I wanted to express my gratitude for your thorough, step-by-step video. It helped me greatly with the replacement of the worn-out rollers. I do hope that Cricut will consider redesigning their product for improved serviceability.
it doesnt matter u use them or not 2 years and they are gone. i hadnt used my cricket for a while and when i wanted to use it noticed a problem that roler was turning properly, and after a quick look found the problem. but isnt fare aying that huge money and rollers actually don't do good job
Yes but i made now actual tuber. They shaped them selfes so nice now. Looks like always been there. And it is already of 20 years old material but will do quiet longer :D
I am the maker of the above video. Commenting from my new 3d printing channel. I just wanted to say that my crikut is still working great, and so far, I see no wear on my replacement wheels. Good luck all.
Thank you sooooo much! Instead of having to spend hundreds on a new machine, I was able to fix it for less than $10 and an hour time! This tutorial was easy to follow and very informative! Definitely will recommend it in the FB groups for anyone else looking to fix theirs!
Thank you I would have never been able to fix my Cricut maker without your video. I broke both C clamps in the process but luckily it’s cutting perfectly even without them. Without this video I would have thrown my machine away and waisted money on a new one. Now I don’t have to. Thanks again! We should all support him by subscribing to him.
Hi, any updates on your machine? I too broke both c clamps. I'm going to assemble everything and give it a try. Would love to hear how your machine is holding up
THIS!!! i viewed many tutorials on this...I stopped looking when I found this one! I am 64, bad arthritis in my hands and.......my machine is no longer an expensive paperweight! The hardest part was those 7 death screws which turns into 14 counting putting it back together and then 28 need to take it apart again...so 7 screws to take out, 7 screws to put back together...then repeat lol...the hardest besides the screws was getting the cover back on and off and back on again...Thanks so much!!! the best ever, if i had the funds I would send you hundreds just to tell cricut how horrible their lack of support is for these megabucks machines....so if a 64 yr old woman with arthritis can do it.....desperation and perspiration
Haha, thank you. I to suffer with hand issues, paramytonia congenita, I am stubborn though and carry on best I can. 55 and still trucking, lol. Glad you got it done. Well done. Just click that subscribe button is thanks enough. Thanks.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL. My husband and I were able to get this done in about an hour. We would have NEVER figured out the three extra screws under the lid - I would have absolutely broken it by trying to rip/pry the case off. I would have ended up throwing the machine away and buying a new one. THANK YOU for saving me all that frustration (and money)!!! ❤
After plenty of rewatching, it took me 45 minutes from start to test cut to get this done. I would like to take this time to thank you kind sir for teaching me how to do this.
THANK YOU!!!! I've replaced many rollers over the years on printers and Fujitsu scanners, which are easily replaced without tearing the entire machine apart. This by far could have been a better design to replace the rollers. I'd expect the rollers to stretch out overuse, but to have to the tear the entire machine apart is crazy. Your detailed and thorough explanation made this so much simpler for me. I really appreciate it!
Thanks. I am so mad I have to go through all this for such an expensive machine. I have the original Maker and everyone I have talked to who has this machine has issues with the rollers. I will try it. Your tutorial is the best, most detailed video I have seen on TH-cam so far. I think I can do it now.
Its not to bad. I hope these new rollers last longer. So far ours is working as it should. I do know some break the top plastic piece when removing it. Just pry in middle and go slow working it as you go.
@Outdoors4adventure I DID IT!!! It is working as it should now. I'm so pleased. Unfortunately, despite being careful, I still have a small crack in the top plate. They unnecessarily glue it down which causes it to break if you don't put the screwdriver in just the right place when prying the left end apart.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting this video! I changed my rubber rollers today because I had the confidence to try after watching your video several times. My machine had limited use, but the rollers went bad and I wasn't willing to purchase a new machine. So, I ordered the rollers you recommended, purchased a small screwdriver and stayed positive as I encountered and solved unforeseen issues like the cover being glued and having to use my dremel to slightly widen the opening to remove the roller bar. My machine is working properly again and I'm beaming with pride thanks to you!
Thanks so much for the video, I purchased the rollers and my husband did the work for me. There were a couple of things that were different on my Cricut Maker; the small cover on top was actually glued to the casing and it took him a minute to pry it off without breaking it. He also had to make the hole bigger to take out the roller on the side as it was much smaller than the opening on your unit. When he put it back together, he said "it will be a miracle if it works" and I had resigned myself to buying a new one, but it worked!! 😀 Thanks again for the great tutorial! ❤
I had this happen with my first maker. It was 2 months out of warranty, and they replaced my machine with a refurbished one. I can see the rollers on the new/refurbished machine. This is a major help. Thank you!
I did it 💪🏻!
Thank you from NEW Zealand!!! A tip for those watching, put a bit of tape of the silicone grease on the left hand side of the machine. I kept touching it.
came here to say that if anyone is doubtful this will actually work, IT DOES. It took a lot of elbow grease and a handful of different tools (GET A FLEXIBLE EXTENDED SCREW DRIVER ATTACHMENT) but I was able to do this myself and I'm sooo happy it saved me hundreds on a new one. Shame on Cricut for not providing a solution for this KNOWN issue. Thanks for this tutorial!
Thanks so much for the amazing video! My machine failed at a two day retreat. So I was motivated to give your video repair a try and am so glad I did. The parts you suggested are a lot more durable than the manufacturers parts. My Maker rollers are replaced, my machine calibrated perfectly and is functioning like a new machine. Many thanks! You saved me ~$300!
Thank you so much for the step by step video, this is an excellent video. I was able to replace the rollers on my Cricut maker without my husband’s assistance!
Thank you! Your video showed all the twists and turns for a perfect roller replacement! One observation, someone recommended putting the bar in the freezer and that was great advice! My new rollers slipped right on! Thanks again!
Thanks for instructing on this! My Maker started moving the rollers out of place about 3-4 months ago and I've been perplexed as to where I would take it for repair. Then today I thought, there's GOT TO BE a You Tube video on how to! And I found YOU! I ordered the same rollers from Amazon today and I'll have them in a couple of days. Looking forward to giving this repair a go at it! Thanks again!
Your welcome. Its not to bad. There is a tip in comments about putting the steel bar in the freezer for a few hours , heat the rollers in hot water, then slide them on. The cold makes the rod smaller and heat makes rollers larger by theory. Best wishes.
Just had to thank you so much for this detailed video, I don’t know what I would have done without it. After a bit of trial and error I finally managed to complete the task, and would be able to do it again. Excellent video would highly recommend if any one gets stuck thinking their machine is finished. It is a little fiddly in places but well worth a go and a bit of patience. Huge thank you.😀
i just wanted to say THANK YOU for having this, and while I know it's impossible to get the shot, I wish there was video of the left hand side C-clip removal *AND* reassembly - putting it back on was SO much harder than removing it. this took me about two hours in total (very careful tbh) but my machine is working perfectly with no issues! I got a kit off of amazon that had great instructions but that left C-clip is a doozy. Be prepared to use your patience!!
Fantastic walk through! I was gifted a Maker with gummy rollers. I was able to disassemble, fix rollers, and reassemble within a couple hours! Machine works like a dream. Thank you for the step by step with this
Great video. For the new rollers, I put the shaft in the freezer to shrink it while I let rollers heat in the water. I hardly had any trouble getting them on. Thanks for the help.
Great video. I was able to follow along and replace my rollers. I found that after warming up my replacements in the hot water, the closed end of a 10mm wrench was perfect to slide over the end of the rod and push them down. Thanks for the step by step instructions
Great video, perfectly shows the steps to disassemble the Cricut and replace the rubber wheels. Thank you so much for sharing, you have made my wife very happy!
Thank you so much, i have been having trouble with my Maker for the past 2 years because of the wheels and also their design space. I decided im going to leave cricut and go to silhouette but i wanted to see if it was possible to replace the rubber wheels so i could give my maker to a friend. I was so scared to fix it before, but your video was so informative!! Great step by step instructions and warnings! I will say though for my Maker the hole to remove the pole on the right side was to small so i ended up having to use my power drill to shave some of the opening down just so the pole could exit. It was a journey but it wasn't to bad with your help, so thank you so so much!!!!
It's a shame Cricut does not help with replacing the wheels. I had no idea this could happen until it did. Unless you warranty is still in effect, they offer a $50 coupon to apply to another machine on their site. REALLY? Many of us have invested hundreds of 💸 and that's your fix? It's not even a choice on the questions for troubleshooting, you have to speak with CS. And why are the users coming up with fixes? This is wrong!
Yupp, I haven’t used my machine for a while cause I had a baby and come to find out my rubber wheels are messed up cricut only offered a coupon code like I have $$ lying around to buy a new one lmao
Thank you so much! I have been working with worn rollers for sooooo long. I have waisted enough material to buy a new machine but thanks to you I have replaced my rollers and am ready to go! Great tutorial!
Thank You! This saved me and my family $$!! I was able to follow all your instructions and get this done in about 1.5 hours…some screws were hard to get to but glad you mentioned the three hidden ones…that could have been bad😂
MANY thanks for this Video and for the link where to order new rollers for replacement. It was a little bit tricky to do all necessary steps for the exchangement. But your tutorial worked very well! I'm very happy that my Cricut Maker machine works again fine after this roller replacement. Again many thanks and kind regards from a Cricut Maker Machine user living in Austria!🏵🌷🌼
Thank you for this tutorial! I was able to follow to the T and fix my machine and my sisters. I would definitely recommend this video to everyone I know. Bless you for recording. It will help many.
You have one of the best tutorials about this I believe. Me and my husband just finished replacing the rollers and it was very challenging for us.I thought we might end up on divorce court. LOL I brought the ratcheting screwdrivers with the flexible extension. My husband couldn't get in a good position to get enough torque on a few to remove them with just the bit tool. But was finally able to Then putting everything back our biggest issue was getting one of the C clips back on. At one point when trying to get the first screws out of the top rail he got so frustrated he said I'll just buy you a new one for your anniversary in January but I could get it early. No way was I going to get another one for $429.00 when the part to be replaced costs a few dollars and others had done it. So with some choice words we persevered and got her done. I just cannot believe that Cricut would do this. Their machines are not cheap!! If I ever need to replace it I think I'll look at other options.
I am glad you got it done and mark it as a success. I just made a decal for a shirt and the machine is still working great. They could easily designed these machines with roller replacement in mind , but then the would loose money.
Thank you, you saved me buying a new machine. I watched and did this step by step, it was so helpful and well explained. Thank you for sharing this and helping others :)
This was so helpful - thank you! Was considering buying a whole new machine - saved me a couple hundred bucks! Was also fun to get inside my Cricut and see how it works
Thanks for sharing this. I just completed the swap by following your guide. I had a bit of trouble with popping the top panel off (too much glue at the ends!!!) But I was able to reach in to undo the the torx screws though the gap I'd created by trying to pop off the panel. In the end, I got it done. Oh, and a spring near the motor (not the one that tensions the roller) was pisitioned differently than on yiur machine. Im not sure if that was a manufacturing defect or a 'tuning' option exercised during assembly, but it was a minor deviation. I'm now gonna take a hot knife to that panel to ease that final step of reassembly.... (Seperating the panel from the lid) 😊
Those old rollers are in great shape compared to one of mine. 😅 Cricut sends out new machines if this happens within a year, mine messed up after that. I've been ruining mats just chugging along the last 1+ years, assuming there was no fix. So happy I searched again. Thank you for your knowledge and very thorough video, kind sir.❤
Thank you so much!! I was able to fix it. It cuts like a brand new machine. I wasnt able to get those 7 screws back in just yet, but it works and I am confident that I can do it again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This was my try before throwing away my 2 year old Maker. I followed easily and just cut out a circle perfectly! I did lose one of the e clips somewhere in my floor. So between you and a nice man at Home Depot I am a pro!! Thanks for a great tutorial!!❤
If you followed all the steps correctly and made no mistakes but ended up with your mat not being able to fit through the rod just remember me. YOU HAVE TO SEPARATE THE 4 WHITE ROLLERS EVENLY, IF THEY NEAR THE BLACK ROLLERS YOU INSTALLED IT WILL CAUSE TOO MUCH TENSION ON THE ROD 🤞🏽
Thanks very much for posting this, just replaced the rubber rollers on my Maker - the rollers I bought from a UK seller on eBay went on like a dream which was a pleasant surprise as was expecting that part to be a nightmare :) it’s definitely worth buying a small ratchet screwdriver to get those 7 pesky screws out to release the cover. Back up and running again.
Thank You!! I recently opened a replacement Cricut maker and it unfortunately arrived damaged at the rollers and Cricut would not replace it. I was getting ready to toss it and be forced to buy another but now I just ordered the rollers and have a great clear video to follow to use the new machine. As another person stated Cricut needs to do better by simple redesigning and give the customer an option for servicing or to replace them. My other Maker has been functioning for over 2 years and no signs of wear on the rollers its odd, luck of the draw I guess.
Thanks for the video. My sister has the same problem and I can't physically go to repair her's. She said she will try it following your video. Thanks again.
Thank you SO much!! It worked out well, with limited cursing haha. When I unplugged the lid (@ 6:30), I don't know if I knocked something around, but the power lights on the top of my cricut aren't working now. The power is working, but not the lights. Anyone have advice? TIA
Thank you for your video. My husband successfully replaced the rollers! Now if you have figured out how to fix the door problem please make another how to video!
@@Outdoors4adventure Another known problem beside the rollers is the doors failing. On some the lid doesn't stay open, while opening the top the front door no longer opens automatically, a popping sound while trying to open, etc. There are several videos on YT demonstrating these different issues. On my Maker it made a popping sound when I opened the lid and now it no longer opens automatically. Can't figure out what part needs to be replaced if at all.
Just followed along with your video and replaced the rubber wheels. Not as bad as i thought it was going to be. Hopefully these new rubber wheels will last for a long time now.

Thank you so so much for this, I got the rollers replaced and now I'm putting it back together. However, the connector you show at 6:22 doesn't want to go back in. Is there a trick/knack to getting it back in properly? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks again!
@Outdoors4adventure thank you for replying so quickly! God knows what's going on with mine then lol. Will try my father in law tomorrow. Thank you again for the great video!
Hello! I replaced the rollers successfully but having so much trouble getting the c clamps back on. They seem to be shaped differently maybe then when I pulled them off. Should I just reshape them? Any suggestions?! Almost done with this and the other screws were easy for us! Any help is appreciated.
thank you so much for this tutorial! My father is going to help me with this. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the current rollers back into position until my replacements get here?
Thanks for the video...looks like I have a weekend project...the left roller on my wife's Cricut keeps slipping...I had a temporary fix for it but the roller has deteriorated more and is very soft and pliable...time to change it. Gonna have to search the garage to see if I have a small metal tube...lol
So - not only is the Cricut software awkward & clunky to use, but what should be routine maintenance on the machine is also awkward & clunky. Thankyou so much for making this video.
@Outdoors4adventure - I spoke too soon. Couldn't get this to work. Mine seems to have a few design modifications to make the job impossible. The top panel that you popped off - mine had the corners glued down. The gear wheel that comes off easily on yours, seems to have some plastic housing butted up close to prevent removal. I had to cut this housing away with a chisel. There's also another gear wheel right in front of the C clip. Then finally, the holes on the metal plate at either end of the roller bar are too small to get the bar through, even the shaved off right hand end. The bar is locked in place, and the metal plates are impossible to loosen. It looks like a deliberate design tweak to make the rubbers non-replaceable 🤬
So, - THANK YOU for the the tutorial. Best thing ever bc I am NOT purchasing another Maker unless it's absolutely necessary or I find a cheap one 😅. With that being said, - did you reoil yours? Mine sounds louder than before, in the cutting area (not sure if that makes sense). Unsure if it needs lubrication. . . assistance please 😊
@@Outdoors4adventure - Exactly. I didn't touch it either. Don't get me wrong. It's working great, just louder than before 😅. I'll recheck it to see what's causing it. And, no need to be sorry. Your tutorial was a HUGE help - thanks again ☺️
Thank you so much for this video. I was able to easily follow along. AND I was able to put it back together be pausing your video and seeing where things went. ❤❤❤
I did it, and offer a help, clean bar and apply a little liquid soap, slip on new warm rubber rollers 3/4 way, then rinse off soap and then push all the way and again rinse soap, it took me a minute to get roller on very easy.
I am a 60 year old woman. I was able to follow the steps and change out the wheels myself. But I will say it takes a lots of patients due to the small screws and pieces and you can’t get into where you need to do it. Took me about 2 1/2 hours.
Do not touch the clear goop with the consistency of hot glue, that is on the left side of the machine! It went from my hands, to the tools, to my clothes, to the sink. It doesn't come off with water, had to use goo gone to get it off of everything. Great tutorial, easy to follow even with small differences in the machines.
Oh and i managed to make rolers myself whish makes my life so much easier as amazon almost no one send it to my location and ebay postage more than actual rolers cost. Plus this shuld be more dureble but i might be wrong. Also peaple shuld be carfull pluging in that electrical conector. Mine one of pins wNted to bend but managed to sort out after a little fidle and back working again
Your video is amazing, I managed to do everything as showed and turn it on for testing. It turns on, connect to computer but when I need to load the mat, the arrows button keeps blinking but do not load it. When I turn on the machine the rod turns as it always does, but the arrow button does not work no matter how many times I push it. I am so disappointed to myself.
Brilliant! Thanks so much for posting this. I'm still cranky that it has been made so difficult but your video really helped. Now, I do have a request..... Can you make one backwards so I don't have to pause and go 10 seconds back when trying to put it back together? :D
Are the screws in the hinged lid on top regular screws? Mine seems to be that special "torx" head or something similar that a regular screwdriver won't work with?
One trick I tried was to not only warm up the new rollers in hot water, but I threw the rod in the freezer for about 45 minutes to make it contract. I was just able to push the new rollers on by hand that way as the roller rod warmed up.
Thanks!
Thank You!
I wanted to express my gratitude for your thorough, step-by-step video. It helped me greatly with the replacement of the worn-out rollers. I do hope that Cricut will consider redesigning their product for improved serviceability.

How do you get the small white wheel of on the second side. We can't get the servos small roller of with it on
@sherrir.connor1448 I did not have to remove it.
Everything went great but my cricut doesnt start i already tried placing the cord in its place but it doesnt work
@abrahamgarcia1008 I wonder if plug on motor side got unplugged or power button plug is loose. Would require opening it back up.

Great video, perfectly shows the steps to disassemble the Cricut and replace the rubber wheels. Thank you so much for sharing, you have made my wife very happy!
Very nice, thanks.
Your welcome. Glad you got it done.
Its crazy.
Yupp, I haven’t used my machine for a while cause I had a baby and come to find out my rubber wheels are messed up cricut only offered a coupon code like I have $$ lying around to buy a new one lmao
It's now only $25!!! CEO Ash makes $49.63 MILLION a year!!!!
They offered me the same I found a guy that will fix it for 130
But I'm going try this myself
It is crap. I barely used my machine before one got jacked. Just ticked me off enough to not even care by that point
This was an EXCELLENT tutorial from start to finish. I could have never done it without your guidance. Thank you!!!
Awesome, thank you.
Thank you couldn’t have done it without you.
Welcome
I can't thank you enough for sharing the video clip. It was incredibly helpful in fixing the rubber rollers. You're a lifesaver!
Your welcome
Thank you so much! I have been working with worn rollers for sooooo long. I have waisted enough material to buy a new machine but thanks to you I have replaced my rollers and am ready to go! Great tutorial!
Congratulations, great job.
Thank you so much! This worked for me and my machine is back and running. Christmas is saved! lol 😂
Awesome
Thank You! This saved me and my family $$!! I was able to follow all your instructions and get this done in about 1.5 hours…some screws were hard to get to but glad you mentioned the three hidden ones…that could have been bad😂
Thanks
MANY thanks for this Video and for the link where to order new rollers for replacement. It was a little bit tricky to do all necessary steps for the exchangement. But your tutorial worked very well! I'm very happy that my Cricut Maker machine works again fine after this roller replacement.
Again many thanks and kind regards from a Cricut Maker Machine user living in Austria!🏵🌷🌼
Congrads on a working machine again.
OMG! I just followed your instructions to the T and fixed my machine! Ha! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! 😃
Your very welcome. Still using ours with no issues.
Thank you so much for your video. My husband and I were able to replace the wheels. It was challenging but your instructions were perfect.
Thanks. I hope the new wheels we used last longer.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this. It helped me get mine replaced.
Glad it helped. Congratulations 👏
Thank you for this tutorial! I was able to follow to the T and fix my machine and my sisters. I would definitely recommend this video to everyone I know. Bless you for recording. It will help many.
Thank you and great job.
Fixed my cricut! Thank you so much! Followed all your instructions and 2 hours later it's good as new!
Awesome. Great job.
Just wanted to say thank you for this step by step video. Well done. I installed them just as you did.
Thank you.
You have one of the best tutorials about this I believe. Me and my husband just finished replacing the rollers and it was
very challenging for us.I thought we might end up on divorce court.
@apavacic how did you get those c clips? I am struggling with those and might just toss my machine in the garbage. 😂
Excellent tutorial! Thank you for the step-by-step instructions and great video. My machine is back with a $5 part and your video.
Awesome.
Thank you, you saved me buying a new machine. I watched and did this step by step, it was so helpful and well explained. Thank you for sharing this and helping others :)
Awesome, thanks.
This was so helpful - thank you! Was considering buying a whole new machine - saved me a couple hundred bucks! Was also fun to get inside my Cricut and see how it works
Awesome
Thank you! Your instructions were easy to follow. I also used a small hand mirror so that I could see the screws to take them.
Thanks, good idea. They are hidden.
I hope it all turns out satisfactory.
Glad to help.
Thank you so much!! I was able to fix it. It cuts like a brand new machine. I wasnt able to get those 7 screws back in just yet, but it works and I am confident that I can do it again!
Awesome
AWESOME! Love your sense of detail and humor, good job. I can easily follow these instructions to change out my rollers! Thanks
Thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This was my try before throwing away my 2 year old Maker. I followed easily and just cut out a circle perfectly! I did lose one of the e clips somewhere in my floor. So between you and a nice man at Home Depot I am a pro!! Thanks for a great tutorial!!❤
Your welcome, glad it worked out.
Thanks for sharing the information.
Thank you. I just had a new cricut maker in my Amazon cart. I'll try replacing my rollers first. 😊
It's not to bad a job. Just keep up with those small parts. Best of luck to you. You can do it.
Awesome, great job.
Thanks for the video. My machine is now fully repaired and back in business
Awesome, great job.
Love ur calm voice gave me the confidence to do this
Thanks. Ours is still working great.
Best wishes.
Thank you so much!!! I fixed my rollers with your video and instructions.
Awesome
Thanks for the video. My sister has the same problem and I can't physically go to repair her's. She said she will try it following your video. Thanks again.
Thank you. Best wishes.
Thanks, that was a really thorough and well paced explanation. I have to do the same job on my maker and I’ve got the confidence to give it a try now.
Its not that bad, take pictures as you go to help put it all together again. You can do it.
thanks for this great video! How do I got the cclips back on?
I used my fingers to line up slot then a small flat screwdriver to push on.
Nice video! What size is the phillips socket bit that you used to remove the 7 screws that are inside the unit?
If I recall correctly it was a number #1
Thank you SO much!! It worked out well, with limited cursing haha. When I unplugged the lid (@ 6:30), I don't know if I knocked something around, but the power lights on the top of my cricut aren't working now. The power is working, but not the lights. Anyone have advice? TIA
Cool. Does sound like something is loose.
Thank you for your video. My husband successfully replaced the rollers! Now if you have figured out how to fix the door problem please make another how to video!
Thats awesome. What is the door problem?
@@Outdoors4adventure Another known problem beside the rollers is the doors failing. On some the lid doesn't stay open, while opening the top the front door no longer opens automatically, a popping sound while trying to open, etc. There are several videos on YT demonstrating these different issues. On my Maker it made a popping sound when I opened the lid and now it no longer opens automatically. Can't figure out what part needs to be replaced if at all.
Just followed along with your video and replaced the rubber wheels. Not as bad as i thought it was going to be. Hopefully these new rubber wheels will last for a long time now.
We are hoping the rollers last longer also. So far our machine is doing fine. Good luck.

Awesome, great job.
Thank you for this super helpful video! Have a blessed day!!!
Thanks
Thank you so so much for this, I got the rollers replaced and now I'm putting it back together. However, the connector you show at 6:22 doesn't want to go back in. Is there a trick/knack to getting it back in properly? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks again!
I am sure it goes on 1 way only. Mine snapped back easy. I wish, I could help more.
They should slide back on easily. Line up with slot a push on. Hardware store should sell c clips.
thank you so much for this tutorial! My father is going to help me with this. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the current rollers back into position until my replacements get here?
Mine were stretched and soft. So, no way to use my machine until I replaced them.
Thanks for the video...looks like I have a weekend project...the left roller on my wife's Cricut keeps slipping...I had a temporary fix for it but the roller has deteriorated more and is very soft and pliable...time to change it. Gonna have to search the garage to see if I have a small metal tube...lol
A few have stated if you heat the roller and put the shaft in the freezer for a few hours, the roller will slide on easily.
So - not only is the Cricut software awkward & clunky to use, but what should be routine maintenance on the machine is also awkward & clunky.
Thankyou so much for making this video.
Your welcome. This roller situation, Definitely warrants a redesign.
@Outdoors4adventure - I spoke too soon.
I think they make it difficult just to get you to buy a new one
Thank you so much for the step by step, it was so helpful.
Welcome
So, - THANK YOU for the the tutorial. Best thing ever bc I am NOT purchasing another Maker unless it's absolutely necessary or I find a cheap one 😅.
With that being said, - did you reoil yours? Mine sounds louder than before, in the cutting area (not sure if that makes sense). Unsure if it needs lubrication. . .
assistance please 😊
If its in the cutting area, not sure because that area isnt touched.? Hard to say , really. Sorry
@@Outdoors4adventure - Exactly. I didn't touch it either. Don't get me wrong. It's working great, just louder than before 😅.
I'll recheck it to see what's causing it. And, no need to be sorry. Your tutorial was a HUGE help - thanks again ☺️
Precise instructions!!! Thank you for making this video!
Welcome
you are a LIFESAVER!!! thank you so much for this video !!! 🎉🙌
Your welcome.
I appreciate you! I put in that last screw feeling like Mrs. Fix it!
Lol. It is a nice feeling of accomplishment. Especially after cutting with it again.
Awesome, thanks for sharing 👍
It isn't as bad as it looks. Label all parts you remove. You can do it!
Your the best thank you so so much!! Your instructions helped me fix my machine!!
Awesome
This was exactly the tutorial I needed. Thanks!
Thank you, very much.
I am a 60 year old woman. I was able to follow the steps and change out the wheels myself. But I will say it takes a lots of patients due to the small screws and pieces and you can’t get into where you need to do it. Took me about 2 1/2 hours.
Yes, it does take patience. Glad you got them changed and hope you will not have to again.
I noticed something sticky, lol. Thanks
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
thanks for this, it saved me SO much time!!!!
Your welcome
Thank you! This helped a ton.
Welcome
Your video is amazing, I managed to do everything as showed and turn it on for testing. It turns on, connect to computer but when I need to load the mat, the arrows button keeps blinking but do not load it. When I turn on the machine the rod turns as it always does, but the arrow button does not work no matter how many times I push it. I am so disappointed to myself.
Maybe a wire got pulled loose.
Can you tell me what size c clips are used inside, I seem to have lost them!
I found this cant promise anything... but read 3/16 from home depot worked for one person.
THANK YOU!@@Outdoors4adventure
Thank you so much for your video! Saved myself $$$.
Awesome
Brilliant! Thanks so much for posting this. I'm still cranky that it has been made so difficult but your video really helped. Now, I do have a request..... Can you make one backwards so I don't have to pause and go 10 seconds back when trying to put it back together? :D
I hope I never have to take it apart again. Lol
Thanks, followed the video step by step. Instead of the jack pole, used the box end of a wrench.
Good idea
Thank you! I was worried about that too since I don't have a jack pole. lol
Are the screws in the hinged lid on top regular screws? Mine seems to be that special "torx" head or something similar that a regular screwdriver won't work with?
Mine was philips head
@@Outdoors4adventure maybe there's different models then because mine is a torx I believe 🤦😂
Mine is torqued also. Someone said try a T-9. I’m heading to get that now
One trick I tried was to not only warm up the new rollers in hot water, but I threw the rod in the freezer for about 45 minutes to make it contract. I was just able to push the new rollers on by hand that way as the roller rod warmed up.
Saw this in a previous comment also. Thanks
Can I ask how long you warmed the rollers for? I have tried today and they are not budging. Thanks
@@DawnskiBee 20 minutes?
I have an Explore Air 2. Does this tutorial apply to that machine as well?
I can not provide a answer, I dont know.
