    when rhino-rack released the original
pioneer platform several years ago it
took the Australian market by storm
compared to its steel counterparts it
had several advantages it was lighter
    weight and naturally corrosion resistant
but still tough enough to handle off
road conditions as the platform grew in
popularity we began to expanded global
markets and it's become a cornerstone of
our business when it came time to design
a successor to the pioneer we took
everything we learned from the original
and distilled it into four primary goals
the platform needed to be rugged so
could take any condition the customer
throws at it it needed to be adaptable
so that it could fit any vehicle without
    modification keeping the platform light
but strong is definitely a real
challenge but every vehicle has a limit
to how much it can carry and every gram
that goes into the platform is one less
that you can carry on top many of our
    customers are professional installers
and time is money so the installation
process needed to be simple easy and
    straightforward balancing these factors
to deliver a superior product was a big
task and late last year we were proud to
    introduce the all-new pioneer
most platforms on the market including
    the original pioneer required adapting
    hardware or destructive modifications to
the product to fit it to the vehicle
eliminating extra weight and cost during
the installation was essential for both
our professional installers and the DIY
crowd and needed to be straightforward
at the core of the new pioneer is our
    aluminium extrusions and patented
    infinite adjustability the crossbars
located on the underside of the platform
can be positioned anywhere along the
length this enables the Pioneer to fit
any vehicle by simply adjusting the
spacing of these bars the profile of the
    crossbars has also been carefully
designed now any fitting system from
rhino-rack fixes to the bars without
    adapters significantly reducing the
number of parts required to support our
wide range of vehicle fits even after
    we've increased the platform strength
added lots of extra features including
the adaptability of the under bars the
Pioneer has 30% fewer components than
the original and still maintains its
position as one of the lightest
platforms on the market let's take a
closer look at the installation process
positioning the under bars couldn't be
easier there's a printed ruler on the
underside which can be viewed through
the windows in the crossbars you never
need to pull out a measuring tape to get
it right and because the ruler is on
both sides this ensures that everything
is squared up the first time when you
crack open the box to your new pioneer
first thing you'll notice is all the
plastics gone we've moved in favor of
    more sustainable materials in the
packaging now what you see here is an
early prototype and we've been able to
    significantly reduce the volume of
material since then and will continue to
do so as we move towards more
    sustainable products in the original
    pioneer some assembly was required
before you're ready to install but with
the new one everything's already in
place and just needs to be adjusted now
my mate Ben here's a pro with thousands
of installations under his belt he makes
both look easy but if you're a first
timer it is possible to make a mistake
and every step in the process increases
the likelihood that you might so if you
get a measurement wrong or drill a hole
    in the wrong
but it could be frustrating at best and
potentially damaging to the product at
worse with the new system the user just
needs to adjust the crossbars to the
    correct position
which is indicated on their instructions
lock them down install the lake's and
    you're ready to go
the original pioneer required many tools
to assemble and install and most of
those had to be provided by the customer
but in the new platform all the tools
required for the assembly are included
in the box now a cordless drill will
help things go faster but it isn't
required and the included torque tool
ensures that every fastener is tightened
correctly keeping your gear secure and
    safe

I wish they spent some time on wind noise and buffeting .

Hey Shreck, I experienced similar wind noise with Pioneer Rack fitted to my 2021 Navara 4X4!
New Navara has a fairly large gap due to roof slope!
I purchased a slightly larger Pool Noodle, cut to size then sprayed it Matt black , snug fitted in the leading edge gap with Zip Ties and this has significantly reduced noise! Might be worth a try! 🇦🇺🦘🤙

They sent me the old one just last month! And missing bolts. And the Tech had never assembled or put one on. I had waited over a month to get it in the mail, now I feel like I got the leftovers

Roof rails would be a nice update. Looking forward to those this year.

Underside bars are fully adjustable so no need for drilling the platform and make for easier fitment on the NEW 50000 series.
Accessory slots on the front and read extrusion (top and bottom) created more opportunities for fitting accessories on the NEW 50000 series.
Powder coat finish is superior on new version.
Greater ability to run wiring through corners on the NEW 50000 series.
Stronger systems with each plank bolts to each underside bar twice on the NEW 50000 series.

Yeah but are your roof racks still falling off peoples cars because you don’t make it obvious for people about the poor off road ratings?

Please ensure you check the manufacturer's roof load limit for your vehicle and take this into account. Be aware the weight of the roof rack needs to be deducted to find your load limit. Some manufacturers only warranty their products for on-road use or reduce the load limit for off-road use. To find out more please read the product PDFs or contact us.
