- How To perform the infinite money / bolt glitch on planet Rilgar in Blackwater City (Ratchet & Clank 1 HD Collection PS3). This is (as far as I know) all the current infinite bolt glitches in the game. Or at least the effective ones. I am aware of Bolt Grinding/Farming techniques which I may cover in another video.

Just a heads up, if you do this with a dualshock 4 controller with the hd collection on ps3, and hold down the button to use the taunter, then unplug the controller it'll continue pushing the button without the need for a rubber band or anything.

What I do is Is once I have the circle button held down, I take the controller out of range and it continues to use the taunter

Only problem I would watch out for is your ps3 going into sleep mode. Mine shut off in the middle of the night. Now I’m wishing I would have left my crap controller taped and connected. Good thing I made a back up save when I got to 147,000 so I could get the ryno. When I loaded that save the boxes vanished so I guess it’s a next play through for me.
I did the SI on the tree (PS Vita) and it worked perfectly for me, after I watched a tutorial for the SI. Thank you very much!

Wall clips are precise even in speedruns
I think the easiest strategy for 90 degree angle wall clipping is centre camera when walking at the wall, hold l1 and look down and left a tiny bit, the position should work. I'm bad at the wall clips in speedrunning lol
Bought the RYNO when I was a kid after farming the bolts needed thinking I needed to do it for the story and about to relive the experience years later. Thanks for making it easier btw :)
Just earned the bolt collector trophy after using the bolt glitch on my challenge mode run. The trophy for 1 million bolts popped at 600K for me given its culmative.

I was at 300,000 bolts after 2 playthrough,s and they wanted 1 million bolts for the trophy that's 4-5 playthrough's

I once did this glitch successfully by just entering the race with the hologuise. The second time I tried those boxes wouldn't spawn
Just wanted to say thanks for this video! I just completed this today. The truck method was the only one I tried and it was super easy to get to the racetrack that way.
I'm on PS5/PS Premium. So for anyone else that's doing the same, use a rubber band to hold your right joystick in the up position so that it doesn't kick you for inactivity

@@tugaybasoglu9552 no problem! I was able to use the same rubber band to keep the right joystick pointed up and a AAA battery held over top of the circle button.
Make sure your PS5 isn't set to turn off/rest when you turn your TV off too
I changed the circle button to R2 button with accesibility options in my PS5 and used the same rubber band to press the right joystick and R2 at the same time
I actually im playing on an emulator with a cosmic byte controller i basically have a button called auto mode where basically when you press the circle button and then you press the auto button you will be continually spam it forever free hand im really glad i have this option lmao
The wall glitch and the double jump on the tree glitch worked for me. Thank you for explaining it so well. Other videos left me mystified. Also, thanks for explaining that bonus glitch in the tunnel at the end. That tunnel glitch didn't work for me.
Anyways, I am on the track. After 1 hour, went from 6000 to 49000 bolts. Gonna get me the RYNO and maybe the 1 mil bolts trophy.
Lastly, I am streaming the game through PS Premium. I had the button taped down to continously run the taunter. However, PS Streaming didn't count that as input and almost timed out after 10 minutes/disconnected me from my stream. I wrapped a rubberband around the controller and right joystick to keep the camera rotating. So far so good after 50 minutes with no timeout warning.

So I got to play this game when the ps2 first came out in Hawaii to this day, I have never owned the RYNO from the first game, I just saw this many years later. I bought the game for the ps3 last night and am now camping on the racetrack. Thank you very much for an amazing video, just got to the planet, I went the captain quark route, just cuz I chose that route first on accident, but I still made it to the track!!! Again, thank you very much
Update* I now have 792,000 bolts, took me a lil bit cuz the tape trick wasn’t working so i used the corner of the ps3 to hold down the ⭕️ button
Thanks for posting. The decoy method has been a poor performer for me. Jumping onto the truck worked out pretty easy.
Very, very helpful, thank you so much. Been re-playing through the original version these days, and with a set goal of finally beating the game (since I never have before), and got to Orxon or what ever planet where you can buy the two health upgrades, accidentally hit the button to buy the second upgrade, wiped out all of my bolts, it auto-saved, and I still had not bought a few other things I was currently saving up bolts for. Anyway, the truck / 4th method did the trick for me, now letting my controller sit with a pipe-wrench gently holding the O circle button down.

For those having issues with the glitch, I found the Tesla Claw to be the next most effective weapon to fight Drek with in the final stage. It's 40,000 bolts normally, or 30,000 Bolts with the Hypnotizer, and does a fair old amount of damage.
Also worth noting that the non-NG+ Gold Bolt Store is just after the second Qwark bossfight on Gemlik Base. You can ride a hidden lift up to the Gold Bolt store and use your Gold Bolts to buy upgraded versions of your weapons.
This is insane to find out after two decades of playing the game. Thanks!!!

There's a way to instantly get teleported to the track on foot, you have to use the boost with the Clank jetpack thing right at the girl that gets you in the race and change suit while you do it and you'll just get teleported there on foot, i don't remember if it's exactly like that because I did that when I was like 7 years old, but it's definitely way more simple than this
you obviously have to do all that really fast tho, i did that on the original PS2 version

There’s also the Hologuise method which is super easy and consistent.
After several tries i got the SI with the quark van on the hd trilogy.

There’s a glitch where you can just get off the hoverboard you do some weird thing with the camera and it despairs all the other racers but there hoverboard are still there

@@keen9686 I’m not sure if anyone else has discovered this glitch it’s not that useful other than it’s the easiest way to get on to the hoverboard track on foot as there is little effort
The truck glitch is the only one I had success with, the decoys kept flinging me out of the corner instead of into the wall and I was only able to land on the tree once before slipping off immediately.
Just set up a ps2 for my 10 year old daughter who is playing this now!!

When you get to the location and have to hold O this might sound crazy but walk as far as you can from your ps3 while holding O until your controller disconnects and you won’t have to use a rubber band or whatever just make sure you’ve changed your ps3 settings so your console doesn’t auto switch off

In the vita, the only method that works is doing an SI off of Quark's trailer, considering that the trees are a much lower res which means that performing an SI off of those is impossible in that version.

I wanted to redo the Bolt Glitch but the Chests on the platform are gone...
If using an emulator to play. U can set a macro to keep it going and u can boost speed by 5x.
I'm not the type of guy who would rely on cheats, glitches, or even just simply guides to complete a game. However! Number one: I ain't going to waste my time grinding for a million bolts for a trophy. Number two: I'm the type of guy who likes to get the 100% on my first run, so I have to get that Ryno as fast as possible. Finally, number three: It's the Ryno goddammit! I want to get it as soon as possible before making it to the final chapters.
My point is, as much as I dislike using cheats and exploits, I however have no regrets in utilizing this glitch.
I wouldn't have regrets either. I am pretty sure to do the trophy legitimately, you had to play the game around 5 times over. Even though I have played this game several times, I still think that trophy is a little too tedious as well.
My only suggestion, for your experience, is that I'd only use the RYNO for sections of the game that you're stuck on. The highlight of this game is the assortment of fun weaponry. However, play the game in whatever way you find fun (e.g. annihilating an entire group of enemies with one shot of the RYNO).

i know it works on the ps2 version but if you just enter the race when the hologuise active will spawn ratchet walking on the track.

The method in the tunnel works on all of the ps2 versions, It's not the best way to grind bolts but it works.
It takes roughly a minute to get 500 bolts, and about 32 hours to get 1 Million bolts
I'd keep an eye on this part since this game is on PS Plus now.

@@keen9686 I think Planet Rilgar is the favorite place for most people who have played this game. It contains such a mystery. You could jump and walk on some of the roofs of some buildings that were hidden from view. I will send you a link from another youtuber showing some places to get some ideas.

!!! i have a problem with boxes. The first time everything was fine. But when I entered the race track the second time, there were no boxes on top. I tried to restart the game, fly away and fly back to the planet, but there are still no boxes for the glitch
I'm playing today using the Steam Deck via emulation with PCSX2 and I just set the touchpad button on my dual sense as circle then through steam went in the options for the button and set the toggle on so I don't even have to turn the controller off.
God I love the steam deck and I burned my games from physical copies I bought years ago.
So I am on challenge mode now, and I tried it and it worked. However, I went back on the same challenge mode and it’s no longer there.
Can I do a second challenge mode play through and will it work again?
The one with the pipe works in ps2 100% bc i used it a few times but it works only once time per save but idk why

As for me, I have a special case where I already tried it and sadly we can do this glitch once, so I wanted the finish the game but sadly I have a bug in Pokitaru and because of it I'm blocked and can't proceed to finish the game lol and I have only one save file. So I was wondering, if I try a new game, do all my previous bolts accumulated will be count for my trophy? I really hope so because I wasn't far from the 1 millions bolts 😩
Damn, I'm pretty sure you need 1 million bolts at once. I'm fairly sure it's not an accumulative trophy. If you start a new game, carelessly Speedrun to Rilgar and do the glitch, you can do it over night though. Hope this helps :)

I believe the trophy carries across all saves because it isnt a skill point

Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to reload a previous save to when you didn't break the boxes or finish the game and come back to Rilgar in an NG+ file. It's a bit buggy. When you break the boxes when your not in the race and you leave the area/planet with the boxes still broken. The game annoyingly for some reason saves the boxes in the last state you left it in. Happened to me as well :( . When you do the glitch you can't stop until you get all the bolts you need otherwise this may happen. Hope this helped

The only way I can play Ratchet 1 is by getting the RYNO early lol
For those streaming the game on PS Plus:
1. The trick still works.
2. On top of taping down the O button, you need a rubber band to hold the right stick so it keeps spinning around to keep you in the game or else the game will time out and boot you off after a certain amount of time.
That being said, the stream can still time you out after several hours so you can’t really leave it on all night, unfortunately. But you can leave it on for a few hours at a time and save periodically.
If you are wondering this method gets you to 1mil bolts in ~17 hours if im not mistaken.
Sti glitch still works on the blossom tree
On my save file the large boxes on the circuit are gone, even when I race there are no boxes. I play on the PSCX2 emulator
If Ratchet goes onto the track without a hoverboard, breaks the boxes and THEN proceeds to leave the planet, the boxes will not respawn (I couldn't tell you why). So you can only do this glitch once so you need to have gotten all the bolts you need in the first attempt.
To fix this either: (1) reload a save previous to when you first attempted the glitch or, (2) attempt the glitch again in an NG+ file/new game. (yes, both options are a pain in the bum)
If this is not the case the only other possible explanation that I can think of is that the PSCX2 port is not totally accurate to the original game which I'm not sure about.

Uh the crates are not there just like invisible , I wanted to do the glitch a second time for a million bolts but the l crates or not there is there any fix?
It's a one time glitch. You either have to, reload a save before you attempted the glitch first, or, start a NG+ file and just return to blackwater city
On NG+ and havent done the race yet. So if i jump off and come back the boxes should still be there since my only interaction with the track is the glitch right? Just dont want to run the console overnight (being a 2008 model) but figured could do it in 2 or 3 parts and just not do the race till I have the 1 million bolts
From what I remember, you have to do it in one go as there are a few ways where the glitch can go wrong relating to save points. Essentially, you don't -- at any point -- want the game to save until you get the amount of bolts you want. Why? When you break the boxes and let the game save, it locks the amount of boxes that are left (which can be zero). The games saves when you:
1. voluntarily save the game (of course),
2. leave the planet,
3. and when you complete the race.
If something does go wrong, your only options of recovery is to load a save before the glitch or to start an NG++ file.

just as an fyi, the second method doesnt work because the race track is above you but rather beacause there are boxes above the celing that dont get loaded and therefore keep respawning
Apparently it works on NTSC versions on the PS2 as the way the map loads is different (I think), there were three other methods which I couldn't do because of regional/platform differences 😕
The third one on the truck is the easiest to replicate on Vita
There is a chance that it can only happen ONCE.
My boxes wasn't even on the platform at all even when I was racing no boxes was up there

Hi Ultimo, unfortunately you need to get all the bolts you need in one go as the boxes you broke don't return after you leave the planet.
One way to get back the boxes is to reload a save before you initially broke the boxes, this probably isn't viable to you as you already have the RYNO.
The second option is to complete the game and start an NG+ file and then return back to Rilgar to redo the glitch.

I only managed to do it once because the boxes no longer come out on the course, whether I get there by climbing over the walls or starting the race :(

So what happens if the crates don’t respond more than once?
Unfortunatly you need to do it all in one go. To recover this your options are to:
a). Reload a save BEFORE you initially broke the boxes or,
b). Retry on an NG+ file (only useful for the achievement).
If you want the RYNO then this method isn't ideal, your next best bet is to actively bolt farm. The best method to bolt farm to my knowledge is the giant clank method on the Gadgetron HQ planet. The downside is that this method is tedious.
A passive alternative method is to use a different set of boxes on the track (one of the 2x2) but this method is a lot slower.

To me the easiest way is that method where you climb the van and thanks to that method I finally got one of the last two trophies I needed for the platinum
