you need to do the halo 3 mod tools cause i don't know how to get shadows in my map for halo 3 and the radiosity command dues not work in halo 3
I load the map and the gathering exception data window popups or if you’re using chimena, it will say “The game has generated a segmentation fault.”
Hi. I’m new to Halo Map making and i followed your tutorial and another one to play my custom testmap. But for some reason, it always crashes every time i load it in the game. i changed the ownership of the game’s folder to my regular username and changed the permission. No major errors are generated in Guerrilla or Sapien. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. The map was exported properly but it just crashes ingame. Any tips on fixing the issue?

Duuuuude, Halo 3 tutorial when?
4:24 Ideally lighting like this in sapien isn't bad to do in a simple level. Just so you know for the future, you can use Tool to run lightmaps to your level that you made as long as you add a skybox to it then you can use "tool lightmaps" command in tool and it's much faster than doing it in Sapien from my experience. You can also use Osoyoos as a GUI for tool instead of typing the most common commands for tool. When using osoyoos you can pretty much set the desired result of your lightmaps, run the main mod tool programs on one click of a button including the tag test build that came with the new mod tools from 343. I'd recommend checking it out to help speeding the process of your tutorials without it being "too fast" to learn and understanding it.

Which is more user friendly? 3DSMax or Blender? Trying to get into Halo map modding myself.
Blender for sure! It's free and there's a ton of information on it. If you end up enjoying it can always check out 3DSMax after
@@thebutterappletutorials6553 thanks to your tutorials I was able to make a basic map and insert it into Halo CE MCC. Gonna figure out how to add maps to the menu instead of replacing them though…if there is a way despite 343i always updating the game.
Your tutorial is great! But I'm getting errors... I want to model a nice map, but every time I try the tool at 10:04 it yells to me saying that my map has errors, I've tried to fix them by making all models solids, but yet no success. Every model is joined with skybox, with UV Map, materials names and all. I'll keep trying and simplifying my map
Edit: I've made two maps and they're working (without the vehicles but ok). Thanks for the tutorial!
