At lease Jason was smart enough to experiment with different ingredients, while the others almost just guessed at the ingredients. Sometimes, it takes more than just a palate to recreate a dish to near perfection. You gotta put in the effort, work at it, until you get it right, and that’s how Jason won the challenge, rightfully so.

@@sonicboy678 I don’t agree with that. They’ve done this challenge numerous times, since all the way back to Season 2, and it’s a Cardinal Test for any chef to replicate a Signature Dish

Jason got all 3 right! Recreating something from mere taste is a phenomenal skill.
And this is coming from the chef who got every answer wrong in the blind taste test that shows just how much Jason has grown throughout this season.

Crazy how in all of these challenges all but one person picks the right thing each time so that they can eliminate them one by one, almost like its scripted...
@@jamesallison7830 Yeah. That's kind of weird. Maybe Gordon saw what each of them did, so purposefully eliminated them off one by one, because there were some similarities.
@@potatoesforlife1234 seems only logical to do it that way. How else do you eliminate them? Maybe the purée on Melanie was wrong too, but it makes sense to go from one key ingredient to the next.
The one things that would be scripted is if they told everyone that they should always choose at least one different ingredient in a certain component from the others. Like: three have chosen butternut squash, so one must choose something alike like pumpkin.

In this challenge you are meant to recreate the dish, not make it better.
I feel like watercress or parsley is hardest to tell from a puree'
Parsley has a strong & bitter flavor, while Watercress has a subtle & light peppery taste. Though you’re right, it could’ve been any leafy green or herb purée.

Yes Jason is a great cook with lots of confidence but I he doesn’t have the leadership skills that Scott has tbh.
(He proved that when he was running the pass. Scott shrived for perfection and out did everyone when he ran the pass the first time.
But I know chefs like Jason. I think he would be a great sous chef, senior sous chef or head chef but an executive chef position for a caliber of Gordan Ramseys restaurant.
He would easily be a better chef than the rest, but not good enough to be an executive. Sorry.

Scott kicked out Jessica when she was actively destroying his service (not intentionally), yet Gordon was the one who had to kick out Sandra while she was intentionally sabotaging Jason's service
Recreating Gordan Ramsey's dish is just cooking it's like trying to make a masterpiece.

Easily the best black shirt class ever.
I would rank season 14 as the best.
It has the best winner (Megan) and the remaining 5 black jackets were all brought back and 3 of them (Milly, Nick, Michelle) made it to black jackets the 2nd time with Michelle winning.
I haven’t seen any of hers black jackets come back to compete.
Usually the ones the majority goes with is the correct one, and I certainly don't think Gordon uses escolar in any of his dishes! Well done to Jason for winning that one.

I’m just shocked that Scott would think Gordon Ramsay would create a dish using escolar.
For some background info, escolar is a cheap fish that some restaurants use in place of white tuna, that has a waxy substance that’s not digestible, causing intestinal problems later on.

This is one of the more entertaining seasons with great black jackets, but I don’t know if any season will ever match the Meghan & crew season.
