Great video, fellas! I have a 1999 Nash Deluxe (3-burst) that cost me $425 U.S. at the time, and worth every penny. You’re absolutely correct, it is a very versatile little horse- plus, Tex/Mex pups can be full of surprises when the axe, amp & effects are dialed in just right! I only do home studio recordings nowadays, but it gets every tone that I need for the broad range of genres for which I write. Wouldn’t ever trade it.
Try some Tusq saddles with it. They're lovely, so comfortable to play. Get a Tusq nut too. I have a Black saddle set on strat and white set on a tele deluxe. Just so comfortable, give them a go
One of the skills that are worth learning, while being a guitarist is: how to use a file and sandpaper. That helps kicking a cheaper guitar up a few notches at a budget of 5 Euros. I see little sense overpaying for the USA stamp. I do own some high end guitars, but still... I'm amazed by the quality of the cheapest lines nowadays.
I have one of those but it's like a yellow/creme color with a maple finger board. Nice guitar it's been getting more use lately because of the type of music I'm playing.
Can’t believe I missed this video 😮. James, I have the Nashville Tele as well, but mine has the push / pull tone, maple neck (I didn’t like the Pau Ferro) and it has locking tuners, noiseless pickups, and modern saddles. Strange, I thought they were all similar, but I think the quality for the price is unbeatable. I tried Teles that were 2 to 3 times the price but settled with this one. Thanks for the video guys, always great!
I'm no snob, I have a harley benton te52, a vintage v100, and an am pro 2 strat which is light years over the other, is it 15 times better than the HB, not at all but trying a squire jazz master it felt like I would be going backwards buying one
Fender, as other makes is aiming at different customers with different price points. With a bit of modding, patience and finishing, you can get a cheap guitar to a higher level. The only things you have to watch are the weight and the neck carve cause these are not interchangeable, unless you search for an alternative body or neck, which is a hassle and may kill the deal…
It's all about marketing. Fender makes all their necks in the U.S. even the MIM necks. All made in one place using high end CNC/computer operated machines. It does not cost one penny more to have the same neck on that MIM neck. Do not believe the hand sanding B.S. either. The new machines can make the necks so smooth sanding is now a reversed necessity. To make the neck rough enough so the finish will adhere to it.
My ultimate Tele is a Nashville Thinline with a Bigsby

Paul making any guitar sound great because you are a better guitar player than most other players

James’ tele is a highway one/American special tele I reckon. Nitro finish, Texas special pickups and a neat blend of modern and vintage appointments.
American Special yeh, not nitro finish though. The highway one was the nitro finished series, a seperate range.
@@pierrederesistance if it’s a 60th anniversary (2011) it’ll be highway one, so nitro - won’t it??

It should have a push/pull tone pot for even more options I think 🤔
