Just a wonderful presentation of the material - no chatter, not understandable to 50% of people who are interested! But everything is clear without blah blah blah!
I'm absolutely in awe of your skill and dedication. I'm so relieved you didn't sell it, I hope it can stay in your family for many generations to come.
Excellent craftsmanship a great inspiration to would be boat builders..this is your legacy ...do not sell it but enjoy it for the rest of your life..well done my fellow Englishman
I live in the desert of Arizona and there are many lakes/rivers/boats out here but not a boater myself. Spent most of my youth on the East Coast and grew to love these all wood boats. I watched the entire video in awe of your dedication to the craft and was rewarded by the final shots of her beautiful completion. Kudos to you for this build and posting for even us land lubbers to enjoy. Thanks.
I love that the name has been milled in the valve cover too. Gives it some extra special feel. Job well done. I love to see wooden boats. They have more class and most of the time look better. But that said, I would never ever trade my grp cruiser for a wooden one due to the work you have on wooden hulls but it is a delight to look at. True eye candy. Keep up the good work.
That rudder system is a true work of art!! Well done, sir! That is a beautiful boat! You will not be sorry you kept her... unless you didn't (seeing this 10 yrs later).
What an exquisite boat. What an exquisite build. My heart broke at 5 minutes when I saw the crusty old engine. And it soared at 17 minutes when I saw it was rebuilt!
Excellent work on the 3 themes, and I'll add the following captivating and well-realized themes: videos, photos, music, scenarios, summary... In short, congratulations Dan Lee Boatbuilding, everything is wonderfully well done with passion and wisdom.
Beautiful work of art more than a boat. Talk about a passion project 2000 hours. Wow! At $100 a hour that's 200k and then materials and supplies. I wouldn't sell for less than $250k
This gives all wrong ideas to the youth, not a lot of crafstmen make $100,- an hr. Let alone on 1000 hr jobs. You'll need to study hard and/or have a 30+ year flawless trackrecord and do the same work in a quarter of the time.
What an Absolutely Brilliant Build. You just Have to be Super Proud .... You captured the Old-School look Perfectly, right down to the Instrumentation and Steering-Wheel .... As an Engineer I can truly appreciate All the Work that has gone into the Build. All the 'Metal-Work' is so matched to the theme .... Best to You and Yours .... Cheers from NZ
As a fellow restorer of things, I am qualified to say that you sir are an absolute legend. That is some samurai level dedication. Shokunin - to master ones craft.
Stunning! You should be very proud. Loved every minute. I was particularly happy when it got the final wet sand and buff. Every bit of the beauty is a testament to your patience and skill. Top shelf!
Gorgeous job. Really liked your fine line spacing of the deck planks. Metal work sets off the boat beautifully, provides protection and adds to the structural strength of the build.
Watching this video was absolutely the most fun I’ve had in weeks. Congratulations to you on a beautiful execution of a flawless design. She is perfect! Or is it a flawless execution of a beautiful design? Either way it is pure pleasure to watch her take shape.
I wish I had your skills. Personally, the only thing different I would have done is put a modern engine in it. Something fuel injected and low maintenance. But what a beautiful job.
I have a couple of questions... What sort of wood did you use for the deck and topsides? It looks like Sapele to me but i can't really tell. What stain did you use and how to act or react to being encapsulated with epoxy? Also, about your Ford engine... did it come out of another boat or did you marinize it from another vehicle? If you marinized an auto engine, did you fabricate your own water jacketed exhaust system? Also, did you also fabricate your own shift lever? I ask these questions because I'm building a Mist Miss designed by Glen-L. I've watched your fanastic video several times through and I'm completely blown away at your fastideous attention to detail and your desire to get things just right. You have a number of design elements in your boat here that I want to incorporate into my project. You have solved several issues for me. I deeply thank you for this video because you have given me a number of answers to questions that have been plaguing me. I've build other boats before but I really want to pull out all the stops on my current build and your project has given me great inspiration.
You have an extraordinary level of skill .one of the best things I've seen made on utube and I have seen a lot . Hope you have many years of enjoyment out on the water with her
Dan Lee you have just became my favorite channel. This my friend, is the Mona Lisa of boats. Absolutely exquisite. I have not seen such a beautiful thing before
Okay, so, when I first saw this boat on a different video I was impressed by its evocative beauty, now that I know you have fabricated it from scratch, I’m speechless. You should be very proud of yourself, and rightly so. Simply outstanding.
@@DanLeeBoatbuilding that boat is absolutely gorgeous 😍 very well put together not that is one massive achievement I dont blame you for not selling it.
Fair play mate that is absolutely stunning what a project and it must feel amazing cruising down the river in it especially as you did the whole thing yourself you have some mad skills mate 👊👊
Wow! Great job. Beautiful boat! Makes me want to get back to work on my 1925 44 foot hoffar. Will check out more of your videos. You definitely went above and beyond on this one👏
I'm new to boats...this looks similar to a cracker box boat....I'm in the process of rebuilding/hotrodding a mid 40s Merc flathead V8 and seriously contemplating using it in a similar boat.....very nice build btw
I love watching a dream being fulfilled! I’m still working on mine and hopefully it will be in the water next summer! Great motivational video! Thanks.
I know it has been 4 years since you posted your video, but I want to say thank you for sharing it and she came out beautiful!
