    I believe both Naturium and Prequel are related to the Los Angeles based Brand Accelerator company called The Center. Though Naturium was bought out by E.L.F. so that may no longer apply.
    My favorite Naturium products are their Glo Getter Multi Oil to gel wash and its accompanying Body Butter as well as their Glycolic body wash The Smoother.
    For Prequel the Gleanser is fantastic. I use it every day in some way or another. I also find myself using the hypochlorous spray and the utility ointment every day. Her barrier cream is also very nice
    As a brand overall I would definitely choose Prequel over Naturium. Not a huge fan of Susan Yara tbh but I love Dr Ellis.

      Love these!!! I have definite faves from each, but agree with you that Prequel is overall my favorite of the two

    I like both brands very much! The reason why Naturium has so many products is because they address every single skin type and every single skincare concern. I think that’s pretty fantastic since not everyone has the same skin. They also have a routine builder on their website that it will ask you a few questions and then recommend a skincare routine with a few products.

    • @DanaRipperton
      @DanaRipperton  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh for sure! I love both too but my point was even with the routine builder the sheer number of products is overwhelming. Kinda like when you go on The Ordinary’s page. They account for everything but it’s A LOT

    I have tried Naturium so many times, but it always ends up irritating my skin! I do love the Gleanser though, it’s great!

    I find that the Glenser makes a fantastic hand soap and keeps my hands moisturized and not stripped. I however do not use it on my face as I find the texture a little "slimy" for my liking.

      Hehehe I can totally see that! That’s kinda why I love it though. That skin is from the glycerin 🤗

    I personally like both brands. Not all brands can be the same so I like the variety. The cleansers are my two personal favorites. I wish I could try the prequel sunscreen but unfortunately for my brown skin it may leave a white cast… and I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of paying for shipping for a return

    Very good comparison! Like both of these brands. I’m so glad we are finally getting some quality and less expensive skincare. That being said, I do like the quantity and variety of choices of Naturium products😅. Each of their body washes suit a different concern, and I love their soothing wash, especially considering it’s a huge amount for 16 dollars. Really like the prequel vitamin c, but my skin can only handle it once per week.

      I agree that Naturium has a product for pretty much everyone, but I sometimes feel like you need a PhD to know which to get 😅 and I definitely like both brands too!

    I definitely agree that naturium has too many products (especially cause a lot of them feel unnecessary), but I don't think the fast fashion comparison is necessarily fair. The issue with fast fashion and one of the major aspects of it is that fast fashion makes extemely low quality products, which naturium doesn't. Other than that, I definitely agree about prequel being a great brand with much better value!

    I’d be interested in a comparison between the Prequel Barrier Therapy Cream and the FAB Ultra Repair Cream or whatever it’s called, the one that has oatmeal in it?

    • @DanaRipperton
      @DanaRipperton  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think they compare all that much. Quite different consistencies. I’ve never found the FAB one to be that hydrating but it isn’t terrible

    What skin type would you say the prequel barrier therapy is best for? & price/value aside, prequel barrier cream vs Naturium ceramide, which texture do you prefer & why ?

    • @DanaRipperton
      @DanaRipperton  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly the barrier therapy is good for all skin types if you’re using it at night. That’s a hard question, bc I don’t find the texture of either to be unique or stand-outs. Maybe the Naturium by a hair

    • @dikemariel
      @dikemariel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DanaRipperton Thanks! The Naturium ceramide cream is thicker than the prequel barrier therapy cream, right ?

    Is the Prequel cleanser sticky? I imagine with 50% glycerin, my oily skin would not be happy.

    • @DanaRipperton
      @DanaRipperton  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It has a “different” consistency but it’s actually pretty smooth. That’s the main reason it’s so amazing

  • @jojo_909

    I agree that Naturium's single-ingredient products are a bit overkill and there's A LOT of redundancy in the line. multiple products in the same category that do the same thing, single ingredients that come in both a serum and a cream and a product for every exfoliant under the sun. It's too much

  • @kennethAmos8929
    @kennethAmos8929 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The prequel urea is body and face - the Naturium is face only…

    • @DanaRipperton

      @@DanaRipperton it just makes it and allround creme. Facial skin it more sensitiv then the rest of the body, and bodycreams Can be more strong and for some to strong for the face. And prequel urea fine for both face and body 👍

    • @mirandaleschke
      @mirandaleschke 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that's one of the things that goes into price. Ingredients cost a certain amount to source and the number of them in a product and what the ingredient is will change things. Prequels new barrier gel and balm are only 1.7 ounces I think and they're $18 and $20. Face and body products tend to cost less vs. just face products. :)

  • @cunty
    @cunty 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    when Prequel first came out i was super excited, but i don't like how their products are getting smaller and smaller while keeping the same high prices. it makes sense for a vitamin c serum, but $22 for a 50mL mineral sunscreen is not very competitive on the market if you ask me. their skin utility balm and ointment are also 50mL for $20 and $18 respectively, which feels like Naturium pricing. i feel like derma-care brands like cerave and cetaphil are typically associated with larger sizing as they expect you to use a lot of it, but it doesn't really seem like Prequel is adhering to that. i also feel like Prequel is catching up to Naturium's pace when it comes to releasing products; you said in this video there are 9 products. There are now 12. there are between 4 and 6 moisturizers in their lineup, depending on if you count the hand wrap and skin utility ointment. i was hoping they'd have a slow and steady pace so they'd have time to really test their products, but they're taking off like a rocket ship, which doesn't breed trust in my opinion.

    • @DanaRipperton
      @DanaRipperton  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good points! I pre-film so this was filmed before their 3 new products came out and it is starting to feel like they’re releasing more and more products very quickly. I don’t know if I agree on the pricing point though. Drugstore brand sunscreens are not cheap anymore, granted you get a lot more product in them. I think they’re still pretty affordable for what’s really more a brand capable of being in Sephora

    • @cunty
      @cunty 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DanaRipperton it is definitely true that drugstore brands are not cheap. i just shop k-beauty for almost everything so i have a very low pricing reference. i am still excited to try prequel though, you sold me on their cleanser!
