    Good video, but the one thing I usually see omitted from this kind of ruling discussion is that monsters sent to the grave under these cards are NOT considered having been sent by a card effect. Much like Evenly Matched or Trickstar Light Stage, the cards are moved by player actions.

    and of course this will apply to the next version of those type of cards we get and yes i think we will

    gozen / same attribute type
    there can be only one / only 1 monster type each

    I'm really glad you made a video on that topic because I had a rare situation regarding there can be only one while playing with a friend the other day.
    He played mathmechs and activated mathmech superfactorial. I chained tcboo and we had absolutely no idea how the mathmech trap would resolve since it attempts to special summon up to 3 mathmech monsters and immediately synch/xyz them away.
    How would that interaction resolve?

    • @alexcowan7773
      @alexcowan7773 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they would hit the field and be sent to grave if they don't correspond to the floodgates limitation. The floodgate would take precedence over the extra deck play because its continuous. And if you had any monsters left then you could attempt to special summon

    • @jofx4051
      @jofx4051 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What my logic says is this
      You can only control one monster of that type so if they resolve sucessfully, they would summon up to 3 monsters in GY then cannot go to ED cause of TCBOO effect is already applied
      Then that player should send other 2 Mathmech monsters until he controls exactly 1 monster of each type
      I tested it too for puzzle so I have that video to attach (record it on my phone so sorry it is not too good):
      imgur.com/a/vdLevUc
      Also if ur opp already control a Mathmech monster then ur opp activate Superfactorial then u chain TCBOO then they cannot summon anything from GY after TCBOO effect is applied

Player A attempts to activate effect of Skipper to change its own attribute from LIGHT to FIRE. Since the effect has no activation requirements/cost, will Formud Skipper turn FIRE? If so, will Player A be able to choose to send either Skipper or Nibiru?

    Didn’t touch on chaining these traps to cards that special summon while there’s a monster on the field but I guess it should be common knowledge

    • @Dinosaurman34
      @Dinosaurman34 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I imagine that if a monster special summon is chain one and one of these traps is chain two, the trap resolves (and since it doesn’t go to an open game state until after the chain resolves) the monster may be special summoned and is then put under the effect of the trap.
      Either causing the special summon to immediately fail or it hits the field and then the opponent chooses what to get rid of.
      Probably an issue that would differ from judge to judge but that’s my two cents on the issue.

      If they have a Water target in their deck, they have to summon it, if they don't, they can't summon anything.
      The "summon 2 then send 1 to GY" only applies when 2 or more monsters are summoned at the same time. Noodle only sommons one.
      If you actitvate it at resolution of the summon (after they already have summoned) they will have to choose 1 to send to GY.

    Here to vent. I wish they'd update the card ruling. If you tribute or Extra Deck summon using all your monsters of 1 attribute so that after you tribute or summon to only control 1 attribute, you should be allowed to proceed. Gozen Match is good only because of a weird ruling not because 1 attribute = omni floodgate. "Each player can only CONTROL 1 attribute of a monster" When you tribute monsters for a normal or special summon YOU DON'T CONTROL THEM ANYMORE :) But hey lets restrict players to construct decks based on the archetypes we want so we can make more money, genius.

    I figured the video about TCBOO is the best place to ask a question about an interaction that baffled me when it happened in Master Duel. The simple situation is, my opponent had TCBOO active, and I had Superheavy Samurai Battleball. It's important text says "You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that has a Level; send both it and this card from the field to the Graveyard, then Special Summon from your Extra Deck 1 "Superheavy Samurai" Synchro Monster whose Level equals the total original Levels of those 2 monsters in the Graveyard." The choice for what monster to summon does not happen until after Battleball is already in the grave, since the effect is checking its level *in grave*, so why does TCBOO still stop its effect from being activated?

    • @Headbanger9000

    • @BabsScriven
      @BabsScriven 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Headbanger9000 Jesus that is the absolute rudest way I've seen someone not answer a question. I know what a floodgate is. I'm asking about one very specific interaction. It's not like I asked "why can't I special summon a monster while Vanity's Emptiness is active??" I asked why I can't summon a machine under TCBOO when my field is going to be empty.

    • @BabsScriven
      @BabsScriven 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that if I have a machine out, I can't, say, link it off for a machine link monster, because I chose what to summon while the material is still on field. That makes sense. But I do not choose what to summon with Battleball until my field is already empty. It hits the grave, then the levels are checked, and my choices are the monsters of the correct level. I do not have any monsters on field, I do not understand why TCBOO stops this.

      @@BabsScriven sorry if I was rude. The reason is because TCBOO has a permanant check. Meaning it is always checking the field and players through all phases of each players turn. The card recognizes that you had one type of monster already. You send it to the GY as cost to special summon a monster of a different type than what you already had on the field at the very start of your draw phase. Basically negating the effect of your monster that was sent to GY. Hope that clarifies things!

    Ive got a ruling question: My opponent has Constellar Diamond on field can I activate reasoning? In Utrecht this year a judge ruled it this way:
    Since there is a possibility of me picking a correct level and that card being the first card excavated i can activate reasoning. If i pick wrong or the correct level is later down my deck i just keep excavating normally. Now when it comes to sending those cards. Since i cant do that under diamond i just simply take that pile and put it unshuffled on my deck again 🤯
    Ist that correct?

      You cannot activate Reasoning since you can't send card from deck to GY (see the ruling Reasoning against Dimension Fortrees)
      Even if you may correctly excavate the correct card; this card still have effect to send cards from deck to GY
      That Constellar Diamond prevents such cards to be activated

      Pikachu LP. Each part of the effect has to be possible to resolve. If sending from deck gets blocked then you cannot activate reasoning because it’s part of the effect even if it’s possible to not send cards by reasoning.
      Example: if a card has to be sent to the grave by cost or effect and makrocosmos is on the field then you cannot attempt to activate a card which would do that.

      If the monster has an effect that activates, you will be forced to send monsters to the grave until you control only 1 type/ attribute before that effect is allowed to activate, and if you choose to send that monster, its effect will not activate in TCG-NA regions, as it is no longer face-up on the field.
      IF the monster has a continuous effect, that effect will apply immediately and you will not be forced to send any monster to the grave.

      @@cbrycem In TCG-NA regions (and more recently OCG regions), cards must remain in the location their trigger effect would activate for that trigger effect to activate. Under Rivalry/Gozen if multiple types/attributes are summoned simultaneously to an empty side of the field, a number of them will be sent to the graveyard immediately after the chain link resolves (or immediately after the pendulum summon) before any other card effect is allowed to activate.
