I asked my 30 year old son to clean his bathroom, he did, with Harpic loo cleaner on a white cast iron bath. To cut a very long story short, on advice we used the above concoction and after many hours of scrubbing it worked, not a 100% but enough to fool anyone other than the Mother in Law.
It really works! I made a bit more paste and left it. After 5 min, those stains ooze out. It was so much easier to remove it. It worked on kitchen area. But very little on bathroom. Thanks for sharing !
I have white grouting, get a cheap spray bottle (dollar store) add 10 to 1 water & bleach. Spray on grout . Let it sit for 20 min., wipe off tile with paper towel. White again 😊
After spending 5 months trying everything under the sun to clean the grout lines on our bathroom floor I figured out what I was actually dealing with, it is dust and hairspray built up. I soaked rags in really hot water and then let it set on top of the grout lines for about 20 minutes. I used a very stiff bristle Libman scrub brush and a metal finger nail file to gently scratch away stubborn spots. The area around where my wife stands to do her hair was the worst of it.
Grime tells you bacteria locked in. I woudl regrout every few years. Hiding the color, to me doesnt do much but look good but I wanna know that my floor is actually clean and nothing bad sealed in or on top like mold.
I use TSP powder (trisodium phosphate) from the hardware store. Mix with water according to instructions and wear rubber gloves. It still requires scrubbing but cleans my tiles and grout back to white.
I just figured out a easier quicker way to apply the mixture. Use a grout float or plastic 5 way paint tool (has a notch for you to put your hand through) then apply solution to multiple grout lines at once. Make the solution a little runny and it should collect in the grout lines. So much easier then spooning on or using a toothbrush! Have fun lol!
I have a handicapp accessible bathroom which is large. The entire shower: floor, walls and ceiling in the shower is tiled, then there's the entire floor in the whole bathroom and half the wall in the entire bathroom is tiled. Is there a way to clean all that tile and grout cuz this tip would take forever and a day to clean, then I'd have to start over by the time I finished. I'm not saying this isn't a good tip but the size of my bathroom - it will take more than 1 minute to clean. Any ideas?
After a thorough cleaning, use a steam mop to mop your bathroom floor a few times a week after you shower. A steam mop does a good job. It is light and handy.
Just put dawn dish soap on full strength and let it sit overnight. The next day you can just wet it and lightly scrub it with a scouring pad or brush or something - takes no effort at all. The downside is that it takes a lot of rinsing to get all the soap off, but if you're doing this in a shower that isn't a problem. A floor steamer also works great and is much faster for non-shower tile (no rinsing needed) but requires some scrubbing for really ground-in dirt. So, much less time but much more effort. Also, if there is sticky stuff it may not come off from the soap or from steaming, but some rubbing alcohol will handle that.
I find wetting the grout with water and applying a commercial chalk remover is far easier. All you have to do is wait a few minutes before removing the mixture. No scrubbing!
Bonjour! An easier way to do it is to use 1 part of Isopropiyl rubbing alcohol + 1 part of any dish liquid + 2 part of water. Proceed immediately the same way as you do here.
Will the grout lines get thinner and eventually break? Using a toothbrush is highly effective in cleaning the grout, i tried it before. But is this because we are removing the top dirty layer of the grout?
The grout will not become thinner from such a cleaner. Only dirt is washed away. The grout is washed and thinned with a cleaning agent that contains acid.
@home_tips Was using a soft toothbrush previously and after a few times of cleaning, the upper layer of the grout breaks in a number of spot. Thus i am now forced to clean the shower floor using a household bleach cleaner 2.5%. Leave it for about an hour or so. More work but so far the grout lines are still fine.
Don’t do this on natural stone floors like marble, limestone and travertine as it will etch the tiles and will cost a lot to put it right, if you want to DIY try a light alkaline cleaner with hot water and a grout brush, or contact a professional floor cleaning company.
Dang it, I was so excited to try this on the travertine around our fireplace that looks like crap from all the dust and soot etc. all travertine videos they use a giant polisher which doesn’t make sense for a hearth. :(
Its been mentioned already, cheap spray bottle, 1 to 10, bleach to water, spray on leave for 10-15 mins, or catch an episode of The Young and the Restless, then rinse off.
It seems vinegar is the best because it kills mold, is acidic for hard water, and will remove the grime. But we shall see. I’m still testing the results.
I put comet with vinegar and brushed it in the grout still can't get it cleaned I'm going to try this baking soda tip and see if it works add alcohol I forgot we have a dirty Sandy backyard on the coast animal just stop people from coming in and out of the backyard and coming in the house I got down on my knees with a wire brush and that stuff and tried to clean it and wiped it up with a sponge I might have to regroup the surface
@@sk7559 I cleaned the glossy tiles with soda and peroxide - everything is fine. If you're afraid the tile will get scratched, use plain vinegar and dish soap.
If you dont want to deal with granules on your floor- 1 part Iso propol alcohol, 1 part water, 1 part dish soap. Let sit for a few minutes, scrub them wipe off. Magic.
That’s way too much trouble. Buy a premixed, grout cleaner like Zep grout cleaner and whitener, which has an acid in it. Also, a toothbrush is worthless. You need to use a grout brush which has much stiffer bristles. That’s only for ceramic or porcelain tiles. You have to use a neutral pH cleaner for cleaning grout between marble tiles.
Here's another idea go to auto zone buy some mechanics hand wash omg I had to try it on mine I didn't have to scrub I applied it let it sit for a about 5 minutes and wiped it clean.
We talked about tiles. Nothing bad will happen if vinegar gets on the grout. The top layer will come off a little when you wipe it with a damp cloth. The main thing is not to brush

This is hard work on your hands and knees and the grout does not look clean.. No it needs something more agressive, I want to sell a house, so might have to try oven cleaner.
In the comments below, share what methods you know to clean tile grout? And which one do you like the most?
Thank you for the video! What concentration should the hydrogen peroxide be?
@@nilnil7325 3%😊
put it in a zip lock bag to mix then cut the tip and pipe it on the lines.
This works, just did mine. My wife wanted me to re-Grout she thought grout is bad. It looks new again. Thanks
Ive tried everything including this. You know what finally worked and very quick. A $50 mini steamer
I’ve tried everything as well. I’ll try this maybe🌟
The steam never fails. The STEAMER itself might - quality matters.

Can I suggest that you use an old battery operated toothbrush, which is what I always use when cleaning grout. A lot less elbow work.
Great advice👍
It really works! I made a bit more paste and left it. After 5 min, those stains ooze out. It was so much easier to remove it. It worked on kitchen area. But very little on bathroom. Thanks for sharing !
Now let’s see it on WHITE grouting

I have to go outside to spray my hair(multiple times lol) otherwise it’s all over my door,, flooring,, walls,, Everything😩
Needs a bald wife.
So.... the ingredients are baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and piano music???
Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Nothing else😊
Yes, daytime soapy music 🤣
😂😂😂
Lounge music.
I use vinegar baking soda and soap in hot water works well on my tiles
The grout looks the same to me.
Does it smell? will it tackle blck mould? Thank you.
use a steamer then every few years then use a color grout sealer that will recolor your grout, so much easier

Good job 🏆
It will also clean your till floors. Sprinkle mixture all over wet floor and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Use a brush with a long broom handle
Sooo satisfying!
I'll give it a try, Thanks.
I absolutely hate tile due to grimy grout lines. Then I found out about grout sealer! 😊
New power dawn works too. With a small hand brush or old toothbrush.

Looks great!! Will be using this hack
When the edited and shortened video on a 1 minute cleaning solution is 3 minutes.
That’s on your hands and knees and just too much preparation for the end results and all that great buddy
Some suggestions were Dawn blue liquid Detergent. But most I've seen use vinegar and baking soda. I will try this one. Thank you

How to Clean Grout in 1 Minute. "After 5 minutes start brushing"???
😂😂 exactly
What About the porcelain tile. Won’t that remove the shine?
When I cleaned the shiny tiles, everything was fine. But if you are afraid of peroxide, try it on an inconspicuous area😊

It's much easier to leave a strong mix of degreaser in hot water on the floor for 20mins then mopping up. No scrubbing needed.
Hydrogen peroxide which is used for ears and the one u used for cleaning is the same ??.. kindly help 🙏🙏
I buy 3% hydrogen peroxide at the pharmacy and use it for cleaning.

This method will take 24 to 30 hours to clean 420 square feet...
Is there a faster way that you know of? I'm not asking sarcastically btw. Just genuinely curious.
You don't have to do this that often
@@JohnDoe-cd6romaybe steam will help?
And baking soda is a real pain to get it all up
will hydrogen peroxide eat into the grout if used regularly
Yes, it soaks the grout. If the grout is colored, then peroxide can discolor it over time. For white grout, it's not scary.
What about the glossy tiles? Will it alter the glossy tiles?

They make it look quick and easy but it's a lot of on your hands and knees and scrubbing your @SS off. And it takes a while.
I just use HP Clean from Tec7
There is a better and harder brush you can use. I also use baking soda with clorox and it works great. It’s still lots of manual work.
Is vinegar safe fro marble floors ?
No, acids cannot be used to clean natural stone.
It will etch the marble and will require a mechanical fix using diamond pads.

My girlfriend friend has beautiful marble and that's the only thing she uses is vinegar
If you don't re-seal the grout it will be black again in weeks! I know from experience and a toothbrush on a 16×20 floor killed me. 😂
Here's another idea go to auto zone buy some mechanics hand wash omg I had to try it on mine I didn't have to scrub I applied it let it sit for a about 5 minutes and wiped it clean.
Thank you! Great idea😀
Definitely gonna try this one.
Auto Zone up the road from me😊.
It looks the same.
I use Barkeeper's Friend
I really like barkeepers friend I have a cast iron farm sink it is 78 years old and barkeepers makes it look brand new
Can't really tell that much difference the grout is dark to begin with
Mm my whole house is tiled. Might take a while
How do u do this w/ a bad back and useless knees????
Make a cleaning paste and use a long-handled brush to spread over the tile. With the same brush, clean the tiles and grout after a while.
@@home_tips Thank you!!
I made a video on WHITE grout!
So bleach then?
...or spray Zep grout cleaner
*Dishwashing liquid not detergent
TEST! Don't think you can do this on just any kind of "tiled" floor or wall.
You can substitute peroxide with vinegar
music should have changed from happy jazz to aggrevated heavy metal when it didn't work
Thank you, sadly my grout is white.. Drives me crazy!! Might remove it & re do with a coloured grout.
Before you do that go to auto zone and get some mechanic hand cleaner happy let set for 5 minute's no scrubing needed wipe clean.
Just float a thin new mix of white grout over the old. I’ve been doing this all week. Makes counters look new
One shouldn't wait till mold or grim develops. Dry/clean your tile once a week. "At least"
Didn’t work.
If you have water stains on your tiles and grout, use plain vinegar to clean it😊
Do not use vinegar on til.
Why? If the tiles are made of natural stone - yes, you can't use acid. In other cases - it is possible.
@@home_tips Because like other cement type products, grout is made from lime, which is alkaline. Vinegar can damage grout.

Yeah, this works but is incredibly messy. Toilet bowl cleaner is way less time consuming and clean up.
I don't see any difference. Tile itself looks better but not the grout.
This is not practical for large spaces.
Clean the piano keys too...they're blue
Just spray bleach, wait and wipe it off. No mess.
Hope they were wearing googles 😮
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works better and much less work.
I need words not music.
No! Use a steam cleaning machine! Even a cheap $30 machine works
Not a minute, try bar keepers friend instead
You need to talk and explain as you do it
Make a paste, apply it to the grout, leave it for a while and clean it with a brush. Rinse the seams well with water.
Nope! Let's see it on light or white tile, please.
Umm no.
