I could not eat or sleep for days. eventually she broke up with me & married person from her own caste.

Look in his eyes, thinking how dare I even thought I could marry his daughter.how he was looking down on me, I cant forget. Even though I am an adult It has scarred me for life. I cant imagine what it would do to a child.

I'm also a Brahmin, and the only solution here is that the government needs to get control over education system,we need to to abolish private schools and colleges,we only need public schools and government has to make sure that fees are low ,and the most important get the childrens of SC and STs in school ,Improve the education of country ,this poisonous idea of caste which has destroyed India and Hindusim, this snake of Caste needs to killed at the earliest stages of child's life,3rd Desegregate our schools make sure that childrens of General Category , children of OBCs and children of SCs are studying together, children are innocent when they growup together they form strong bonds,I'm myself used to study in a school that was the funded by a Government own company so you can it was just like a government school where fees were really low,in my class including me only 4-5 students were Brahmins from 50 students all of my other friends were from other general category like Maratha ,but many of my friends were from OBC category my bestfriend was also an OBC but none of us had a problem with eachother because of our caste, our teachers were also from from different castes from Brahmins to SCs but never in my entire school life I have seen my teachers discriminate with students,my Favourite teacher was a SC but I never faced any discrimination from him because I was a Brahmin, problem is that our education system is segregated most People of General Category and People from Rich OBCs families send their children to private schools and colleges where fees are expensive af it is impossible for a Child of an SC and our lower income OBCs to enter these institutions and those who managed to enter enter because of reservations, and let me tell you these private schools and colleges are Evil as fuck ,these guys keep students of low income families (mostly till 8th) because law requires them to give some seats to students from low-income families, but trust me when I say these fucker private schools don't give that seats to the children that deserve, and even if they do they humiliate them when they don't pay fees to the extent that the child will just want to die instead of attending these schools, and their classmates also starts to bully them well what the fuck do expect from students when teacher themselves humiliate these children infront of class ,and the children who somehow manage to survive till 8th gets kicked out in an instance by these private schools if fees are not paid, when I started my 11th and 12th was and entered a private college i saw a lot of difference first being that a lot of my my teachers were now of General Category,a lot of students were from general category and the students from other categories that were present were from richer backgrounds, and I also studied from State board and my other friends at college who were also from general category and among them only I was the one who studied in a public school, all my other friends were mostly from CBSE or even ICSE one of my friend was from an international School while discussing I was proudly telling him how our school took us for one day India vs Australia test match, but my friend from international school told me that for their school the went to Daman and Diu and there school made them stay in a 5 star hotel ,who could a education institute that on paper is not running for profit managed to their students for such expensive trips, ofcourse then these private colleges don't want children of low caste or low income students in their high institutions, just think being a kid of low-income who get in these schools, how must would he feel when all of your classmates are going to trip but you can't go,the sad facts is that our education system is being hijacked by the private institutions which secretly owned by politicians ,and is one of the leading causes for Castes discrimination in the country,we need to learn from other countries like US(note: I'm not a fan of US ) it also had huge problem of discrimination between the whites and Blacks but they also Desegregated their schools which lead to a Massive fall in the racism.

I am Brahmin and same as JSD i was also from state board and i did always feel inferior to people from CBSE and ICSE board but still i always tooped later when i got into college when i had to compete with those students. It's always about the hardwork and talent that gives you results. Being from upper caste community or being from more prestigious board doesn't ensure anything. It's so wrong to say just because you are from a particular community that's called upper class that means you have to get atleast 10% more marks than people from different community to pass the same examination just like it would have been unfair if they had let me pass with lesser marks than the cbse board students just because i was from state board.
I completely agree that caste based discrimination still exists in our society even though not in a huge margin but in remote villages of our country. I have seen it from my own eyes and we do need to fix that but providing reservation to the entire community isn't the way out.. because trust me people who are still exploited are not getting any help out of it. The only ones benefitting from it are the people from the category who doesn't even need it anymore and that's where it goes wrong. It won't be pleasant for me to see my classmates or friends from SC ST category who have all the resources they need because they are from a financially well background and that's because their parents and grandparents both were in govt services, pass the examinations without even working as much hard as i am.
The point is you won't find many cases of people from the SC ST community getting discriminated on the basis of caste who actually are financially strong. It's always the poor ones from that community who is facing this. That's the main reason why reservation should be based on economic conditions and not on community.
The irony is caste based reservation was brought to even out the difference and promote equality and brotherhood among people from all the category but today it's only doing the opposite. Caste based reservation is inducing hatred and anger among the general category people for the SC ST category which will only broader the gap between them.

Most of points I totally agree.
Of course reservation making little bit trouble, for division of society. But I believe there's still division in our hearts. But atleast reservation makes them to reach some position, help them to take part of our elite society, access main stream society.

@@shibajidalai2014 okay tell me this if a person who has gotten the benefits of reservation and now has reached that position you were talking about do you think they can now marry a person from the so called upper caste community. I don't think so. At the same time a person from SC ST category will also not allow their children to marry someone from the Brahmins community and the same goes for OBC's too. That's what casteism is. It is not about rich and poor it's about the community difference and this thing called caste based reservation is only widening those differences. If you want to remove the caste difference you ll have to remove the caste identification of the society and not remind everyone that they belong to certain community which is what caste based reservation does. We weren't even aware what caste does our friends belong to untill we got to know our cut off marks for the same examinations are different.
If you ask me I don't believe in marriage within caste. I think people should marry whom they want to marry irrespective of caste. Bringing the issue of inter caste marriage is distracting from the entire discussion that reservation should be based on financial conditions and not on caste and community.

Consider a scenario where a poor general category student, despite being exceptionally intelligent and capable, faces significant financial constraints. This student may have had to overcome numerous obstacles to access quality education, including limited resources, inadequate study materials, and a lack of access to expensive coaching classes. Despite these challenges, they managed to excel academically through sheer determination and hard work.
On the other hand, there might be a rich reserved category student who, due to their family's financial affluence, had access to the best educational resources, private tutors, and extracurricular activities. While this student may not have the same level of innate talent or determination as the poor general category student, their privileged background provided them with a significant advantage in terms of educational opportunities.
In such a scenario, when both students compete for a limited number of educational seats or job opportunities, the rich reserved category student, who might have had a more comfortable educational journey, could secure the position solely based on their category reservation. In this scenario who do you think will have an inferiority complex ?? Who do you this has an unfair advantage ??

Reservation controversy is so wide in its dimension that certain facts and figures and a laid set of laws will not apply to everyone. It will be flawed till individual parameters are not taken into to check creditability of candidate. A set of moral ability checking parameters must be incorporated and if someone doesn't live up to those must be rejected. Left over seats then must be filled over.

The problem is if the father is earning 10 lakhs per year, and his son is still getting reservation, is he not depriving a more needy candidate of the job, having studied in light, fan and AC as against a poor slum dweller's son...

If the system of caste reservetion was on the basisi of confidence, then it did its job very fine. Being a general male candidate for the upcoming JEE examination,i am in low confidence and made to beleive the truth that I have a lower hand in the examination and the competition still remains the same.
Infact, I come from the rural areas of uttar pradesh...but since my childhood I have never seen any act of caste based discrimination in my neighbourhood and anywhere around me....and if anywhere it is even happening then government should do the work for removing this discrimination....and steps like caste based reservation will surely increase it.....thats my view on this topic.

If at all speaking about confidence and mental state of the child is the main matter, then to think about the mental state of a parent is equally important..like what about the change in fee structure for certain course based on caste...
Like for ex, what if one comes from considerably correlated as lower cast and is rich and on the other hand if someone is associated to higher caste but poor.. so in the interest of this reservation that particular person from lower caste enjoys two benefit(reservation and lower fee) and one from the higher caste have two nightmare like first he have to study 10 times more as the cut off is 6-10 times different for open and SC (for JEE if cut off for open is 75 percentile, then for SC its just 10 at times) and also that person have to go through economic trauma as well to pay the full fee..and even after that when both are released in to society after education as citizens, the lower caste one also enjoys the reservation for job..
So I personally believe, its high time for a change, and the reservation should be just based on economical inequality..
