Or, you could get on Amazon, and order the Penny "nickel" Dusk. It's sold by Penny Australia, which is legit, I've ordered the Rasta and Dusk colors already. The Dusk is only $59.99
This video has such a weird vibe to it, like that "almost end of summer vacation" type of vibe, the empty parking spaces, the lighting, the perfect green and cut grass. Idk what it is but it's somehow nostalgic in a way
I'M BUYING MY NICKEL TOMORROW AND I'M SO EXCITED I'M ACTUALLY GONNA CRY!!! I worked part time to get the money i need to buy it. I'm so proud of myself right now I'm not even kidding:P
Yes I do! And I still ride it on my way to uni! Had to change the wheels cause one got messed up from a stunt a friend did, but everything else is in a particularly good shape.
Kualalumpar Videos Where did you get your nickel board, I love it so much. I've been trying to customize online and looking at complete but I think I need to go into an actual shop.
Compared to a regular skateboard and a longboard these things are pretty cheap. Try looking on amazon or looking for deals online for these. I saw a few on amazon going for about 50 to 120 bucks.
If you want to cruise in the city on normal ground like smooth Then you should get a Pennyboard Because you can't take it easily everywhere you want. The nickel board is bigger and heavier. It's like the same but the size of the trucks wheels and deck IST different
Both boards are great! My first board was a Nickel but I got myself a 22" just last month. Nowadays I prefer using my 22" mainly because it's super portable, but the Nickel was great for my confidence while I was just starting out. It just generally felt more stable and the ride's smoother, no doubt. Love your videos mate!
damn those test ride clips made it even harder to decide! I am 260 lbs and i wanted a penny coz it's easier to carry around but im afraid ill look silly riding a small board like that :( (yes, i am a beginner rider) can you guys help me decide please?
I got a Pennyboard and I'm 5'3. My cousins got a Nickelboard and he's 4'11. :p Tbh, I took 1.5 months to get used to the penny. After that, I could ride freely. It also felt MUCH more stable compared to when I just got it. When I tried my cousins Nickel, it has ALOT of space since I got used to the Penny size. Since you will travel more, I would go for the penny. It is SUPER light! It feels like half of a milk carton. (1 gallon milk carton). The Nickelboard feels like a full milk carton. (1 gallon). My friend has a Pennyboard and he is a chubby person. (Sort-of). When he rides his Pennyboard, it does bend a bit, which is... Let's just say... Noticeable. Although, Pennyboards have a material that doesn't break your penny in half. I hope I helped you :) if you have anymore questions, ask me. I've had my Pennyboard for 6-7 months now and have full experience with the penny and the nickel.
i bought a landway 22" cruiser a few weeks ago and it's great :D i was surprised that it can hold my weight tbh so i'm glad :D but lately i am kind of hoping that i could have just got the 27" instead 'coz it will be roomy and maybe more suitable for my size (aiming to get one next) but the 22" is okay :D me and my nephew share it. it does flex when i get on it but 's it manageable enough to ride around :D
I am a bigger rider (sort of) and seriously, it doesn't look bad (unless you are also really bad at riding which I am sure you are not) the size of the board has nothing to to with your shoe size or weight, anyone can ride both, but it is personal preference
yeah i am getting better at it :) once i get a bit more control ill be trying to go on a cruise like i intended to :D im so glad i tried skating :) best decision ever!
Hey, the penny is a great board for commuting because of the portability. The Nickel will roll over cracks and twigs a bit better because of the larger size, but you will sacrifice portability. I would recommend the penny, you can use the kicktail to help you over cracks. Hope this helped. -KL
Thanks for the video. I have watched several Penny v Nickel videos and noticed that some riders have found more stability on the 22" Penny by swapping to slightly larger wheels. Not a cheap option of course but it seems to improve the quality of the ride.
Hey matey after a year of dreaming I have finally ordered my Penny Nickel board. I'm so excited I can't wait. After all the videos and all the designs I decided that your black n white design was by far the coolist nickel I'd seen. I'll deffo give you a massive shout out in my nickel video. I know me and my board are going to be the best of friends for a long time. Thanks buddy!
I have finally got both boards and here are the results ... Just saying both are really sturdy and fast board . The nickel is a little easier to ride considering its size ,although it's really sharp on turns . The og penny is less sensitive for turns and better for balance also portable. It's also really smoth but the nickel is way better for bumps... In my opinion, I believe the nickel is better and also more sturdy but like everyone says , people have different opinions . Any questions about the board ask I'll be sure to answer :)
Félicie Bélanger i had a penny board and I think it’s better than the nickel and faster just put 4 inch trucks on it thank me later I lost my penny board but was thinking of getting another one and I am I’ll get a nickel eventually but the satisfaction of riding a penny board down a hill is way better than any other board
Thank you so much for all your videos!! We sell Penny boards at my new job so I've been trying to familiarize myself with the boards so I can better help customers, your videos are by far the most informative I have seen so THANK YOU :)
what would you recommend for beginners? i like how the penny is more portable but i feel it is too small. I also feel that the nickel is too big and less portable. please help.
Bro, what the hell, I've seen this video before. I watched this when it was new and I was buying my first penny board. Now I'm thinking about buying another and youtube shows me this video again!
Nice video and very well done! At age 50 I am probably the oldest person on this thread, but I'd be really interested in your opinion. I still ride and enjoy my old trusty Gordon and Smith longboard regularly. This thing is some 52+ inches long and kind of heavy. As a kid in the 70's I had a skateboard similar to the penny boards and think of getting one as an alternative (not to replace!) my longboard. Transportability is a factor, but in comparison to my orhter board, both the classic and the nickel are quite small and light. I don't do much tricks anymore, but enjoy cruising around the park and such. I am 190lbs and wear shoe size 8. Which do you think I should get, the classic or the nickel?
I don't mean to steal the light from Kualalumpur, but if you're used to longboards, the nickel would definitely be a better choice for you considering how it wouldn't be that bad of a transition from a huge longboard. Hope this helps!
Hagop Ayanyan Thank you for your input. I think you are right, but since I don't want to replace my longboard but rather get something different in addition, I am still wondering whether the classic penny board would be a nice challenge. I guess I'll have to find a store that lets me test both of them.
Decisions, decisions, haha! At this point, you may want to look at the more technical aspects of your two choices. Penny: more versatile, makes tighter, quicker turns, can't handle as much speed as the Nickel (but still can handle a moderate amount), easier to control overall. Nickel: Larger, makes okay turns, can handle more speed, very stable. The Penny is better for travel, and the Nickel is better for cruising around.
Hagop Ayanyan Yes - decisions, decisions. Maybe I should get one of each ;-) (unreasonable!) I'm still not really decided, but now I tend towards the classic, because of its smaller size and the greater difference to what I am riding on now. After all, I'm the kind of guy who likes to go skiing in the morning and snowboarding in the afternoon on a ski-trip, because I really enjoy the variation. Like the old Romans said: "variatio delectat" ;-)
Neither is necessarily fastest, it just depends how hard you pump. The nickel is the smoothest, because of the larger size. Hope this helps. Have fun! -KL
I'm looking into buying one of these skateboards. Which board would be good for a college campus and easier to maneuver around people. I already know how to skateboard for the most part. My height is 5'7 if that helps to decide on which board.
The penny board was my first skateboard and I absolutely love it. Although people say it is harder to learn on I seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly. However, I recently crashed my penny board after losing control on a big hill. Now that I am getting better I think a nickel board would help me get to the next level so I can start to learn tricks and skate faster while maintaining control of my board.
I'm a beginner and want either a Nickel or Penny to cruise around college & in town. What should I get Penny or Nickel ? I have 10 1/2 to 11 size feet & 5'9 Please Respond back ? P.S. Great Video
Hey KL, Im thinking about getting a board for short commutes between my workplace and the train station. I'll be wearing leather dress shoes. would penny board be suitable since dress shoes have a heel?
I was deciding to buy a nickel or a penny and I went with a penny. I am a beginner and honestly I am really happy with my choice because it's so portable and the penny isn't hard at all to learn! I've never rode a skateboard in my life and this penny was my first. It's not hard at all to learn and it's so portable and fun.
I know this is late but... I live in the U.K., The roads/Pavements are really bumpy and usually have small stones on them, I've decided, if I'm getting a skateboard it would be the Penny, but should I spend the money on it if I can't really use it?? Some advice would be much appreciated !
You said the Nickel goes over bumps more smoothly than the Penny. In my area the pavements are sometimes quite bumpy :/ (Roads here in UK are smaller than american roads so >> pavements). But i really like the fact the penny is so small/portable. I'm shoe size 8-9. What should i get? :/
I can't decide! Haha I like how the penny classic is able to fit on a backpack and is smaller! I have size 6 feet but I'm use to longboards so these are pretty small. Which one should I get?
I'm looking to buy a new board, I'm undecided on which one to get though, the Penny or the Nickel, I'm new to riding and never done anything serious, I rode on my friends penny board today and I like the way it corners, how it doesn't lean very much, but I think the Nickel will be more practical, do I go for fun or practicality?
Hey Buddy, I'm 6ft weight about 9 stone, have excellent balance! Not sure which board to go for? I just wanna ride it to College, I want to go for the 22 inch board as it will be much easier to take around with me. Is it possible to ride the 22 inch penny board on rough streets as in London a lot of the pavements are a bit wonky.....
I want to get a penny or nickel but I'm not sure which. I have size 8 feet, relatively small. I want to use it for short distance transportation (school < home; home < school) but I really don't know. I understand the nickel is better for beginners, which I am, but it seems too big. What should I get?
Hello. I'm foot size 5. I ride a normal board. I want to bring one to school because I stay after school ( sometimes ) and I get really bored just waiting for my ride... Also being portable doesn't really matter for me because I have a bin in school I put stuff inside. Penny or Nickel?
I got the nickel board recently and I like it ALOT!! I think my shoe size is 6 (I’m european, so that would be a 36 European size) and the nickel is just the perfect size for me. I think the board is still very portable and has a pretty nice size for me to adjust my feet around
Does loosing the bolt by the two wheels make easier turns for cruising? I'm moving to the suburban area of Atlanta, Georgia and they have some long streets and some sharp turns and I wanted to be fully prepared for when I buy one from Chicago.
I'm 5'10" and 160lbs Male With a size 12 shoe. what should i get the Penny Nickel or the Penny Classic? I would be mainly using this for cruising around with friends
Which one should I get? I have size 8 feet (US sizing) and I'm really uncoordinated and I have never ridden one before. I really just want to ride and have fun on whatever I get.
If I buy a quality nickel board my wallets gonna be left with pennies
Phoenix King hahaha good one
Hahahaha good pun punster mc punstin
Shakim Yasin they're very good
Hajahhahahahahajhahajajajjajaha
Or, you could get on Amazon, and order the Penny "nickel" Dusk. It's sold by Penny Australia, which is legit, I've ordered the Rasta and Dusk colors already. The Dusk is only $59.99

Wtf
Hahahah
Reece Smith good observations LOL
Reece Smith LOLOLOLOLOL
LMAO YOU GUYS ARE SO PERVERTED
This guy is so kind and peaceful
Yeah I subscribed after this video because I really liked how peaceful the whole video was
TORTO as peaceful as the asphalt and concrete
TORTO ikr!!!
Or in a nuclear test site
He has like the most perfect place to ride
This video has such a weird vibe to it, like that "almost end of summer vacation" type of vibe, the empty parking spaces, the lighting, the perfect green and cut grass.
Idk what it is but it's somehow nostalgic in a way
Described perfectly bro
I remember this video from 10 years ago lol. For some reason, every now and again this spot he's skating in would pop into my mind. It's so damn chill
I just ordered a nickel board yesterday, I'm so excited i cant stop watching these videos
Exactly the same
it is just so much fun to roll around!
lillovebuglily mine is coming tomorrow!??
Does it fit on your backpack easily or is it a pain in the ass?
Bruh same here
wow this guy lives in paradise..
yeah im also wondering where he lives. wanna move their
wow. I wish the ground was that smooth where I am from but the nickel looks awesome
yep me too
I live in the philippines and its really hard to find a good place to skate there
+Danah Sampaga really nigga?
The ground is smooth where I am from, but they aren't so empty
These wheels are literally made for rougher concretes and cracks
When Deciding...I think of the Penny as a Mini Cruiser.
And the Nickel as a Mini Longboard.
Hope that Helps.
Imagine pennywise and nickelback riding these
lololol
Goddammit
I'm gonna have to get the penny then.
this comment isnt even funny tho
Lmao
I chose the Penny and I didn't regret it. I wish I live there though because the roads and sidewalks are so perfect.
Tell me about sidewalks and roads.. i live in mexico, there are bumps every 10cm hahahhaha lmao
Same, tho the roads and sidewalks were ok, they're just bad for skateboarding
is anyone watching in 2020 quarantine because they don’t know if they should get a penny or a nickel board?
⬇️
I'm glad you're watching! You can't go wrong with either!
Maybe
meeee
Lucy Backer Personally i’m a beginner but i had both a penny board and a nickel board and i felt more comfortable on the nickel board
yup
If I get two pennies and duct tape them to my shoes, they make good roller skates.
XD i guess you can try, why not...... YOLOOOOOOO!!!
+Antek Woronowicz that is the most cancerous comment ever
I actually had this same idea today
cuz he's from poland >.
What's next? A penny longboard called "Dollar"?
Nooo stupid.... a dime duhhhhh. hahahahah jk
mrmonkey3731 and then quater.
Then a downhill longboard called "Modern Economy".
Lol
That economy joke was clever and hilarious.
I'M BUYING MY NICKEL TOMORROW AND I'M SO EXCITED I'M ACTUALLY GONNA CRY!!! I worked part time to get the money i need to buy it. I'm so proud of myself right now I'm not even kidding:P
rosweglyn luclyn Thats awesome!! So great to hear! Congratulations!
rosweglyn luclyn its been 2 years since you commented, do you still have it now?
Yes I do! And I still ride it on my way to uni! Had to change the wheels cause one got messed up from a stunt a friend did, but everything else is in a particularly good shape.
Mo the mighty Bi well done!

Thx for reply!
Kualalumpar Videos weight*
Kualalumpar Videos Where did you get your nickel board, I love it so much. I've been trying to customize online and looking at complete but I think I need to go into an actual shop.
Indrajan Dhillon check out again the penny customizer, now they have new option(like the glow in the dark, which is back) :)
Thanks for the encouragement I got my penny nickel and it works awesome also you are a great skater🏆
I'm doing all this research on which is best to buy but i forgot the most important thing... they're expensive!
Compared to a regular skateboard and a longboard these things are pretty cheap. Try looking on amazon or looking for deals online for these. I saw a few on amazon going for about 50 to 120 bucks.
Alisha Santiago My penny board was $60 because it was on sale
Alisha Santiago amazon is where I got my 50$ penny
I'd get a ridge, they are affordable and have great reviews, go check them out
I got the black and gold one for 150
Best penny vs nickel comparison!!
The penny seems more silent and smooth to me... am I the only one?
Yep, yes you are the ONLY one!
+Maaz H so funny
+Daniele Pala nope, my penny board doesn't seem noisy
James Sotelo even on rough surfaces? btw thank you for answering
+Daniele Pala just tighten up wheels and board will get silent
I really like how compact the penny is but the nickel is lot more stable ! I wanna get one but idk which :(
crystallites k same

しい哀 LMAOOO
しい哀 I’m laughing so hard
しい哀 oop

Ashley C. Sameee Idk what to get cause I need sum to do
Reflex. Me too😭
This comment would be weird in 2013, but makes sense in 2020.
samee im leaning towards a cruiser even tho im a 4 in mens
If you want to cruise in the city on normal ground like smooth

pixie Dont worry about "looking silly" Choose the board based off what you think the most ideal size for you will be.
I got a Pennyboard and I'm 5'3. My cousins got a Nickelboard and he's 4'11. :p Tbh, I took 1.5 months to get used to the penny. After that, I could ride freely. i bought a landway 22" cruiser a few weeks ago and it's great :D i was surprised that it can hold my weight tbh so i'm glad :D but lately i am kind of hoping that i could have just got the 27" instead 'coz it will be roomy and maybe more suitable for my size (aiming to get one next) but the 22" is okay :D me and my nephew share it. it does flex when i get on it but 's it manageable enough to ride around :D

"Its so tiny you can practically fit it in your pocket" dont know why but that was so funny 🤣🤣
It was laughing while saying bro with the pocket I have I can barely fit my phone😂
You're seriously my favourite pennyboard youtuber (if this makes sense). Thanks for your help, I'm getting the Nickel!
Hey, the penny is a great board for commuting because of the portability. The Nickel will roll over cracks and twigs a bit better because of the larger size, but you will sacrifice portability. I would recommend the penny, you can use the kicktail to help you over cracks. Hope this helped. -KL

The ramp you came down around 7:40 looks like so much fun to skate!
Ah. The classic video that made me get a Penny Nickel a few months after this video was uploaded. 2013... Good times.
Love the sound of the boards while you riding😍😂😅
Great video! Very informative.
David!!! :D
This is a quality, informative and well planned video. Thanks.

Hey, popping up 4 years later but oh well. I was wondering, is the weight difference really big ?
today I was using a penny board and I hit a pebble and I face planted
ouch
I thought I was the only one
What board is best into ..not faceplanting after hitting a pebble?
Stones Jones and penny and Longboard
Alexis Navarro ouch..

Laura Rodriguez Awesome! Glad I could help out! Thank for the comment!
Both are very portable lol
But maybe that's because I'm comparing it to my 40'' longboard xD
2:16 how does he have a black logo on a custom board?
what would you recommend for beginners? i like how the penny is more portable but i feel it is too small. I also feel that the nickel is too big and less portable. please help.
Enzoferrari61 Gooo forr the Pennyy haha. Thats my recommendation
Bro, what the hell, I've seen this video before. I watched this when it was new and I was buying my first penny board. Now I'm thinking about buying another and youtube shows me this video again!
what brand are they? they look awesome and i’m planning to get a penny board, but all of them are plastic and cheap. what brand is your penny?
from the brand Penny the australian company
This guy seem so nice and his voice is so soothing :')
Nice video and very well done!

Watched this video a few years ago when I really wanted a board. Never got round to ever buying one, is this a sign?
Lol same here except the fact that I ended up buying a longboard instead and this was about 7 years ago!
Pause at 0:51 and look at the shadow
:)
Neither is necessarily fastest, it just depends how hard you pump. The nickel is the smoothest, because of the larger size. Hope this helps. Have fun! -KL
Do you really have to have grip tape on there, or is the grip okay without?
I think the board rides better with griptape, but it works fine without it.
I'm looking into buying one of these skateboards. Which board would be good for a college campus and easier to maneuver around people. I already know how to skateboard for the most part. My height is 5'7 if that helps to decide on which board.
I got my Nickel Board this morning I'm so excited!! :)
For beginners what do recommend the nickel or penny?
The nickel is a bit more stable, so it tends to be easier for beginners to learn on.
Kualalumpar Videos Thanks for the advice and a response
That pavement is heaven. I wish I could have that in my city and even country.
Its funny how I got the penny as my first ever skateboard and ive learned from the hardest first but im fine:D
Nickel for me, I have really big feet
My dad is 9'7" and his shoe size is 26" and he rides my 22 inch penny!! CRAZY
+Thomas Hedrick Yeah...nice try bud.
+Plat4mRasr I Would've Said:Why You Always Lying.
+Thomas Hedrick nobody is 9'7"
I'm a beginner and want either a Nickel or Penny to cruise around college & in town.
What should I get Penny or Nickel ?
I have 10 1/2 to 11 size feet & 5'9
Please Respond back ?
P.S. Great Video
I think you should by a penny board. I have one by my self soo yeah . 😜😜
SliceOfAnimeManga720 The Nickel is so much easier to ride because of it's size.
Bought the Nickel weeks ago enjoying the ride
around campus.. I might buy a Penny later on before the Fall
The nickel because of its size
Penny. I am 13, 5'3, 10.5 Janoski foot size. It is very compact and light. The Nickel does ride smoother though.
ive never seen a video as good as this one it was very well explained good job
Which do u think is more suitable for just cruising around uni?
Steve Harvey penny is a mini cruiser and nickel is a mini longboard so if ur cruising around university then definitely is penny
My dad is 180 lbs is it ok if he tries my nickel
The board will be fine as long as he doesn't mistake it for a trampoline.
Sir Pyr0 the III haha well said
TameClamDemarco He should be fine
+Sir Pyr0 the III what about 220 pounds
xKray Vin I'm 218 and I ride a nickel.. it holds just fine.
Is it just me or I’m the only one watching this in 2020 second lockdown?
Hi Iam from The Netherlands can i buy the penny board also online? Do u have a link? For the penny board

Otaku47 Tse No just no

quite frankly the knockoffs are just as good as the actual stuff. sometimes they have shittier bearings. thats about it 🤷
pennyboard
Thanks for this video. BTW, where did you purchase the grip tape from for your Penny boards?
You now what beats the nickel and penny board? An actual skateboard or longboard!
Skateboard for tricks, longboard for long rides... PENNY- Small compact rides
+MartinTech Can you explain what a compact ride is
+Apex Divy comfort rides, soft and cool

I live in the UK and i didn't realise how many there are!! Thank you so much and your amazing channel :) keeping it real with adventure
Where did you buy those boards from? I love the color scheme and the material.
I know this is late but... I live in the U.K., The roads/Pavements are really bumpy and usually have small stones on them, I've decided, if I'm getting a skateboard it would be the Penny, but should I spend the money on it if I can't really use it?? Some advice would be much appreciated !
This was a really nice video, great editing and stylistics, and quite informative too.
craftyforever101 Glad you enjoyed it!
For this video, did you change the bearings into Bones Redz for both boards or did you keep the Stock Penny Abec 7's on for the test rides??
You said the Nickel goes over bumps more smoothly than the Penny. In my area the pavements are sometimes quite bumpy :/ (Roads here in UK are smaller than american roads so >> pavements). But i really like the fact the penny is so small/portable. I'm shoe size 8-9. What should i get? :/
***** yh i've tried a penny but not a nickel, meh i'll probably go for the penny. Thanks.
I can't decide! Haha I like how the penny classic is able to fit on a backpack and is smaller! I have size 6 feet but I'm use to longboards so these are pretty small. Which one should I get?
I just don't know what size to get. What do you think. It's for going back and forth from school. And what wed site did you customize it on!
Nice video man! Thanks for the clear comparison.
Your guides are very in-depth and very well made. Thank you.
***** Glad you enjoy them! Thanks for watching!
This video is very well done, man. Good job. I'm going with the nickel size as I am 6'4, 230 pounds.
I got the nickel board recently and I like it ALOT!! I think my shoe size is 6 (I’m european, so that would be a 36 European size) and the nickel is just the perfect size for me. I think the board is still very portable and has a pretty nice size for me to adjust my feet around
Great! Glad to hear! Thanks for watching!
Does loosing the bolt by the two wheels make easier turns for cruising? I'm moving to the suburban area of Atlanta, Georgia and they have some long streets and some sharp turns and I wanted to be fully prepared for when I buy one from Chicago.
***** You can achieve tighter turns at slower speeds by loosening the trucks a bit. Test it out at different settings to see what works best for you.
