Majel is my daughter’s name, she’ll be 9 soon and has autism. We use a joint account. She thought it was so cool hearing her full name in a TH-cam video. Majel was named after The Star Trek actress who really was a major influence and married Gene Roddenberry. It took me a whole day to find out how it was pronounced (May-Juhl) because even interviewers tried to avoid it. Finally I found William Shatner talking about her after she passed in 2008. Thank you for reading my daughter’s full name in the comments ❤
🌸Good morning from southeast Michigan Laura and Aaron, and all GA friends around the world. Sunday conversations with Laura and Aaron are the best, especially with coffee. These recaps are so fun, even for me, the apartment dweller. I dream of a garden space I can grow one day using all I’ve learned from you these past years. Enjoy a wonderful week everyone💚🌼💛💚🌼💛💚
I agree, the recaps are great. I can still learn a ton of information even though I don't have enough time to watch the daily videos. Thank you for sharing your BTS chats with us!
Laura and Aaron, I just wanted to let you know how much I REALLY enjoy the Sunday morning ( for us) recaps! I get my coffee ( cold brew in the summertime), turn on the big screen tv which has TH-cam on it, and settle into my comfy chair for the next hour. Even though I have watched all the videos during the week ( on both channels), it is always interesting to hear the answers to questions viewers have as well as the tidbits of information you guys give us ( i.e. I was thinking about my watering situation with a hose but due to where the water source (spigot) is located how could I implement a Hoselink without tearing up plants). Also, I always get a good laugh at some of the topics ( no I am not pregnant for hair color, different shoes, etc.). Ken’s Thank You on screen was a great touch!! Priceless. Thank you for all the time, effort and creativity you spend to bring us quality videos. ❤
You’re getting a pond. Oh boy it’s going to add a beautiful element to your property. And the wildlife it will bring. The view from The Hartley will fantastic. Can’t wait to see. now I’m really glad you decided to take out the giant boxwood circle hedge.
I absolutely love my Sunday mornings with Garden Answer!🥰 I watch you all while I get ready to head to worship practice before church service. It just starts me off on a nice track. Love your videos. Thank you!
I planted honey berries the same year you did, shortly after your video on them years ago. They are absolutely beautiful round bushes, but I could not figure out why I had no berries, when I had blossoms in the spring. Oh my gosh! You answered the mystery of why I don’t have berries. I will have to try netting them next year.
Good morning from Alabama. When you enjoy what you do, it isn’t work. Love your attitude and how you share your knowledge and time with family and community. Appreciate how you give credit to those that work with you and have done work, projects for you.
I just wanted to say I ordered a HoseLink for my backyard and it’s a narrower but longer space. I simply love the ease this has allowed me to reach plants in the very back of my yard in pots by my garden shed(still in progress) as I’m with Laura by the time I was done with a regular hose I was ready to “drop kick the hose” 🤣. I simply pull it out first then do the watering and then guide it back in the casing. I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd one for the front of my house. Thank you Laura and Aaron and @HoseLink 💜💜💜
Thank you for all your content on drip irrigation! ❤ it's given me the confidence to set up everything on timers and drip. I don't have to spend days hand watering and can enjoy my garden so much more!
Of course you can convert a sprinkler to drip. BUT, you have to be willing to give up the entire zone, so that it no longer waters grass. Then you program that zone to go off differently that your other zones. For me, the lawn zones get used for 30 minutes once a week (in MI), but the drip zone runs for 15 min every other day. You remove the sprinkler head, install a riser, and then your head assembly with back flow device, filter, pressure regulator, etc. Drip Depot is full of good advice to get you set up!
We have done this for several zones. Only we bought the converter piece that just screws into where the original sprinkler head was. Then we capped all the other heads in that zone. It has the back flow, pressure regulator built in.
Would love to see what you assemble for Monica's drip kit. Please consider sharing the kit with the rest of us. If you can include links to the items (either attached to the video or on Amazon) where we could also purchase said items, that would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for another wonderful video. Your videos are one the highlights of my day(s). Even if things seem redundant to you at times, its still a joy for us. I know you have heard it before, but you and Aaron (and the GA team) have taught me so much over the years. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude. Thank you seems inadequate, but "thank you."
For 20 years running a yard maintenance biz. I've field tested every flexi hose out there. IMHO the Zero-G brand holds up the best. The end fittings are high quality, constant pulling and abrasion doesn't seem to wear them much. One caveat, if you're going to hang it on a hose hanger or coil it, attach a hose end shutoff, wind it up with water in it; then release the pressure and drain the hose. 😊
I love watching you guys, you’re a big part of my garden inspiration🥰 So glad you use the compost. I use something similar that I like better than mulch. It’s called soil conditioner/clay breaker at Home Depot. Also, I loved the discussion about the swing. A swing would be great added to a pergola or an arbor and planted up. I’m planning on adding posts to hang a hammock in a garden space I’m developing. So many ideas and so little time 😂
Nature’s Willow…thank you for introducing me to this wonderful product. I use it for arthritis in my hand and on aching knee and that stiff neck when I sleep just wrong… what a nice relief. Knowing it brought relief to your Mom’s broken ankle, got me to trying it. Fresh aroma too. 💕💕💕 Love it!!!
Watching buckets of rain coming down in Illinois. It’s been a weird spring into summer, this year. I love waking up to your videos and IG posts. Thanks for all that you do for us gardeners.
In regards to the question about the shredded hosta.....last year the deer ate some of my hosta while we were out of town. There was practically nothing left of the leaves. They came back this year but are half the size they were last year. The plants that didn't get eaten are huge right now. My thinking is to leave the leaves, as you said, so they can absorb nutrients for next year.
Good Morning from all of us gardener's here in Georgia. We to have had a long Spring, lots of rain last week. Today I will have to water. A cool 66 degrees this morning. Love you decided on the pond. I to am adding water to my area. Waiting on my water fountain/ bird bath to arrive. Still want one of those little brooks that you took up. I thought it was pretty and calming along the pallet walkway.
You can definitely use your Hoselink in small spaces with garden beds! I’m in Australia and I have a small yard with my Hoselink mounted around the corner of my house. I just pull out the length I need where the hose is mounted and then walk with it to where I need to water 👍🏻
I'm so excited to hear your going to have aquascape build you a pond! We built ours last year after going to Chicago to learn all about it and got to meet Greg, Brian, Ed and all the crew! I love my pond! We made it 3.5' deep so I can go in and get wet and play with my koi!
OMG Captain Jacks products are amazing! Love the weed brew .....works great under decks. Thank you all that you do. Look forward to your videos. You have motivated me to push to try new gardens, pots and using seeds.
We had a neighbor trialing one of those robot lawn mowers. It made their yard look awful. The thing was always out there running randomly around so the yard never seemed freshly done. The lines as Aaron mentioned are all over the place but the biggest issue was it did not do the edges and under plants. So by the end of the summer, there were weeds and tall grass around all the planting beds and shrubs. It looked awful. Clearly relying only on it did not work!
Good Morning Laura/Aaron: Would you please film the drip kit that you'll be putting together for your sister? I would like to create one for myself. Thank you!
God bless you all and your family Laura and Aaron, both have helped me and my wife to plant amazing and beautiful gardens around our house. we are always looking forward to your videos and brings us peace to start the day🙏🏼
You mentioned cameras on the property, and I am really glad to hear that! You've mentioned it before. Yes, it's good to know where the kids are, but it's also good to know when you get "looky loos" on the property as well. What is the update on the gate?
Here in PA, we didn't have any cold weather at all this winter and very little rain and my buddleia died. I also had all my roses die all the way to the ground and only lost 1 but was really worried about what I would get , worrying that they would be that rose below the graft. Luckily, they all came back true to what they should be. I am thinking it was just the lack of the deep freeze they need and the lack of rain.
Oh my goodness, Yayyy! I Cannot wait for the Pond build at the end of July guys!! 🪷💦 Anything Aquascape, is going to be so beautiful & natural in your garden! 😍 Just what you needed, a big water element to add to your space. I cant imagine life without my 2 ponds now. You & the kids will sit around & interact with it so much, with all the wildlife/ fish!! 👏🏽 Can’t wait to watch the process 😁 Woo! x
Thanks for all the info, I love watching you every morning and my boyfriend Chris now watches it too.❤ My love of plants has only grown since I started watching you. I can't tell you what that means to me. Keep on keeping on ✌❤🌴🌴
Thanks for the honest review on the Hoselink. I was thinking it would solve all my problems, but I have an 80’x80’ space crammed full of raised beds, fruit trees, berry bushes, and a high tunnel. I use any kind of hose guides I can find locally. They are not good. They come out of the ground, so I guess I should thank you for the info on the Eely guides, too! This week will be the first week we will get into the upper 80’s and 90’s in zone 8a SC! I’ve enjoyed the long cool spring, and so has my garden. 💗
The question about the hose link is what I questioned. Our water faucet is near our garage door in a fenced patio area. I cannot see a way for one to work as it is a crowded spot. I’m glad you addressed this issue.
@@alcg3981 You are welcome! I have one of mine attached to a faucet and coiled up in a plastic flowerpot below. Looks neat. In winter I drain the hose and store in the pot in my garage. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We had a weird start to the summer too. Didn't have 100 until mid June in TX! That hardly ever happens. Now that summer is here though...it is here! 108 mid next week!
Laura I can remember when you were so shy and I could tell you didn't like being on video. Your goodbye sign of of "see you in the next one" would go on and on sometimes. You were so cute. It's been amazing watch you grow into this amazing intelligent and confident woman. No your sign off is like, byyyye felicia.... lol Just love watching your videos. I've learned so much from you. It just never gets old... Long time fan!!!
Fully understand why you can't put larger swing on the tree. Thanks for the explanation. What about a porch style swing on a stand facing out to the lawn? Great place to sit and watch the kids run.
Have you and Monica ever thought about sitting down together in these highlight videos and just chat? Monica would be an incredible addition to your team, hope the door is always open for her!
My butterfly bush dies back every year and I’m glad-it gets huge and in the spring I need the light for the clematis growing up a trellis behind it. BTW, I ordered Nature’s Willow cream and patches. My husband uses the cream for his sore elbow and I use the patch on my hip-both are great! Caution ⛔️ to those who have nut allergies-there is almond oil in the cream but the patches are safe. 😊
Same here in SW PA. I'm enjoying it, but my flowers are not. Haven't had much growth yet. They should be about twice the size they are. First it was drought with heat, now it's rainy with moderate days and cool nights- hello fungus.
@@ritasicari7518 yes! My pumpkins aren’t even climbing my trellis yet and have powdery mildew 😒 my zinnias are still in bud….it’s ridiculous. Hopefully it’s not a harsh winter.
Sooo jealous of your cooler weather. Twin Cities has had the hottest June on record and only .25" rain in the last 6 weeks. June is usually one of our wettest months. I finally had to install soaker hoses throughout my gardens. Because of your use of drip watering I probably wouldn't have done the soaker hoses. I have used the Willow Balm on your recommendation and have found it releaves joint/muscle aches. Thanks, Nancy
Thank you Aaron for the tip about the Eley hose guides. I have been looking for something that would be sturdy and you can use it in different locations just by adding another ground spike. I learn so much from y'all and my garden has benefited from your willingness to share. Thank you so much!
I have watched for forever doing drip. So, I tried this season; however, I used 1/4 inch and my plants are NOT thriving. It would be so wonderful if you created a list of proper supplies and basic instructions for all your viewers and post it here!!! Love you and the educational things you teach! I have planted my entire flower gardens all the way around my home this year and am trying my best to not lose any plants.
How fortunate that Natures Willow sponsored this weeks recap video! I had a mishap on a flight of wooden stairs this past week, and we’ll just say there are parts of my body that are black, blue, purple and green! Needless to say I was so glad to have in hand Natures Willow Bath Soak and the cream. Have been using it faithfully and it’s really helping. Today my back is hurting, so I’ll be putting the pain patch to use! Thanks for the discount code, I’ll use it to restock my stash! ❤
Yay!! So excited to hear you are adding a pond! I'm really looking forward to seeing that process. And thank you for explaining the difference between what you use as mulch vs. compost. I had the same question and was weighing out what to use in our area to both suppress weeds and pretty-up the landscape. Side-note...I thought the same thing ("Monica needs a Hose Link") when you finished up her drip system, but didn't say anything 😅
Just a note from experience. Wisteria is gorgeous but has an extremely invasive root system. I planted one at the corner of my house so it would trail along the fence. I noticed when I was planting some rose bushes in my flower bed, I ran into several root runners from the wisteria and found that the root system was also running under our house! I ended up digging a four foot deep trench, six feet long in order to get the wisteria out of there. Our neighbors had wisteria that they let grow over their garage and decided to take it down. They dug and dug to get all of the root system out. This was 10 years ago and they still have wisteria shoots that pop up in the yard. 😢

The style of Monica’s fencing is what makes her yard so hot. The air can’t move because the fence is solid. If they get a real strong wind they will more likely to get wind damage since they have a solid fence. If the fence had staggered slats that over lap with space (not sure watch sure what that style is called) so air can move through the yard would be much cooler.

Oh I can’t wait to see the pond ! We have one at the house we moved into and need the inspiration badly!
The question about the hose link is what I questioned. Our water faucet is near our garage door in a fenced patio area. I cannot see a way for one to work as it is a crowded spot. I’m glad you addressed this issue.
Goodmorning! Set back and have s cup of tea. More tips for the garden and it's amazing. Thank you
We bought our first Hose Link after learning of it from both of you. Best purchase ever. Planning on purchasing another one.
Love watching Garden Answer videos everyday!!! 🌹🌸💐
I'm in zone 9b northern California (near Redding) and have only had 1 day at 101! It's crazy this year! Super mild temps for us!
The Drip Kit for Monica's birthday is a great idea! I'm asking my kids for one of those shrinking hoses for mine, coming up on July 4th.
For the shrinking hose, get one with the brass fittings not plastic. Will last longer.
@@j.m.7056 Righto, thx for the insight!
@@alcg3981 You are welcome! I have one of mine attached to a faucet and coiled up in a plastic flowerpot below. Looks neat. In winter I drain the hose and store in the pot in my garage. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Great questions and great answers. This is why your channel is so loved by many. Thank you for answering our questions ❤️ 💕 😊
We had a weird start to the summer too. Didn't have 100 until mid June in TX! That hardly ever happens. Now that summer is here though...it is here! 108 mid next week!
I live in the south and I love the Nature's Willow bug bite cream. The pain reliever works well too.
Laura I love that she share your Family with us !!!
Lol, keeps other people employed and the Thanks! Pops up! That was cute 🥰
You guys are so sweet. The humor and love is so sweet 😍
Laura I can remember when you were so shy and I could tell you didn't like being on video. Your goodbye sign of of "see you in the next one" would go on and on sometimes. You were so cute. It's been amazing watch you grow into this amazing intelligent and confident woman.
No your sign off is like, byyyye felicia.... lol
Just love watching your videos. I've learned so much from you. It just never gets old...
Long time fan!!!
Learn so much through other's questions. Love these Q&A videos 🎉
In the pink blooming video when you are talking about flowers on gator,@ 6.50 that big tree on right has nose and eyes..take a look..
They were on the tree when they bought the property.
@@jgwood10 thanks for the answer..
I love watching and can’t wait to see the pond!
Your energy and enthusiasm overflows happiness ❤
“Crop failure” Lol 😅 That was funny!!
We all thank you for increasing your variety of content and projects for us to watch.
Yes, please show the hook for the hose!! I'm thinking about some sort of bumpers to avoid strangling my plants and shrubs as I pull the hose around.
Laura and Aaron are so cute! “A: How many do you want? L: I don’t know. A: Say your number. L: 5?! A: OK (with a smile)” So cute! 😍❤
It’s been a cool summer so far here in East TN. I’m loving it!
Good morning! In NE PA it is almost July and still in the 70s!!!! I’ll enjoy it while I can
Same here in SW PA.
Lantana is an annual in S. Indiana, too. We plant them in containers. I've seen them in Tennessee, and they are huge.
The heat and mild winters in NorCalifornia can make them 4' x 4'. We have to watch the types we plant, or they will become monsters!
OH! My internet was down on Sunday morning and I couldn't have my coffee & recap,,, So glad to be catching up!
I have a hoselink thanks to you. I love it!!
You can sell them down at the garden center. The engraved tags
Be careful!🌸
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
Love these recaps!!! Thank-you, Laura & Aaron for doing everything you do. My favorite videos come from you guys. Learn so much each time.
