What type of paper do you use for the calibration sheet? I used plain white copy paper like it says to online and when I tried to take it off the light grip mat, it ripped the paper and I spent nearly an hour trying to remove the paper from the mat. Is there a specific brand of copy paper that I need to use or am I actually supposed to use copy paper at all?
Hi Haley! I have been there. I totally know what you’re talking about. Normal copy paper is what you should use. I think they recommend it just because it’s the cheapest. But after the first time I started using a less sticky mat. If you don’t have one, maybe use a piece of white card stock. I don’t know if you have any in your craft supplies, but I love it for print and cut projects and the thicker paper pops off of the mat much easier. Sorry you had that struggle!
Thanks so much for this video! Helped so much. Im still struggling with my printer not printing the bottom half registration lines also print preview not matching whats on paper .when i attatch to mat its not matching where it shoukd be for example on print preview. Bottom paper is at 29 On mat it only reaches to 28. Thanks so much
I'm not sure Irma! If you continue to have issues I would contact Cricut Support. I've found them to be super helpful in the past. I hope you can get back to crafting quickly!
@KimByers Something weird happened, honestly! Idky, but it was just that saved project that cut all wrong. Even after I changed it, saved it, & tried cutting it out again. All of my other projects cut fine. So I just deleted it and made a different one. Lol I have no idea what was going on.
Very clear and precise video! Thank you so much. Calibration Issue: I have followed all your steps, however when I get to the "Start" drop down, my only option is "Set Up Cutting Machine". I do not get the "Print Then Cut" option. I've recently did a calibration and it worded just fine. But, then I started getting the "Can not read registration lines" message when doing print then cut. So, I decided to try calibration again. Now I can't follow through on calibrating. Can't figure out why the machine wants to walk me through setting up my machine again. I've had this machine since 2015. It's Sunday, so I can't call Cricut support and I'm right in the middle of working on a project. Any suggestions.
Oh Sharon! Sorry for not getting back sooner. Although I don't know as I would have been much help. I'm hoping Cricut support was able to help and you're back to crafting!
I just got a new machine but my problem has been weird. When I go to calibrate it, the machine is already cutting perfectly before I even change anything. But when I go to cut out my stickers they’re always super off.
It's cutting print then cut items perfectly, like the calibration tests? Or is it cutting vinyl, iron on, etc. perfectly? If the calibration is cutting on the lines perfectly, yet your stickers are not, it could be that you're not setting your stickers up with a bleed area around them. It might be worth a call to Cricut Help Desk. I've found them helpful in the past. Thanks so much for crafting with me!
Thanks so much for crafting with me Stephanie! I'm so glad the tutorial helped. And I totally get the paper thing! I've messed up a few pieces over the years myself! 🤣 💕
Thank you for such an amazing video! I am having an issue with mine I am new to using the print then cut portion of the machine definitely a newbie here! So I calibrated today for the first time ever and then I put my mat in the machine with my vinyl I wanted cut it went through the process and read the lines and started to cut, it went down to the bottom of the page and just started to make tiny little holes and then the app shut down and the mat was stuck in place without any lights flashing on my machine. I’m at a loss of what I am doing wrong.
Oh my! Actually I don't think you did anything wrong. It sounds like your machine was glitching. You've likely already done this, but I would shut everything down, machine and design space. And then bring it all back up and start over. If you continue to have issues I would call Cricut support. I've only had great interactions with them. They're super helpful. Best of luck! And thank you for crafting with me! 💕
@@KimByers thank you for getting back to me! By fluke I figured it out after I was on the phone with Cricut customer support! It turns out I wasn’t removing the background correctly so it caused a glitch! But I got it now and I feel a lot more confident using design space!
THANK YOU! Genius! I've probably done 15 dang calibrations today and they kept getting worse... I tried ADDING more light, deleting the software, firmware, but not turning off the lights... THAT did the trick. So wild!
So what happens if you get the black lines all the way around but you do a print then cut and still have more white space on one side? I have had this happen. I have noticed sometimes the black line that outlines the large square might not be perfectly in the middle.
My print then cut works fine. When I attach a pen to a cut it does not line up correctly. Sometimes the cut, cuts off part of the pen writing. Can you help with this?
I would think this is a calibration issue. You might want to calibrate and if your next test still has problems I would contact Cricut support. I've had a really good experience with them. I hope it works out and you can get back to crafting! 🩷
What should I do if everything I try to print and cut it just makes little dots around the outline of the design but doesn’t actually cut out the design?
That is actually not one that I've heard. I would call the Cricut Help Desk. I've found them to be very nice and responsive. Maybe they can help you get it corrected so you can get back to crafting! Sorry you're having trouble!
Hey Heather! I think the iPad has some limitations for the print then cut. I'm not completely sure but there may be a video on YT to help. Lots of people have made iPad specific videos. I hope you figured it out and got back to creating! 🩷
No matter what I have tried I can’t seem to make print and cut work. I can get the sensor to read the lines but I can’t get it to cut properly. I have wasted so much time and materials. I feel like buying this machine was the worst decision I’ve ever made.
I'm so sorry Erika! Before you give up I would calibrate and if that doesn't work I would contact Cricut support. I've had really good experiences with the Cricut team and they may be able to walk you through a quick fix. I hope it works out! And thank you for crafting with me! 🩷
Hey Desiree! If these tricks didn't help, I would personally contact Cricut support. In my experience they are super helpful. I hope you figure it out and can get back to crafting!
