To anyone watching this and wondering what the outcome was and why he hasn't posted a follow up. When I had problems with my company with similar issues like his, I had to take it so far up that the company ended up just giving me like 2,000 bucks as basically hush money and made me sign a non disclosure agreement that i wouldn't talk about what happened or post any bad reviews etc etc. So it's possible if it got bad enough and this guy had to talk to CEO's to get his problem resolved, he has likely had to sign a non disclosure agreement. That's when you know you've won basically from my experience. The CEOs will knock heads around if they find out about these problems, the issue is, the CEO's are so far disconnected from the lower employees and 100% disconnected from any subcontractors they hire to do the jobs

As a salesmen for Eagle, anything over 30’ has to have a vertical roof, looks like they put a boxed eave roof on which the dealer you ordered from should’ve known better

@Camden Phillips hey Camden, I'm ordering something big from eagle carports to make a shouse out of to live in. I'm gona frame out a full interior with insulation and everything, is there anything I can ask for to make this more leak proof or any advice at all on if trying to make one liveable is even a good idea in the long run? I'm planning on getting the 2" insulation you offer, is there any other options besides the bubble and the 2" or do people ever use both? Didn't know if the 2" insulation was a vapor barrier also

The problem is EVERY prefab carport seller knows that EVERY person that chooses to buy a prefab carport is a SUCKER. So they are treated as such. It literally hurts my head to think about what you could have built for 10k+ (hint: its not a metal carport).

I paid over $20k and got a very cheap quality building. Silverline in Colorado as dealer. I was not told that Silverline was only a dealer and not the erector of the building until no one showed up on the scheduled build day. I took time off of work and waited a couple of hours and no one showed. I called Eagle and they said i was not on the schedule! Building is flimsy and I was not told of any options for a long term warranty.

  • @michaelaronowitz3761
    @michaelaronowitz3761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Mine leaked too, they said because I put some foam insulation in the end holes, I voided my 90 day warranty! Although mine was full length metal sheets from peak to peak- 26 feet. They do run those panels in the opposite way from anyone else, I guess cheaper way of doing it?
But each channel that fills up with water has the potential for a leak.
We had our monsoon weather and that gave it a good test. It had a leak on one peak end and a few seams about 10 feet from the end leaks also.
When I sent pictures, that is when they saw the foam insulation, so they said I voided the warranty!
I did dispute the final payment with the credit card company, but I just lost that route, "customer responsibility".
What was I going to do, have dirt blow in every crevice of the building and or wait till a big rain, (hardly rains in NM) -maybe they hope you won't get rain in 90 days (whoever heard of a 90 day warranty on a $10,000.00 building!
And no way the foam insulation caused a seam 10 to 15 away to leak!
So I guess I will have to seal all the seams myself. I could go on every WEBSITE and give a one star rating, but it looks like everyone has already! I may try to contact them again, but never got a response from my last email. From your experience they would have still come up with an excuse not to fix it!

I’m researching before I buy a building and Eagle carports was one of 3 companies I was looking at buying from. Thanks for this video. Customer service after the sale is most important and they have failed miserably here. Also vertical roof is what I am going with thanks to your video also!! Hope they do you right and fixed their product to your liking.

Looks like you should have put on a vertical roof instead of cheaping out and putting on a horizontal roof since since you spent that much money. You could have saved money with using horizontal walls. If you didn't know don't blame Eagle for you not doing your own research.

Only vertical roof comes in a full-length sheet. Vertical roofs are more money. The dealer should have explained the difference in roofs. But you got what you ordered minus a missing trim piece.Horizonal roofing over laps like yours.

After alot of research I decided to build my own steel shop. Theres alot of little problems with the kits they are selling. Problems the average person would never notice researching these. For example they dont come with full length sheets on a horizontal roof. This problem does not occur on verticle roof sheeting. The screws they use will leak at some point in time and will have to be replaced with larger screws. However screws are a maintenance item. They may or may not bring there own garbage can lol. They span 29 gauge metal roofing 5 feet! on those horizontal roofs, good luck getting those seams to stay sealed even with silicone. I still think these steel buildings are a great value but there are small details and compromises that should be looked at.

Contracted with Gatorback Carports and Eagle Carports for $6600 steel building. Building shifted and the walk-in door is jammed shut. Over the past week plus, made several calls to Gatorback which were answered with friendly sounding promises to fix, but no action. Today I was referred to “Chris” at Eagle who was unpleasant and could not say when they “might have a contractor in the area.” Chris said that if I “bashed them” in reviews such as this, I would be “put at the end of the line.” Guess I'm at the end of the line, but doesn't seem like I lost anything.

I'm sorry you went to a bad dealer who did not tell you that any sheet over 30' long needs to be the vertical style. They didn't even give you the good horizontal style that has clean edges. They gave you the cheapest style available. The contract you signed should say that if your building is over 31' long the roof must be vertical or there is a possibility of leaks that they will not be responsible for. I am a dealer and sell for 11 different manufactures in all 48 continental states and they all have that on their contracts. Some dealers just don't know what they are doing (Someone mentioned Gatorback) and this costs the customer time and money. In the future or anyone thinking of buying reading this you need to research the dealer AND the manufacturer. Keep in mind very few people report the good. As for the screens and trash it is possible they were damaged in transport but should not hve been installed. Not sure why they left so much trash. I have only had good, positive, happy customers with Eagle who only goes by another name in Florida.
Oh....and there is a warranty past the 90 day standard if you certify the building. If you needed a permit it should be certified. I do not sell uncertified buildings. Hope your issues were resolved but there is not much they can do about the roof since you bought the wrong one (not your fault).

I just had a building done. It is very cheaply done. I was not told of any extended warranty. Terrible communication with Silverline Dealer and with Eagle carports. Also, it is anchored to the ground with 24" anchors! My small run in sheds are anchored 5'. We get strong winds here. Never would do another one of their buildings.

The installer should have left plenty of water run off too

  • @indman101

use butyl sealer tape like they used on old classic cars if done correctly is will last along time, most of these steel garages and Carports do use this sealant all metal sheets using the screws with rubber washer can and will leak in time also the screws do back off over time so apply bit of sealer over the screws as well.

I got a carport last year from Carport US and I believe they used Eagle Carports. I called them last month complaining that the middle roof rail on the inside is rusting. They tell me it's normal. REALLY? Then why only one area is rusting and not the rest? I believe it's from a small leak. The lady on the phone said they could send us a can of silver spray paint. You got a cheap metal building. With supposed expensive stuff inside. Put some caulking on it. Or replace the panels yourself. Both are easy fixes. Obviously you said yourself you didn't do your research so it actually is your fault. Should the roof leak? No. They said they were gonna caulk it but you wanted a complete redo and you weren't willing to pay for your lack of research admittedly. Now the trash that's a different story they absolutely should have to come back out and pick up the trash

sorry but that is not a 10K building but none the less this is why it pays to go to a dealer that knows the product and can advise regardless of who makes it. Standard carport with a 30' plus roof was your cheapest option but not the right one. Install crews are contractors not employees so good that you told Eagle they left a mess but you were the one who had to sign off on the invoice and needed to tell the install foreman to take their shit with them. Here is TX we have very few problems with Eagle but I will say customer support is not the strong suit of this industry but it is getting better with Eagle.
