    I am a hunter never had to worry about things shooting back. I recently got into airsoft. This channel really helps and the drills can be fun to run in my backyard when I don't have time to get out and play.

    Learned my awesome heel to toe skills years ago while in high school marching band! Who would have ever guessed that band would make me an incredibly quiet and smooth shooter? Can't emphasize enough how important proper footwork is!! Very nice drill!!
    Thanks instructor Zee and TR!!

      Don't forget geek too. I take those words as compliments because as a nerd or geek I concentrate, focus, and study at excelling my skills to be the best and compitently contribute to solo or team efforts to ensure the successful outcome of whatever the task might be. If having discipline and a warrior mindset makes me a nerd or geek then yep, that's me. There's a name for people who attack people in the comment sections of TH-cam videos but I won't sink to that level. You've already lost any and all respect or credibility. Unless you were just joking. In that case thanks for the compliment!

    Doing the water bottle drill instead using a cup of red cool-aid over your wife's new white carpet will increase the consequencess of messing up and should only be attempted by trained professionals who don't value their livelihood. Thanks for the tip!

    I used to play paintball a lot and had to learn the hard way how to run and gun but never really told anyone that's why I shoot better than most others while moving around. Most average range shooters would freak if I told them I learned how to keep my upper body stable by playing paintball.

    People will definitely still look at you weird if you walk through the house staring intently at a bottle of water you're holding out in front of you. Very valuable info and great video, thank you.

  • @areus2016
    @areus2016 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Note: heel to toe steps work if you have soft shoes. If you are wearing boots, you want to step with the outside edge of you foot(if you step with your right foot, the first part that hits the ground is the edge of the very right part of your foot). Once you hit the edge rock your foot inwards. Silent but it’s very stable. That’s is for a hard surface like concrete or wood. On grass you want to step heel to toe making sure that you raise your feet higher than usual so you don’t brush the grass then step straight down. AST you step down you bend the grass, not crush it. I constantly surprise my family members by coming out of nowhere because I walk around like a ninja.

    • @marcwallmark9227
      @marcwallmark9227 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you step directly onto the edge? Not heel, roll onto the edge, then roll inward onto flat foot then forward onto the toes?

    Love the idea with the water bottle. I learned the heel to toe movement for various things in the army. I got so into the habit of walking quietly that I sometimes sneak up on people without intending to lol It's kind of amusing. I'm a big fan of shooting on the move, so going to incorporate some of this practice into my training. Cheers!

    the single biggest reason, and this is not to counter point Zee as he was correct but to add to what he said. when in a situation where lead is flying both ways, the best reason to keep moving is that it is harder to hit a moving target and getting shot sucks. even just a flesh wound (non operative through and through gsw), as they are called, still sucks.
    great vid brothers please keep them coming. helps the old man remember how to train...lol

So, I'll pour an 8oz paper cup of HOT coffee almost to the rim and walk to my time clock. Who knew I was INADVERTENTLY exercising a steady hand technique... that water bottle trick is neat. • @Rico11b

    Basic rule of thumb. If you're exposed you should be moving with the quickness. Only stopping once you're under cover, and also reloading under cover. Standing still while exposed is just inviting a shot to the face. Those targets represent 6 people that are armed, maybe with guns or with knives. They're not going to stand still and wait their turn be shot at, so you'd better me moving and making yourself a hard target to hit.

    Need to utilize more heel to toe (almost like a dig to stabilize yourself) keep your feet straight as to prevent tripping. Your bended knees and sight alignment looked perfect. I never understood the practical application for this technique until we conducted an us vs them exercise against a platoon of Marines using sim rounds. I had cover and thought I was safe to return fire, but once they knew where I was a few of them basically moved on my position using this technique while laying down fire and ultimately deleted my azz. I nicknamed this the holy sacrifice because if the enemy is dug into a fixed position ;ie trench or pinned down by a fire team, it’s over for him. I’ve done this drill a million times with reloads and transitions and it is def one of my favorites.

      Aaron Hawkins I’ve been seeing that a lot in the comments. Never knew that. It’s similar to how I learned to March in the military though, minimizing movement from the waist up. Especially for honor guard/color guard details.

    I use the heel toe technique when I have a full cup of water I have to bring to another room fast.
    If you want to practice, take one... You'll know you failed when it spills like hell.
    I often use the arm as a gimbal too, separating it from the body movement, but it can't be applied to shooting since it has to be leveled with the head.
