    Cant go wrong with either of these excellent cars. RAV4 has some advantages: 1. Spare tire, 2. Panoramic roof option, 3. Ventilated seats, 4. Rear camera is better, and perhaps most important of all 5. Better fuel economy. CRV has 1. More interior space, 2. More cargo space, and (subjective) 3. Better looks

    Went CRV Touring. Buying is very difficult because MSRP is not where it ends. In this market the dealers are adding mandatory accessories (low jack, door guards, wheel locks, etc and so forth) to raise margin even more. Also availability is horrible in general across the industry. No one seems to have cars on the ground ready to sell. You have to wait and only buy what has been allocated to the dealer which alienates consumers and gives you no ability to negotiate price at all. Honda had the easiest process, no market adjustments to the already HIGH msrp.

    I just bought a 2020 Rav4 XLE. My wife bought a 2021 CRV HYbrid XLE a few months ago. Crazy but I get to try both and still love the Rav 4. My fear with a Hybrid is still teh problems of batteries and cost of changing them, my CONventional Rav 4 gets great mileage when compared to most any Gas powered SUV, I get power and still about 26 city and I have not had it on a long drive as I just bought it two weeks ago. I also did not like the Electric push buttong Transmission and am surprised Honda went back to the old Stick SHifting feel. The ability to pull a stick into gear sold me and was a major reason I did not go with a Honda. I also found that both are still hard to find USed and Longo Toyota (worlds largest car dealership) says they will not take anymore new orders as they already are backed up 2 years of orders. THey told me TOyota did not increase their produciton after COVID and is behind. So, I hope to be able to find a 2023 Rav 4 in about 3 years to buy. In any case, buying a Used Rav 4 or CRV, regardless of trim is expensive and usually minimum of $3000 more than the car cost when new. I can't even imagine the problem with buying a new TOyota and have no idea what buying a new CRV is like. One last thought is that the quality is great and they both are rated to run over 250,000 miles. It is hard to beat that, I was a BMW owner until I saw the Japanese by far beat them in Quality for price and length of time their products stay on the road.

    I have a 2020 CR-V EX-L, and I love it. It’s the first car that I’m seriously considering a lease buy-out. I’ve been looking at hybrid vehicles this time (lease ends in July), but the residual value of my CR-V too good to pass up, compared to the new car prices which are ridiculous! When I was in the market for a new car in 2020, I considered the RAV-4, but I just couldn’t get past the cheap interior feel and the over-all cheap looking exterior. The same is true this year.

    I went with the CR-V hybrid and I'm pretty impressed so far. I've have averaged 40.4 mpg in mixed driving on the computer since I got it. At my first fill-up, the calculation came to 41.2, so the on-board computer seems to be pretty accurate. It has been raining cats and dogs, so I think it might do a little better on dry roads. Having driven both the Toyota CVT and the Honda "eCVT" (I used quotes because Honda's eCVT uses no belts - it's really not a CVT in any customary use of the word) I much preferred the Honda. Plus, the current iteration of the Toyota is becoming very dated while the CRV is fresh.

    • @williamzachary3838
      @williamzachary3838 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Bruce Wayne most recently I've been between getting between 44 and 46.5 calculated at the pump (the on-board computer consistently reads a little less). I doubt it'll get much better than that, and I'm perfectly happy with a midsized AWD SUV with this fuel economy. I hope it'll do at or around 40 this summer when I'm on some road trips with my whitewater kayak on top.

    and the RAV-4 design at the back looks like layer cake’s and the tires also got black plaster, so many black plaster, make RAV-4 like cheaper class

    The Exterior design Rav4 doesn’t look as premium as CR-V & also CR-V's interior cavin looks more fresh and modern than the Rav4.

      I rented a gas ‘22 RAV4 for 3 months. (I drive a full size truck). Brakes and handling were excellent. I avg’d 28 mpg - reaching 35 Hwy. Four cyl was buzzy and had a delay on initial throttle input but ride was excellent. Cargo space was good, interior space adequate for my 6’ - 3” frame. I just wish the hatch opening was taller. Interior quality really good and ergonomics were first rate. Dash lighting was very good, cloth seats comfortable. I’d get the faster hybrid with 40 mpg city. Rav4 has more features than the new Honda, another good car. RAV4’s small screen, base radio connected to my iPhone effortlessly and sound was surprisingly good. I recommend renting any car you’re thinking of buying. The rav4 is a very good crossover. 👍

      @David Each yet What I did was I hit the throttle before I took off to get the revs up. There might be a chip you can install that will change a setting in the computer. I’d contact a few of those performance companies who may make a tune for the rav4. Banks has a product called “pedal monster” which changes computer settings so the throttle is instantaneous. The vehicle feels faster but might not be faster. Look into it. If I had a diesel, I’d get it. TH-cam videos seem to like the unit. The RAV4 is a good veh.

    Overall, I'd have to go with the Toyota. Toyota has got hybrids down to a fine art as evidenced by it's greater efficiency. I know that the CRV has more cargo space on paper but in the video, the CRV's cargo floor didn't look as open. There were structures intruding from both sides of the car that looked like they might interfere with loading some items. There's one thing you did in your comparison that most folks do in these kinds of videos. You gave the CRV extra points because it has larger diameter wheels. Within limits, that's ok but most times, I'm not impressed with having the largest wheels no matter what, especially on an SUV style vehicle.
