit my plan? Thanks for putting your expertise out there! Edit: looks like my answer might be in the description!
Chop top for sure. You can use it for compounding and polishing.
Hey bro, it’s just has mild oxidation and you want to use a yellow wall pad, chop top will be perfect! Then polish with Burn Out and seal it up with Jescar. Don’t hesitate to use my discount code at checkout. It’s: DRAKE15

@@DrakesDetailing right on! It’s so cool you reply to everyone, thanks man.
hey drake just a question. does yellow wool pad and orange lake country pad serve the same purpose with removing holograms?
Not entirely, the yellow pad is made to breakdown and smooth out from the heavy, cutting white wall pad step. Then the orange pad is made to remove the holograms and swell marsh completely from both of those two steps.
How many hours do you have invested in just the top side looking at doing a carver in much similar condition thanks again Drake always appreciate the time you spend on making these videos take care
At least a couple of days just on the topside, wanted to make this job perfect 👍🏻
Thanks again
great video Drake 💪
Glad you enjoyed! What about it stood out the most to you?
How do you clean the trim tabs and any trick in keeping the zebra mussels off of the tabs?
If the boat has been in the water and has a lot of growth and zebra muscles and the trim tips, I would use muriatic acid. Spray it on in a pump sprayer, let’s sit, then rinse off with a pressure washer. Please use protection, such as respirator and gloves, as that stuff is pretty nasty.
What would it take to spend a day with you like these guys? I own a Mobile Detailing business in Charlotte but I need to perfect my boat detailing skills
Hey bro! Can you message me on my Instagram? @drakes.detailing
Thanks!
Hey Drake, can you use chop top as a polish? If I wanted to use 1 product after a medium cut and before a wax what should I go with? Also, is it worth using an Si02 spray if I am not ceramic coating? For example if I am using Jescar wax, would it be worth using an si02 protectant spray as well? I appreciate any feedback!
Also- a baseline product sequence video would be awesome!
Hey bro, absolutely you can use it as a Chop Top as a polish. Si02 definitely does help with the protection and adds to the sealant. 😎
When dry sanding , I use a white scotch brite sand pad to clean out my dry sanding da paper.😊
Nice, thanks for the tip!
Hey Drake...i got one question that really i cant find a way to fix....so you do boats and a lot...and i was never taught just had a talent .i did only maybe 60 70 boats last season...its all fresh water in the Poconos...here is my question....did you ever run into seat vinyl that looked orangish color...it never comes off..it to me looks to be a result of the boat cover being to tight after its snapped on...no air plus heat...have you ever removed it...i seen people on here sanding it....that is out of the question for me..i wet sand gel coat thats it..
Hey bro, I’m a little confused by your question, but if I think it’s what you’re asking me, you only wet sand gelcoat. Nothing else on a boat can be wet sanded. Definitely do not attempt to sand vinyl with sandpaper.
@@DrakesDetailing yes dumb people on here do...i dont sand vinyl...its that orange to pinkish red stains on the seats...i cant remove it..tried .but no luck .i was hoping you ran into thats...i think its from the heat and moisture when the cover snaps on and covers the seats.. it only turns orange where the cover touches the seat..... So yeah my question would be have you ever dealt with that before and been successful at removing it .
What DA are you using for waxing? As the ones in your notes are not available any longer. Thank!

Would you say menzerna 400 is similar to the product your using on your second step?
Yes it’s very similar both are great products
great testimonial from that you man and could not be happier that he turned his life over to Jesus ! That boat looks fantastic and would have loved to see his reaction ! Good job boys !
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much!
What would be the best way to remove registration numbers that have been on a boat for 23 years I already have the letters removed but they’re impregnated into the fiberglass?
You will need to wet sand them out. Pull the numbers off, wet sand with 1000 grit, then 2000 grit, then heavy compound to remove the sanding marks.
@@DrakesDetailing
Thank you Drake for taking time out and answering my question, keep up the great work and the videos they’re awesome!
Hey can you link the sanding gear please.
I’ve recently been using the Sunmight brand sanding discs. They’ve been awesome so far. www.sunmightusa.com/products/sun-discs
appreciate this video most at 27:45
😎😎
Can you use a force rotation for applying wax? Im thinking about skipping the da and just getting a flex
using a forced rotation to apply the wax would probably be overkill and you'd be working extra hard in doing so
@@johnnycaretaker848 thanks man, I've only ever used a makita and waxed by hand. It seems to me that the only difference between the force and da is that DA'S will stall out with too much pressure. I don't understand why the force rotation wouldn't work as well as the DA so that I wouldn't need to buy an extra machine
You can definitely use a force rotation to apply wax, you can also use a DA polisher, which would be much more conducive to do so.
@@DrakesDetailing thanks man, God bless you
It was my first year last year doing it...
👍🏻😎
@@DrakesDetailing i owe my success to you..and i tell my clients that if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here today... I feel that you need to hear it from the people you have helped.. my family and I are very grateful for your videos and your help here and throughout the last year or so.. being I am the only person on the lake that details I could probably have about 30,000 boats ... I'm always solidly booked... So I owe everything to you... much respect man..
How come you always use single sided pads now?
I have about 200 of them in stock! I rather the double side though 💯 either one will get the job done 🤘
How can someone train with you?
