I installed one of those 46 Gal Transfer flow's myself. Just used a floor jack to lift it. Not real difficult , but not too fun either. I did not have any problems. Months later I removed the bed on my 2018 Tundra 4x4 . THAT was pretty easy. So, I highly recommend that you take off the bed when you install this tank. It would have made things a metric buttload easier! Oh, I had the 26 gallon and I agree if I had the 38, I would have kept that. I looked into getting the 38 done but it would have been a $1000 more. I wanted the extra tank because I have a camper.
Looks like it came out good. It will definitely help on the long trips. I usually stop around a half a tank to fill up just in case I get caught in traffic and have to wait a long time.
Thanks, i live out west and haul a toy hauler that pushes my tundra in the mountains. That is going to be a game changer for me. Im going to put some money back into my payed of tundra for 10 years. Can't see spending that insane amount of money on a new ttuck. Im just going make lmy truck work for me. Like a Stupid large gas tank is on the top of my list.

How did you get the truck computer to know that the tank was now larger? I just had a 38 gallon tank added to my Tundra, but the truck fuel management system doesn't register that the tank is now 38 gallon, vice the prior small tank (26.4 gallons), as I remember....Appreciate your assistance.

Cool. When I bought the tank I believe it set me back $1400. I have since sold the tundra and now have a 2019 ram 2500. I loved my tundra just wanted something with more pulling power.
The “miles till empty” is off and the paper that was in with the instructions tell you how to read the gauge. Like it says when u have 1/4 tank u still have 15gal and it’s been on the money when I fill it up. No issues with it just had some air in the line for like 3weeks which made it not really wanna start right away but now it has no issues I love it!
@@almostoutdoors, has the "Miles Til Empty" figure adjusted to the larger tank, or is that calc hard coded in the ECU for a "mileage/26-gallon" figure?
Great vid, I have the small tank and just ordered this tank for my 2016 directly from transfer flow, for the same reasons you stated, other website sold it cheaper but it was like, are they gonna send me the right tank???? I talked with transferflow and they said they dont think that the computer DTE could only be recalibrated. They told me to try the dealer IF AT ALL POSSIBLE... that sucks. Did you ever find a way to re-calibrate it? BTW the comments on part 2 of this video are turned off...
I did not. I’ve since sold my tundra 🥺 and got a 2019 2500ram. I’ll always be a tundra guy but when it comes to towing more weight it’s a 3/4 ton for me.

No problem. Always nice to chat with people who watch my videos. It will fit 2007-2018 Tundras. Manual doesn’t say if it’s legal in CA but if you check the Transfer Flow website it may tell you there. Good luck!
You can install it on a Cali truck, the problem comes when you go to smog it, it will fail the visual inspection by the technician, it has to have the stock tank... But if you really wanna go there, there's a vendor in Yuma AZ you can go buy it from, check the transfer flow website for "dealers" in AZ

How much clearance is there between the rear of the tank and the rear axle? It looks really close.

Never did anything to the system once I added it. Once the gauge started moving, just used it like normal
