You can then cancel the Hologuise and walk around normally, getting the bolts in the same way as in this. Also in the original, if you side jump around the lady you talk to to enter the race over and over, her boobs get bigger... I'm not even joking.
id like to call something out, when you get to the race track, do not go backwards, follow the track like youd do normally if you are in the race, theres an overboard in the line that marks the laps, and if you go near that thing itll begin the race
It's been like 10 years since I last played this game, but I opened it up on an emulator receantly, among a bunch of other old classics from my childhood. I kinda wanted to get a gamestate similar to my old full cleared, everything unlocked one, that I actually got in a legit way. But on playthrough 1, even after gettin all 40 gold bolts, and doing every sidequest to get everything possible in the game, I still didn't have enough bolts to buy myself a RYNO again. Let alone the gold weapons for a challenge mode run. This glitch comes in quite handy.

I think it's cool they didn't fix this. I mean...glitch ing certainly wouldn't be for everyone...but then isn't that the same with any coded cheat games can have? And unlike some coded cheats, this glitch still needs time and effort.
I used a glitch because I didn't want to play through the game like 6 times, I played through 3 times in total and I am still worried, because this game has a value to me, deep in my heart because it was a game I played with my Dad as a kid, and I am worried if I play it too much now, I will dis-asociate it with that and instead it will be associated with the constant grind for bolts in my long-term memory. On my third play-through on the ps3 trillogy a day ago as I posted this comment, I did something like this, taped the controller and left it, I don't like using glitches for games, but I also don't want to kill any nostalgia I feel from this game.

By just replaying the game in Challenge Mode. Thats the intended way. You aren't meant to easily afford the RYNO on a first playthrough. It trivializes everything.
The Armor Magnetizer would probably make this more efficient. I didn't know of this way though, i thought only the hologuise method worked, and it was patched in the HD version. So i did this legit. Took me five and a half playthroughs to get 1mil bolts. Yay...
I want to acknowledge the fact that there is another glitch in Blackwater to get infinite bolts. It involves going into the sewer and breaking the last pipe gate . You stand in it's spot, turn to the left and use the Taunter. Much easier than this one.

thats awesome when i was growing up i talked to boob lady when i had the outfit changer as the robot and it glitched me to the race track i havent gotten there yet again but i will try it again on the ps4 and see if its patched
Is this glitch only possible once? Because I did the glitch until I got like 50k then found some other expensive thing so I went back to it again and now the boxes are gone and won't come back no matter what I do. They don't even show up during the hoverboard race
I agree that if you've played the game in full and have enjoyed it as intended first than why not abuse the game a little. Its like going back to your childhood and picking apart a game that troubled you for so long and then using these glitches to just laugh at the game. This glitch in particular I feel is ok because it helps get all the weapons which adds to the variety of things you can use to kill everything :3 Murdering green slimes or spaceships is no fun if you don't get to chose between a high powered missile or a machine gun.
there is this glitch to getting the million bolts but I did a different one involving going under to the sewers and using the taunter, it took me a solid 26 hours to obtain the million mark but I got it then continued on which made getting everything else in the game including the RYNO a non issue, fun game but I hear the rest of the games in the series are so much better and so far that holds true since I got 4 others with platinums on them
You can return to reuse the crates, walk up the large ramp right before the crates turn around and back and the pile of crates will reappear. Alos, do not make the same mistake I made the first time I did this, do not close the game to escape the glitch, you will LOSE THE BOLTS!!! You must find/walk/jump a route to re-enter the actual gameplay area from the glitch area.
Atleast in the other Games, you get an multiplier from the second playthough on - which is more then enough to get enough bolts on the second playthrough, provided you know how to play of course.

It seems that when you glitch onto the track, and break boxes, everything that was broken this way, stays broken, meaning if you break these boxes for an hour or so, then come back to it, the boxes are gone, and as far as I can tell, dont re-spawn at all... so... yeah...
Meh. I just speed ran the game about 7 times to get the mil. It honestly wasn't that hard. Even if convenient, I don't have the "patience" for it. Obviously I had the patience to play the game 7 times, but it's a different kind of patience in my mind....if my PS3 is going to be running for 10 hours, it should be doing something. (I doubt that makes any sense to anyway, but it makes sense to me.)
There's a new way. used the disguise, tall to someone that let you in the race, the disguise will go away, and u are in the race with no hoverboard ( I never even do this yet) hd collection ps3 or ps2
I don't usually like abusing glitches. I'll try them out just for the sake of doing it for myself and some glitches can be real interesting, but for the most part, they kinda break the game. If someone else wants to use them, I've got no problem with that, but me personally, I tend to avoid them.
Same here, but in THIS situation, even if you're not going for trophies, the requirements to buy everything are so ludicrously high compared to what you can obtain from "legal" methods that I wouldn't even dream of foregoing the glitch method. Heck, it goes so far as to make it downright idiotic to dismiss the glitch!

Broke out the PS2 for fun. Did this glitch for the first time with the heli-backpack. Like you said, the game been out for over 10 years. It’s ok to glitch.
I am using pliers - surprise, grabbing the right side of the controller with the pliers and clamping them down on the button actually works better than tape as long as you put the controller down on a flat surface and don't touch it. And make sure they are small pliers!
This kind of reminds me of when my brother couldn't work out Super Paper Mario in the mansion when you have to get a million rubees. He just went on the treadmill and taped down the dpad and left it overnight, rather than doing the whole vault thing.
There's actually a much easier way to do this glitch, Josh. I'm not sure if it works in the HD version, but if you use the Hologuise while entering the races, you can also get onto the track to do the infinite bolts glitch. I think I had the Bolt Grabber, or whatever it is that makes bolts come to you, when I did it, which helped quite a bit. And then I just left it on...I think for a day or two and I managed to get a couple million bolts. More than enough for everything in the game. :)
Hmm, I seem to recall that if that happens then you played too far, you have to do it basically as soon as you can so you don't miss the chance to, because at a certain point the game no longer let's you perform the glitch (from what I remember, this could be very wrong, I'd Google it!)

A few people in the comments had the same issue. I accidentally threw 2 and clipped right through. Did it a few more times to check and worked every time. This honestly took me almost an hour to work and lots and lots of decoy glove ammo. I't was NOT so easy as it seemed. But i finally made it :)
I done it in 3 minutes but it takes a long time you need the decoy in a perfect spot for it to work so I relate.

For some reason this is refusing to work for me, all it does is make my screen shake when I pop up the decoy

This glitch is even easier in the original version. You literally just talk to the "Booby Lady" while Holo-Guised.

The first time me and my cousin did that glitch we used a can of sausages.
This worked for me, it didn't at first but all you have to do is place more Than one around you so your kind of trapped then it eventually worked
I believe the 1million bolt trophy is cumulative (you don't need 1M bolts at one time).. still, it would take 3-4 playthroughs to get it.
Thank god this works for ps2 lmao. Revisiting it now and I completely forgot how lame and lackluster bolt grinding can be

It's easier on the original version. Just talk to the "booby lady" while Hologuised and you'll be teleported to the track on foot.

Not the only way to do this glitch. There is another way to get into the track with a gadget that we have yet to get in this LP
The way you are referring to as far as I am aware was patched in the HD remake, so will only work in the original game or platinum edition version.
I only own the original so that is the only version I can refer to as far as glitches go.
