We had an element. I forget what they called it...but it had like AWD when needed. The hauling capacity was crazy. We took the back seats out and picked up a used full size washer and dryer from about 45 mins away and drove home with both of them in the back at the same time...with the door completely closed. It was a great car. However, the AC unit went out...and we found out that the part was expensive and hard to get to...it was a combined part...condenser/dryer and parts and labor it was going to be over $2000....in 2010s money. The only car Honda made with that specific part....so...I didn't have AC for 2 years. Other than that...really good. I think I got 28 combined mpg.

As a budget customer, I usually wouldn't purchase the Top trims because they're way more expensive as compared to a mid trim.
We understand that you can only review a limited number of cars given the time, but for the most popular cars, such as Civic, CRV, Corolla and RAV4, it would be useful to review a few budget trims as well.

I bought a CRV sport last week and drove to Edmonton. From Edmonton I drove my friends new Rav4 Limited to Jasper. Comparing the two the Rav 4 had a harder ride, and reved hard when over taking. The CRV had better torque delivery for overtaking. The CRV had a softer ride and the auto drive mode with the lane assist was waay better. The RAV 4 lane assist kept on adjusting and was really a safety hazard at times. The RAV 4 had better all round cameras for reversing. But not needed if you do old school parking using the cameras. Overall I preferred the CRV. Day to day driving it was softer and easier to throw around. I love your channel, but please please please keep in mind the target demographic when reviewing the vehicles. Ive looked at so many SUV video reviews and they cover things that are not relevant to my buying needs. The Rav 4 was faster in your review, but in the real world, I drove in the mountains. We had a truck veer into our lane when we were overtaking(we had a child in the car). I floored it, the RAV4 gave high revs and no actual torque. On the CRV, the the torque delivery was waay better and better suited for over taking in hard situations as I described. Both are good vehicles, but redo the review with a road trip with a 10 year old child. Different pros and cons come out with both vehicles.

I’ve always been a Honda guy and still love them. I’m giving my folks my 2011 CRV EXL with 140,000 miles on it and I trust it will work for them for years to come. That said, I’m buying a 2021 Rav 4 TRD. A couple reasons. Towing is up to 3500 pounds. Good size disc brakes. Oversized radiator, transmission cooler and 150 amp alternator. 8 speed transmission means it will be easier on the engine. I’m 65 and it’s the lady car I’m planning on owning, so buying new and maintaining it from mile one is important to me. Looking forward to trying the heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel in the winter and all the optional off rode settings. Sounds like great gas mileage as well. Lastly, the style of the Rav 4 is mush better in my opinion. Either make wins, it’s all personal choice

Rav4 is easily better. CRV is still good but drives pretty crappy and has that groany noise when you try to floor it and lack of power. RAV4 also trumps over CRV because Rav4 has hybrid powertrain whereas CRV lacks that (in the canadian market). @@davidt3880 physical AWD is very different in its capability so they are veryyy different. that type of MPG is very negligible and completely matters about how you drive. horsepower doesn’t matter on a hybrid it’s for efficiency if you want power get a sports car 💀. If you get a hybrid why would you tow? that like cancels out the efficiency of it… The batteries will last forever so it doesn’t matter

The Tucson would have electrical problems and engine problems when it gets 5 years old because they put a lot of tech in their cars and their engines keep setting on fire.

Toyota and Honda have their fair share of issues too! And these cars are now 4 - 5 years old.
The crv has a fuel pump recall, causes loss of power (dangerous while driving).
      Similar recall for toyota/Lexus.
All 3 manufacturers have good reliability.

We’ve owned 2 CRVs. They were fine family cars. That being said, every generation of this model seems to get uglier. I’d go with the Rav4 for several reasons, but one is because it’s a better looking vehicle.

I have an old model of each in the driveway right now. They last forever. On a modern version, a CVT or a Turbo would be a choice that I would be cautious of for longevity.
