Listened this video with my Xtreme 2 and can confirm that the Boom 2 has more bass rumble and not as ear piercing and ear fatiguing as the Charge 5 but overall both speakers are great 👍 (I have a Charge 5 but will be getting the Boom 2 on Christmas)
JLB typically clearer bass mids and highs….crisper sound. My wish is that JBL would buiild two different Charge 5’s……one exactly like this…..and one with a handle design like Soundcore Boom 1 and 2. Motion Booms are great for people who like a softer sound, less edge to the notes.
I have both and even though the ch5 is good the Boom2 is better. And the soundcore having a handle makes it far more portable than the awkward too carry ch5. The Boom2’s equalizer gives it more potential also as the charge5 equalizer doesn’t let you tune the ch5 out of the JBL signature sound to call it a custom tuning.
At Boom 2 mids and highs sounds like somehow in the distance, muted. And the bass frequencies of Boom 2 also sound separated than its mids and trebs. The bass seems to be forced in a resonance. I don't know. I had expectations from Boom 2, but now I doubt of it.
I bought charge 5, and even though it has such a crispy, and amazing sound, the bass is not there. I don’t understand why it’s being advertised to have a punch but volumes over 70% bass totally disappears , and even lower volume than that bass is noticeable but, it’s not as good as I expected it to be. I am getting a boom 2 today, and will probably return the jbl. Price is simply not what u pay for unless you’re more like an “audiophile”
Great video. I do have a quick question for you. Does your JBL Link 300 restart every night at 1AM? I have three of them and a Link 500 and all of them restart at exactly 1AM everyday.
I've never noticed that happening. I'm at work at 1AM during the week, so I wouldn't know if it did that or not. I have a white Link 300 next to my bed and it always seems to be fine unless the power has gone out recently.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews Thanks. I've reached out to JBL several times and they just ignore me so once I saw this video I figured I'd ask. Appreciate the response.
Which speaker do you think is better, the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus or the JBL Xtreme 4? 🤔 Is it true that the Boom 2 Plus is made of cheap plastic? I'm undecided which one to buy🤔
I got 2 boom 2s for cheaper than 1 boom 2 plus. And since you can connect both boom 2s to each other to play both at the same time I’m going to put them both in different parts of my home so I can hear music throughout my house.
I think the overall better speaker is the Xtreme 4, but it's not by that much and certainly not by as much as the price difference. The Boom 2 is a very solid little boombox.
Yall trippin if yall say yall would choose the charge 5 over the soundcore unless you value portability the soundcore has WAY more bass then even my Xtreme 3 its SUPER impressive. Considering its 130 soundcore EASY EASY win here as far as sound goes it's cheaper and sounds better
Yes it has more bass then the Xtreme even plugged in and the bass from the soundcore is just overall deeper and has WAY more presence and depth to its bass that middle subwoofer makes a HUGE Difference but the Xtreme has it's perks 1 it looks better in my opinion it gets louder and sounds more powerful at higher volumes it also doesn't distort at higher valumes like the soundcore does and it has a more professional tuned sound and the fact that it gets a performance booste plugged in is also a good perk too but I like the bass and the lights on the soundcore so much that to me it's even better then the Xtreme 3 and a no brainer if you had to choose @@phrocasso5906
@@687donny good stuff... I might try the boom 2 when on sale, towards the end of the year or so because I know soundcore will release more stuff... They ready released a hundred of them in the last 5 months

Not sure I have a clear favorite, but do like the Tribit Stormbox Blast quite a bit. It does everything above average, IMO. The JBL Encore was under $200 for a while and that is a tough one to beat at that price, plus it has great bass. The Soundcore Rave Neo 2 is sometimes $99.99 and that is an outstanding speaker for that price. The W-King T9 Pro just recently came out for under $200 and it is a very nice speaker, larger, with solid bass.
@JaysStraightUpReviews - thanks Jay for the info. I was thinking the Tribit or JBL as well, but knew you may have more options. Appreciate it. Keep the great reviews coming!
Мне стоит поменять SONY XG-500 на JBL Encore? Понятно, что время автономной работы Encore слабое. Но играет ли он громче чем Sony для пьяной вечеринки? Сомневаюсь...@@JaysStraightUpReviews
I'm going to tell you now that's like bringing a knife to a gunfight lol. The only thing equal about that comparison is the price and JBL got its butt kicked LOL
@@akop87 I was in a little town in Jackson Missouri found three of them on a clearance aisle. Bought one for 150 bucks. A week later I went back down there they had one left and had $100 marked on it. Seen another one at a Walmart in Illinois. Not every Walmart's got them and they don't advertise them online. Needless to say I own two of them now LOL
The Stormbox pro is a totally different speaker as the form factor is much different from the Boom2, the Stormbox Pro is a 360 speaker whereas the Boom2 is more traditional with having a subwoofer and 2 tweeters for "stereo" effect.
I don't have the Stormbox Pro anymore. I had the older version that wasn't app compatible and I refused to buy another one. As mentioned, it is a multi-directional speaker, with two drivers firing opposite of each other and a down-firing woofer. That would be more comparable to something like the Tronsmart T7, which has the same layout.
It's a tough call for me. I do like that the Charge 5 is more compact, but I think you get a slight edge in sound quality with the Boom 2's two tweeters and one woofer design.

Thank you for this battle. I think the Charge 5 sounds great. Especially 2 of them in stereo. Or better yet 4 of them in each corner of a room 😂
For it's size and 2 driver layout, the Charge 5 is a really nice speaker.
Can't be stereo. Impossible. You have 2 monos playing the same thing.
You can pair for stereo@@gooddaysahead1
Hello, greetings. The Soundcore Boom 2 speaker. Is it a good speaker? Do you recommend it? 🤔
It's certainly a good option if you need a smaller boombox style speaker.

That's up to each person. Both are good speakers, but the Boom 2 probably would be considered the better of the two to most people.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews Do you think the Charge 5 has better construction materials?
I would go with the Charge 5 if everything regarding the sound and volume is that close. Its just smaller.

Obviously boom2 gets louder, but is the boom 2 still clear with the bass up on??
The Boom 2 isn't as loud as Soundcore tries to market it as. They claim 3x louder than the Motion Boom. Come on, man. 😆
