- 20X30X12 Vertical Roof by Eagle Carports. The 10 minute time-lapse video has four segments:
1) Dirt
2) Concrete Preparation
3) Concrete Pour
4) Final Build
Built November 11 - December 13, 2019.
Great video. I have reservations on that ground work. Lack of compaction and gravel to be specific. Good looking building.
Thanks for the comment. I don't know much about concrete but I know there have been zero cracks (so far). Great building. Have really enjoyed it. No regrets.
@@richbaker8505 My primary concern with the slab is there was no lip to prevent blowing rain from making it under the frame and rotting it out over time.
me and my crew made that garage 🦅 Carports!!
Good work crew
job well done, here footings need to be 12x12 or 12x18,...nice that you poured a approach also...how many yards?
With the slab prep it seemed odd to me that they wouldn’t choose to use gravel instead of trucking in dirt. And I didn’t see if they cut any control joints into the slab after it was poured. Overall though I really liked the video. Eagle is coming to install the same size building for us this week.
I know nothing about surface prep for concrete so I guess I was easily impressed, but the concrete came out looking great. Hopefully it stays that way. Good luck on your build. If you're into video or even pics, I'd love to see your build. Thanks for the response.
And no floor drains.
@@bradjenkins932 Common not to use floor drains in a carport building, unless the customer pays extra for the request...same as waste drains.
This was great! I enjoyed this thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@XoomLenz hola hagame una casa asi para mi
This house is waterproof
Pretty sweet, looking at doing a similar build, only going 9' high. Give an update once it's finished & your setup.
Thanks for the comment. No regrets; the crews that did the work did a great job. I'm still building/arranging the interior and will be for the next 30 or so years ;). The next step is to run power but honestly not in a big hurry. I had (4) 9' doors put in and I work during the day so I have a good amount of light. I use an extension cord for power from the house for the saws and welder. It works well for now. Good luck on your project.
XoomLenz finally pulling the trigger this week, wife want my tractor & SXS out of the garage before late fall/winter. She wants her & our kids cars in so they don’t have to scrape frost in the mornings.
About to have the same size done at my house with a 12 ft. lean-to added. Doing the slab myself just wanted to see who did the metal building and how was it constructed. Are you in Mississippi?
Hi redd1911, yes, south Mississippi. Still love the build. No regrets!
Does anyone know if they will do the job with the sidewall panels installed vertically instead of horizontally as it was done here?
You can get the panels turned vertical. We sell these buildings all over the country.
Mesh instead of rebar too?
great. once I'm from Indonesia..
Hi bangTRAS. I'm glad you liked it.
@@XoomLenz I'm very happy sir, because light steel is my job in Indonesia.👍💪🏼
Eagle Carports put up a garage for me, and it's great! I have one problem though, the walk through door is not square, and they won't stand behind it. Beware!
They put up one for us....i wish I'd never heard of the idiots. Roof has leaked since day one. A group of Mexican men who spoke like 5 words of English came out in the pouring rain and put it up. They had electrical cords running through puddles of water. They screwed up everything. The walk in door isn't right. I just found out that they put the roof panels up backwards and that's why it leaks. The window has zero screws holding it in. I ordered the building to have 9x7 garage doors.....they made the dang hole 9x7! The woman told me to make sure my door was exactly 9x7....i did. So instead of coming out to move the posts in and close the openings up about 1.75 inches they told me "it's fine it'll just have a small gap around the doors." I told them it's not correct and was basically told the owner knows everything about these buildings and said it's right so put the doors up. It's supposed to be heated and cooled so I told them that wasn't going to happen. She had me so mad I went ballistic she kept saying "we have you on audio recording." I told her your boss is a dumbass and I'd better not catch one of your people on my property or else. See they were real nice when we purchased it and when we first had issues. Then when it came time to fix it....crickets.
I lived in Mexico for 5 years. My take-away is: Mexico=substandard.
So, Eagle Carports does there own concrete work too?
Technically, I paid Eagle Carports one check and I'm pretty sure they contracted the job out. Thanks for the question.
How much it costs??
This was a $15K job, start to finish. Thanks for the question.
No footer? How thick is the slab?
I believe it was 4". It's been a year and no cracks.
I got mine at union structures awesome structures!!!
I'm dying to know how much that concrete slab alone cost?
$5K thanks for watching. I can't believe how many people have watched.
@@XoomLenz I paid $3400 for an asphalt slab that's as crooked as a $3 dollar bill. I'd say you did well, that was a lot of work. Thanks, enjoy.
i need this house, how can possible
Can u please tell me the items for the coulumn, the support and the roofing .... would really appreciate an answer. Thanks alit
The structure is made of 4" square tubing. I hope this helps. Kind regards.
Square tubing 14 gauge 2½ and panels 29 gauge.
It's square tube galvanized steel in either 14 ga. 2 1/2" or 12 ga. 2 1/4".
The steel roofing is 29 ga. Or you can upgrade to 26 ga. Max rib panel, I believe.
Was curious as to why such high sidewalls?
Great question! I struggled with that decision when contracting the building. I want to put storage in an attic in one portion (yet to be built by me). Also, I knew I'd be working with long material such as boards and metal. When moving those things around, inevitably, I'd end up in a tight situation with a low ceiling. As it works out I was right in my hunch. I love the height. No regrets. Thanks for the comment.
If they put a vehicle lift in,, from my understanding must be a minimum of 12 feet.
How much the distance between the columns? thank you
5'
Xoom is right. Most are 5' . You can get them at 4'.
Random....with eagle carports one will be 4 the next 5 the next 4 1/2, ect and don't expect them to be the same at the top and bottom.
@@stephenloague9140 Unless you specify it in the contract.
Nice build. How much for slab work?
$5.00/sq ft is fair. includes gravel/hardware cloth/rebar/plastic sheeting/forming/pouring/finishing.
$5k
@Ojibwa62 x concrete must be expensive where you live I just had a 25 x 30 x 6" slab poured for $2700 and built my garage 25x 30 x10 traditionally with a vertical metal roof for less than $4k. Back in May before lumber prices went out of sight. Still need to purchase two 10x8 roll up doors at around $400 each.
What's the cost for the whole project?
$15K
@@XoomLenz including cement??
The following comments are copy-paste from another video review of someone's Eagle Carports install that I posted. I think it's important for people to know what happens when you work with Eagle Carports. Stellar sales experience set us up with confidence... but buyer beware!!!
We're currently in the in-between: our garage was erected, a shoddy job - many issues match this person's (in a different video I found) - but we also have other issues.
I asked them what options we have. They said they'd send out the original crew to fix the problems. The photos and videos I sent to Eagle Carports were taken AFTER I had the original crew "fix" them, before they left the first time (in other words: don't send the same crew).
So, Eagle Carports said they'll send a different crew. First date they were slated to come, I received a text saying they would be delayed til the next week. Then, it was pushed to Friday. Friday morning, they informed me they were running late. No one came Friday.
HELLO SATURDAY MORNING AT 6:45AM (the ONE morning I can sleep in): Phone call, "I'm at your front gate." Um, what?! NO! There was no call yesterday preparing us for this, and it's Saturday morning at 6:45am! WTH?!
To inform y'all of our issues:
Again, same as this video, at least what I watched of it (admittedly didn't watch it all - I was rudely awakened by their fix-it guy so I'm up now and going to post my experience to save others from this experience). Other issues: our price point meant free matching hardware - we got silver (our garage is off-white/bone colored). All the edges (bottom and sides) had exposed insulation sticking out... really good wicking material to grow mold after 1 good rain. The crew didn't erect it per instructions: parts labeled for "back" were installed on the front, the garage doors didn't line up with the prefab brackets, so the crew made their own holes. Same dented-in overtightened screws. Really concerned about the roof construction after watching someone else's review showing it leaking- our interior is covered by the insulation, so we won't know how much it leaks until it's saturated (which will be too late: welcome, mold!)
Of interest/note: our concrete slab was perfect BEFORE. Since the erection, there are cracks throughout the slab traversing end-to-end. We gave them the date of slab completion...
We had asked about OPTIONS. They offered to fix it. Stung after the first crew (who also demanded us to feed them! Yes, we offered breakfast tacos as we did for our concrete contractors, but they came to our door asking for lunch, and THEN again DINNER! Thank goodness we had a frozen pizza) we hesitantly agreed. Now, this morning's rude awakening. Frankly, my husband would've been happier to accept $ off the bill, except that whatever we would do will void the warranty.
Yeah, I'm starting to think that they only post the best reviews, and that they remove anything negative. Now I'm curious how many GOOD reviews are recent? Perhaps they're all pre-COVID? 🤔
Let's rename this video how to spread Base Rock.
Price
$15k total.
How much was this build ??
15K including the concrete.
@@XoomLenz seems a little high
Iske bare mein Jankari Den Kaise Banega banvana hai
thats not re bar, but looks ok!!!
That big tree next to your building shoulda been cut down might need to address that sooner or later.
Why so much loads of dirt
It may be hard to tell in the video but the ground has a pretty good grade to it and we were concerned about the water flow from around my house and smaller shop area above the new shop. Basically, it was built up to keep from erosion.

That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
THEY DIDNT USE RE BAR!!!
The rebar came in at 4:51. Thanks for watching.
Rebar was added around the edge in the beam. They put mesh wire in the body of the slab.
