I've found the newer version of 3dsmax causes the ghost jms exporter to act funky. Things like just creating the file, but writing no data to it, and holding the file open so tool can't use it. The new tool has the option to convert fbx-to-jms (and jma) and I've found that's more reliable. If you're having issue with the exporter corrupting maps, that might be something you could try in the future. I typically create a "raw" folder in the data directory for whatever object I'm creating. Then use tool fbx-to-jms to convert it into the models and physics folder. It also works outside of the "data" directory. So I just add tool to my path and I can convert models from where ever I am by opening a cmd in that directory by typing cmd in the top bar of the folder url. I REALLY want to write a wrapper for tool to make things easier.
@@thebutterappletutorials6553 thanks to your tutorials I was able to make a basic map and insert it into Halo CE MCC. Gonna figure out how to add maps to the menu instead of replacing them though…if there is a way despite 343i always updating the game.
I will wait for a Blender tutorial, I have never seen a tutorial on how to make a map for Halo CE with Blender
I really don't want to install 3dsmax
Should be coming either later today or tomorrow! Trying to work quickly haha
Could you do the same for halo 3 and what not? I’m guessing it’s not just a Halo ce only

Which is more user friendly? 3DSMax or Blender? Trying to get into Halo map modding myself.
Blender for sure! It's free and there's a ton of information on it. If you end up enjoying it can always check out 3DSMax after
