It's so refreshing to see Americans visit proper English villages and experience the local culture rather than just staying in central London and visiting the usual tourist traps.
@@starbiko no, they mean traps. Super 'populair' places that only tourists go to, and are waaaaay to expensive. But those places become so populair that tourists think its a must see, and that they are staples in the lives of the people that accually live there. You're lured in by the stories, and then have your money wasted. So; a trap

Agreed I think it’s like that with places that have big or popular cities. Im from NYC and most people who visit want to stay in the city but New York State is beautiful and gigantic. Even most of the native New Yorkers stay cooped up in the 5 boroughs and I can never wrap my head around it- I guess because I grew up traveling so it’s in my blood to explore. My husband has family in the UK so it’s definitely on our list of our future international trips.

Midsummer murders is often filmed in my village (I live about an hour from the cotswolds, closer to London) they were filming some scenes in a pub called the red lion by my house. They always pick good locations.
Hello from Germany, i lived here and worked at the Manor house as F&B Manager in the late 80s. My Flat was just near the White Heart Pub. It is a beautiful Place and I definitely want to visit it again once in my lifetime. Highly recommended to visit!
I grew up in the cotswolds! Honestly it ruined countrysides for me, because nowhere I've visited in Europe can come close to how beautiful and tranquil it is 😂

i read a novel called "The Secret of Moon Castle" by Enid Blyton a long time ago when i was younger. and this village is exactly how i imagined the village from the novel i read looked like.
if you come back to wiltshire/somerset, i would recommend going to Lacock, it’s so pretty and looks quite similar to castle combe!!it’s also where they filmed quite a bit of harry potter :)
Another BEAUTIFUL place in England (which I went to in October) is York! The shambles market looks like the market from the start of Harry Potter ✨ there’s even a Harry Potter themed shop called “ the shop that must not be named “ so if anyone ever is near York you should go!

I live in Wiltshire and my favourite place to visit is Burley, in the New Forest, you should *definitely* check it out! Is a tiny place nestled in the woodland, I dream of moving to a little cottage there one day.
