I'm 45 years old. Always was afraid of skateboards. I thought would be impossible to ride one day!
One day I went surfing and I saw a girl riding a 5 foot skate longboard at the beach. So I bought trucks and made one for myself. Now I skate and I'm getting better everyday. Thanks to your awesome videos I just bought myself a nickel board. Im so happy I did!
I'm getting better and training for that penny!

If you don't enjoy riding the 22 inch anymore but like the design/ overall feel of it, then yup go for it. There are also some other solid options for cruisers if you want to try something different... like the Landyachtz Dinghy. I have that and it's a fun board, but is different bc it has a wooden deck

  • @mannygomez6561

27 is probably one of the closest to the traditional skateboard size which means more room and also a lot easier to ride. Potentially, you could Ollie on the 27 but it's not the same as a traditional skateboard. The 27 is great for cruising, just be careful when going down steep hills because if you have no protective gear on, you will bust your shit.

Hey brother, just asking for your opinion, I got a nickel for me just to go from my house to the tube station and from the tube station to my job, I love this board, is so much fun to ride around that I’m finding excuses to go for a ride all the time.
Lately I’ve been doing some research on electric skateboards and in particular the unlimited x solo kit that lets you transform any deck into an electric powered skateboard.
I am thinking about getting one for my nickel, any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated,

Researching truck angles, I looked at the penny and nickel board trucks angle and it was strange.....looked like it is zero degrees according to the definitions I find online because the bushings are basically parallel to the board. I think most skateboard trucks are fairly flat and longloard trucks have higher angles. Would you mind make a video on this topic? Thanks!
Oh, by the way, I own both and I still like the Penny better, it is insanely fast for some reason. Penny is less comfortable so less suited for longer distances, but for short thrill sessions, I always grab my penny.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! And it depends what type of riding you're looking to do? If you're mainly just going to be cruising, then the 27" is a solid option. But if you want to hop up on curbs/ do an occasional trick, then the 32" is a better option. Or you could look into a more traditional cruiser with a wooden deck (my personal preference)

Been riding the Nickel for years, compare to a 22 inch one, i could go a bit of down hilling on Nickel but not the 22 one. Also, ride over road cracks feels much safer due to axis distance i guess. However my front kingpin is loose, wonder how can i fix that. * Recommend penny board if your region are humid.

If it‘s loose it could be broken. Try tightening it or switching the Kingpin. Wich I did one time and it‘s a HUGE pain in the ass.

This is a very underrated channel!! I subscribed :) I originally ordered a 22” , but after seeing these vids I cancelled it and ordered a 27” . Should be coming in a few days!! I have absolutely zero skateboard experience, but I ride my scooter across my college campus every day. I’m so excited to try it out :) hopefully I’ll be able to learn!!

Shred Shack thanks so much!! One question- can you ride with your front foot facing forward? Or do you have to have your feet sideways on the board? For example, I push with my right foot and put my left foot in front, but I’m finding it difficult to turn my feet sideways after starting, and then turning it back forward to push again. Do you have any tips for this?

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@VanessaDMusic Hey, don't worry it's not just you... it's tricky. After you push, slowly put your right foot onto the board sideways, then once it's on you want to slide your front foot sideways. It's not ideal to ride with your front foot forward after you push because it doesn't give you the best balance. It might feel weird at first but just keep practicing and you'll get it. Another thing you could do is just step on your board normally with both feet sideways... this will help you get more comfortable. Hope this helped!

Shred Shack Thank you so much for the tips! I’ve been practicing on a smooth paved road near my house. I sort of know what to do now, I just got to apply it all at once. I can go sideways after starting to board, but then moving my front food back forward to push is difficult. Hopefully I can figure it out soon! Thanks for the advice :)

Nah it's not stupid haha. And yeah if it's made by Penny Skateboards, then it's the same exact kind in this video
