I'm new to VR and I just wanted to tell you that out of all the VR hosts out there I like your channel. Smooth delivery, easy to understand, attention to detail. Even a NOOB like me can keep up. Keep them coming. PS I picked up the Kiwi H-4.
The Quest 2 Elite strap does the same thing as the K4, and I actually like it. I put it in my head and just squeeze it to a comfortable tightness, no fiddling with the dial.
Excellent review and comparison of all those headstraps. Personally, I think the best combination is the BOBOVR S3 and that beautiful Oblik…the built in fan works perfectly with the vented Oblik and is so comfortable I can play for hours. For the older BOBOVR headstraps that use the old batteries, you could buy the B100 upgrade (that comes with a B100 battery) and allow the old headstrap to use the more powerful B100 battery.
The H4 is lighter (as it doesn't have a battery). The H4 boost has a thicker back strap as it includes the integrated battery, and therefore is also heavier. Other than that they're the same.
If you have a small head. Do not get Bobovr Halo strap or any type of halo strap. because for me having a smaller head where it's Supposed to distribute the weight more on your forehead. It's not even on your forehead. So like if you take your facial interface off and do the one mode Bobo VR says you can do where you can look around still. It doesn't sit on my face correctly, so it keeps falling off. So if you have a small head, I would probably recommend one of the lead strap ones. Show a combo I would recommend is one of the lead straps. Most likely with a battery attached to the back of it for better balance It may be like AAMVR facial interface that has the extended head.
I know I’m late but I’m hoping you could answer two quick questions. My wife and I are thinking about getting the BOBO M3 with batteries but only have two questions we can’t find an answer to. 1) Do the magnetic batteries ever fall off? 2) how significant is the weight of the extra 100 grams? Like could you tell the difference?
@ thanks so much. I was just telling my wife how much I liked your style and demeanor when reviewing. The comment is greatly appreciated. I saw an ad for a competing brand that showed the battery flying off and I was thinking “that doesn’t seem right but it would suck if it happened”
The B100 battery consists of two cells, wired in series, not parallel. So technically not a true 10,000mAH battery. You'll find you won't actually get as much additional gameplay time as you might think. I'm an M3 Pro user but suggested to my wife to try the H4 Boost for her new Quest 3.
I got my quest 3s about 2-3 weeks ago and I got the bobo VR s3 pro with it and I tried on the stock head strap and my big ahh head couldn’t fit and I broke it😂 (boboVR was an amazing decision)
Any head strap is going to be ok for glasses users. It’s the facial interface that you need to make sure is compatible with your glasses. Alternatively you can look at getting prescription lenses for your headset.
Thanks for the video! I was looking at the Globular Cluster one (because I too have a large head), but the BOBOVRM3 Plus does look like it makes more sense. Is it also big head compatible? Or did you find that it had a tight squeeze?
@@MyTechGearGaming yay, but that would make it the perfect head strap. That and maybe a little bit more secondary battery capacity. There's 3rd party cables already out there that can both tether and charge.
Really like this video. Super helpful. I have a quest 2 with halo type of strap called gomvr. Absolutely hated. It caused so much headache. Tried kiwi after that and loved it. I’m keen to get one with battery this time and bobovr seem good built. Would you recommend it even if I had previous history about halo.
It depends on what you didn’t like about the gomvr one. Halo type head straps are not as tight fitting on your face as the headset kind of floats in front of your face as it’s predominantly supported by the forehead strap. As opposed to a clam shell style that clamps the headset to your face so is tighter. I did do a video comparing halo to elite style head straps so it might be worth you watching that.
Thanks! I’ll watch the video. I guess I didn’t like when quest 2 went blurry with halo and tried fitting as tight as possible, gave me headache like wearing wrong eyeglasses.
Hi MGT Gaming it is my dream to have a meta quest i think i might get one very soon but i have heard that the headstrap is really uncomfortable i am asking if it is possible if you can send me a nice headstrap that i can use with my meta quest. Thanks
Hey man what would you recommend for exercise? I've heard there's been a lot of RMAs because of sweating damaging the unit, and the Q3 is the first VR I've bought, so not sure where to go (despite your videos!) Should I not use an interface and get a halo so it avoids sweat and fog? I've got a meta quest elite strap without batt but tbh I regret it and definitely should have got something with batteries, didn't realise how bad the basic batt is!
@tomiic4994 generally elite style head straps can be cranked tighter and so are better suited to fitness and fast moving games. The facial interface makes a huge difference as well though as different materials, and also venting in the facial interface itself, can help keep you cooler, and stop you sweating so much. Check out my other videos for reviews on those.
Do you have any recommendations for something that's low-profile? I use it in laying down mode to watch movies frequently so a big block on the back of my head isn't really all that ideal for me. I'm -almost- okay with the stock strap, but I'm interested in seeing if there's any more comfortable options that don't make my headset a big honkin chungus thing.
The S3 is tempting, but the fan seemed silly to me. Then I found some random no-name brand. It has hundreds of positive reviews, but I can't find any video reviews on youtube.. I wish it had swappable batteries like the Bobo S3. But I can buy 3 of the headbands for the same cost as 1 S3. It makes me question the prices. Three batteries and headbands for the cost of 1 S3. Plus the reviews say it is more comfortable than Bobovr headbands. I could just swap the whole headband out to recharge it. Too many options. The swappable batteries is really tempting, but I think I will get the cheaper one and see how it goes. It can be used when recharging too.
They all adjust pretty easily. A halo head strap might be slightly easier as you don’t have a top strap to adjust, but then you likely going to have to adjust the position of the headset on the arms of the strap. So theres really not much difference.
@ appreciate that! I was leaning toward the Meta Elite band w/battery for ease of use, but based off your reviews we’re gonna trial the two Kiwis and BoboVR w/batteries to see what we prefer. Do you overall recommend the BoboVR?
Hey man, does the new AMVR facial interface model with cooling gel fit with the bobo s3 pro head strap on the quest 3? I just ordered these two through Amazon and would love to hear back from you! Thank you for your videos 🙏
I did a review of the s3 pro and tested it with the amvr interface in that video. The newer version is the same size so I would expect similar results.
I'm using the AMVR one that I reviewed in one of my recent videos, or I'm using Meta's own breathable facial interface if keeping cool is more important, which you can check out here -> www.meta.com/affiliates/GrL2fESAz (#QuestAffiliate). I might do a 'best facial interfaces' video for the 3 and 3S if people would find that useful?
@@MyTechGearGaming Yeah, I got the Kiwi Halo strap, and it's terrible. It slides off all the time, doesn't feel secure, and I can't adjust it to the perfect position.
Might be a silly question, but with the h4, will the battery constantly charge the headset even after its full? Like if i didnt need to use the headset for a couple of days, would the battery be pushing charge to the headset for days at a time?
I dont have one to test, but presumably if the headset battery wasn't full when you put it away, it would continue to charge from the external battery until full. Once full the headset stops pulling power from the charger as it has nowhere to put any more.
So im looking to buy a headstrap for a 3S so my 11 year (Old) kid can play, any recomendations, I’m thinking a Halo supported one could be good? Maybe kiwi h4 boost?
I'm playing with kiwi and original face interface. I have a big nose so VR always sits diagonally, not straight to face... No matter what I've done, can't find good weight to comfort balance... Halo headstaps suck, because it goes to forehead and in this case goggles coming on a level little bit lower than my eyes. AMVR interface feels great and chiller than original, but again won't sit properly because of my nose...
@MyTechGearGaming quest 3. To be even more precise I have Edwart Notron shape of head with Liam Neeson's nose. Not anywhere near handsome as they're tho...
You could try using a halo head strap and no facial interface at all so that the quest 3 just hangs from the head strap. Or you could check out the Oblik design facial interface which is custom made for your face. I reviewed it previously on this channel.
@MyTechGearGaming tried that, having quite wide peripheral vision feels weird to "see between worlds", little bit immersion breaking. However custom made interface sounds awesome I look in to it!
i own the globular cluster F3 facial interface, do you know if the kiwi design k4 boost will fit with this interface. i really like the F3 and wouldn't want to buy a halo strap that doesnt work with it
Im quite late, but i was wondering is a halo or elite style better if i switch between game types often, from just hanging out in vr chat to boxing or fps games?
Allegedly halo is for chillin and elite better for movement. It all depends on the user and ppl prefer halo for chillin.and vice versa. I think the elite sits on your face more as oppsped to the hanging of the halo. Might just have to get both if you really want to know which is better then return the other
Was debating the Bobo M3 Max with an extra battery vs the H4. Trying to decide before the cyber monday deals end. Also which feels good when laying down? Not the deciding factor but would be nice to know.
You’ll get more battery power with the bobo but it also costs more. Most head straps aren’t particularly comfortable when lying down but both of these are ok.

Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊
