As a Poole resident it was nice to see you entering England via Poole. I live on Poole Quay, directly opposite the port. Tuesday evenings and Sundays are always good bike meets on the Quay. I highly recommend revisiting in the summer and attending a Tuesday evening bike night. Plenty of places to eat, plenty of places to stay and a very pleasant way to start an adventure in England. Ride safe

The walk around the cemetery was a stark reminder that we should not become complacent. We occasionally need reminding that there are people who sometimes want to harm us and sometimes we need to fight back. I don't think anyone could or should be offended by your filming. I drove after ABR to the ferry to Cherbourg and then Saint Malo and until Biarritz to Wheels and Waves. After that always between France and Spain through the Pyrenees and to Andorra before I went back to Switzerland. Was a nice and sometimes very hot trip. I was the closest 100km away from Barcelona. Great region there where I do wanna go again.

Unfortunately I have 8 days left to do this trip; a little to short I guess. I went to Norway by car last year. It is beautifull, you won't regret it. The best chance of nice wether is in july.

When you were in Britain you should have checked out youth hostels. For a solo traveler they're brilliant & cost a fraction of Airbnb. I know they're called youth hostels but they're full of people of every age. Next time you're in the UK check them out.
It's funny that you show countries i'd love to visit for a few days as well. Spain, UK, France, Norway also include on that list for me. But also Luxemburg, Germany, Belgium around the Ardennes. Since I haven't been there ever. I've been to the 3 landen punt once but not into the mountains there, also been in Monschau, Germany once when I was little, but also didn't really went on the mountains there. So I would be mindblown to see and be around mountains for real. Also credits to you for documenting and do the stuff you want to, even with the cemetery and what's going on in the world. Much respect for that, nothing wrong with speaking your mind, guess that's the Dutchie in you still lol. 😂

You should consider slowing it down and filming much more of your surroundings. You jump from one morning to the next with no content in between. This trip alone could have produced many videos. Enjoyed what you did put up.
Thanks Harold, I appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind. Unfortunately I simply did not have enough time on the way over to stop a lot, and once out of the Pyrenees, I just felt the roads and views were a bit disappointing and just all the same; I think if I had used more of the footage, it would be too much of the same and a bit boring to watch. Also, I ride to enjoy the ride and I create a video of that; I don’t ride to create a video, if that makes sense. So absolutely, the footage could be better, but it would take more planning, stopping, etc. and that would take away from the actual riding experience. But again, I do appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind for the next video. What would you like to see more? The towns and highlights, or more helmet-cam footage?

Talking of war cemeteries here in Thailand I visited the Japanese Hellfire Pass, where thousands of prisoners of war were literally worked to death building a railway, a museum/memorial made by Australian and other foreigner govts to remember the people who died, although well put together I found so graphic I had to leave early, it was so painful to witness the terrible inhumanity of man, some people visit every year about April to remember these brave men. They will never be forgotten, I left thinking we should be doing everything we can to stop war, not make war, but even today it goes on.

Hi Joachim, Thanks for the kind words. I use an Intercom / Helmet camera from Sena, the 10C EVO. All helmet/riding shots are made with that. All the rest is done with a DJI Pocket 2 🙂
I'm curious how your phone does when it gets to 38C? I live in a place where 38C+ is not uncommon in the summer but my phone shuts down due to the heat. I'm wondering how to avoid this. I use it for just about everything like GPS, music, etc. BTW love the vids!
Good question! It has definitely happened but I don't remember it happening during riding... 🤔Perhaps it's was catching just enough airflow to not overheat? Not sure how to avoid it when it does happen while riding...

When you were in Britain you should have checked out youth hostels. For a solo traveler they're brilliant & cost a fraction of Airbnb. I know they're called youth hostels but they're full of people of every age. Next time you're in the UK check them out.

Not just in England but everywhere in Europe and your membership in one country will be accepted. Much cheaper to that than sleeping in tents in rain

It's funny that you show countries i'd love to visit for a few days as well. Spain, UK, France, Norway also include on that list for me. But also Luxemburg, Germany, Belgium around the Ardennes. Since I haven't been there ever. I've been to the 3 landen punt once but not into the mountains there, also been in Monschau, Germany once when I was little, but also didn't really went on the mountains there. So I would be mindblown to see and be around mountains for real. Also credits to you for documenting and do the stuff you want to, even with the cemetery and what's going on in the world. Much respect for that, nothing wrong with speaking your mind, guess that's the Dutchie in you still lol. 😂

I've been to Greece a couple of times but never by motorbike. Would be fun to go island hopping :-)
You should consider slowing it down and filming much more of your surroundings. You jump from one morning to the next with no content in between. This trip alone could have produced many videos. Enjoyed what you did put up.
Thanks Harold, I appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind. Unfortunately I simply did not have enough time on the way over to stop a lot, and once out of the Pyrenees, I just felt the roads and views were a bit disappointing and just all the same; I think if I had used more of the footage, it would be too much of the same and a bit boring to watch.
Also, I ride to enjoy the ride and I create a video of that; I don’t ride to create a video, if that makes sense. So absolutely, the footage could be better, but it would take more planning, stopping, etc. and that would take away from the actual riding experience.
But again, I do appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind for the next video. What would you like to see more? The towns and highlights, or more helmet-cam footage?

Talking of war cemeteries here in Thailand I visited the Japanese Hellfire Pass, where thousands of prisoners of war were literally worked to death building a railway, a museum/memorial made by Australian and other foreigner govts to remember the people who died, although well put together I found so graphic I had to leave early, it was so painful to witness the terrible inhumanity of man, some people visit every year about April to remember these brave men. They will never be forgotten, I left thinking we should be doing everything we can to stop war, not make war, but even today it goes on.
I feel you... it was so impressive and as you say, it just keeps going on and on. Horrible 😞
hi . not so fan of bassie en adriaan . but was fan of fabeltjeskrant en pipo de clown and paulus de boskabouter . ha ha . and like to drive motorcycle most of the time on dutch roads . all kind of roads is ok . you have nice film .only missed the names of the both harbours you took .

That's a great tip, thanks! I'll keep it in mind for the next video. The two main things you saw in this video were the American War Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France and the ABR Festival in Warwickshire, United Kingdom.

Thanks for the kind words. I use an Intercom / Helmet camera from Sena, the 10C EVO. All helmet/riding shots are made with that. All the rest is done with a DJI Pocket 2 🙂
I'm curious how your phone does when it gets to 38C? I live in a place where 38C+ is not uncommon in the summer but my phone shuts down due to the heat. I'm wondering how to avoid this. I use it for just about everything like GPS, music, etc. BTW love the vids!
Good question! It has definitely happened but I don't remember it happening during riding... 🤔Perhaps it's was catching just enough airflow to not overheat? Not sure how to avoid it when it does happen while riding...

Definitely a thing here as well! And what made me giggle was being in the UK, riding on the other side of the road, instead of wave the would nod their head 😁 Every time I would imagine a British gentleman taking of their British hat 🎩 and nodding 😁
