- So today after Coffee and Cars we got invited to go check out some RC boats. This boat really caught our attention with the 2 giant TP motors and all the 6s lipo batteries.
Here's the specs:
2 TP 5680 800kv motors
2 Flier 22s 400amp ESCs
2 Octura x465 prop
Hull is 57 Skater from Central RC Marine

All the weight in the back this Big boy boat rides & handles near perfect. She definitely doesn't like the chop but that's a given.

I saw the GPS in later runs. He's had it up to 104 mph if I remember right...

Pretty much. My 1750kv impulse31 v3 with the 6s 120amp ESC with cap packs and Octura x645 hit 61mph. Plans to go 8s on that boat soon

It's going 100mph easy... Look at the car on the road driving and how that boat blew past it! That boat is moving, I don't know what everyone is talking about... That's definitely 100mph!!! That thing covering ground fast! Making that big ass lake look like a swimming pool...
That's exactly what I noticed and that car goes at least 60 and passes by it as if it were standing still👍

Guys this is easily 100 mph, there are a couple of Aussie guys running 65 mph single-engine boats half this size.

Joey Gerena faster then 53 for sure. Most likely in the 70+ range. Its a big boat also so it will look like its going slower. But thats a lot of power in that boat. Twins, both running at least 8s

Those are pool noodles instead of poles. They are designed to flop over when hit by an RC boat, and do no damage. Works well!
Oh bud at 1:45 it bussin all of 100mph. Suv in background is easily doing 55mph and it leaves that thing is the past!!!

@@afrog2666 Can't even Tag it a "Speed Run" when there is No devices used to calculate speed of object in question like an onboard GPS or even a less accurate hand held unit. And to mention 100mph in title is just adding Another unwanted bait n switch video on the internet for no apparent reason other than to make the poster feel better about themselves. Bad ass, I had one just like it, I installed a GPS devise though, I hit 106 with mine but I failed to see where 100 is indicated here. I can tell you from personal experience thats not 100, prob around 85. I had a smaller boat running 24v, this guy doesn't have the juice to push that heavy hull to 100 and it looks like he's using plastic props which is mind blowing lol still pretty cool carbon fiber hull. Those are the ones made in Florida, called fighter cat I believe....
I have the px16 converted with dual 3650 3900KV 3s per
it's half as big and just thin molded plastic.
There's nothing major in that boat to wieght it down

..people here are saying their boats are faster.. Comparing bullets to a cannon. Could you just apprieciate how this big boat accelerates so fast. If you want to have the fastest boat build an outrigger saw that could go 200+mph.

I believe its a custom boat. I doubt they sell ready to run boats like this. Get an empty hull and install your own motors and batteries.

Where's the GPS
He did a pretty good job but I’m sure that wasn’t a hundred mph. I know what a 100 mph economic rc cat looks and sounds like at that speed. At top speed, the boat is almost airborne and it just skims the water. They have a tendency to flip at that speed quite a bit. Wind a little wave will send it in the air. Not enough weight there to keep it down.

It has a lot of power but its not going 100! The force of it cannot go exatly 100! It sounds like around 70 0r 80 MPH.Thats still fast for a big boat but its not 100! sorry to break it for u! And u can just put a Stock 2 8S battery's because that can get u over 100! for 16cell or u can just use a car battery.Lol

the number of batteries doesnt really tell you anything about its potential speed. The motor kv, and the prop geometry , together with the battery voltage is what you need. the speed is determined by the rpm of the prop and the prop pitch and diameter. because you cant vary the prop pitch, for speed, you need a very large pitch, which means its slow speed performance would likely be pretty crappy. if your boat has good acceleration, you probably dont have the right pitch for speed. you also need a decent diameter as diameter is king. if you are cavitating at high speed, you are basically driving an egg beater. did you doppler the video or use a speed gun?..it doesnt look like 100mph. but its hard to tell from video with no reference point. Water craft always look much faster than they are. 50mph on water looks like a 100mph aircraft, for example.
It's in the 80's at best.
You can work out if the prop is right by viewing your telemetry. When the consumed power drops off against what is expected, it's probably cavitating.
