The 590 since you can’t buy the 550 anymore brand new. I just used the 550 in this video as an example because it was the only 5.1 AVR I had on hand at the time. 👍
Thank you for making home theatre set up so easy to follow. I did follow your instructions & wow! I didn't think my system would sound so good. Even listening to my Carpenters CD the stereo sound stage was great. The separation between instruments in the stage I've never been aware until now. Cheers!
see that some are having issues with the Sony STR-DH590 sound set up dialing in the SW because the 'on screen' GUI only has limited options. have that model coming in the mail and have been reading (hearing?) all I can prior to installation. got the 5.1 Klipsch's myself to match up with this unit. a post by the cheapaudioman not recommending the unit because of this hassle has really thrown cold water on my expectations. I just may go all manual with the thing. as yet have the Klipsch's hooked up to a mini-amp (Fosi BT30D Pro) and they sound great.
Hello, I have the Logitech 906z 5.1 surround system, its great. But If I buy one of the SONY's will it make it better. Also I can make the image better if I plugged my blue ray or Ultra hd 4k player? Thank you.
Best guide for beginners so far. Thank you Can someone suggest pair of bookshelf speakers and a central channel, and a budget 5.1 receiver to guide them?
Great video! I do have a question. Four of my speakers are in the ceiling. My problem is that I only hear the front two with my center speaker. The rear ceiling speakers are the surround speakers and I hear nothing. I’ve tested them in the test mode and there’s sound. What am I doing wrong or is it up to how the audio is broadcast?
@@ealanosborne A movie on Netflix. Usually the Netflix music note when you launch the app you’d hear with the sub woofer only comes out of the center and front speakers.
I have the same STR-DH550, but once when I wanted to check my subwoofer cable because the sub was acting weird, the cable touched a wrong part apparently and a small explosion happened, now something is stuck in one of my subwoofer out ports, have no clue how to get it out but I can't put a cable in it anymore, the other one works fine, but I am limited to .1 instead of .2 now.
I’m not familiar with that soundbar at all, so your guess is as good as mine. The HT-MT300 doesn’t seem to have any audio outputs - just inputs - and those inputs are limited to optical and 3.5mm. The only outputs on the DH590 are from the speaker terminals or HDMI, so you’d have to get a little creative with adapters just to make it work. I’m not seeing it, but I’d love for a Sony rep to show me how it’s done, because I’d be very interested in knowing how to pull that off. 🙌
For a connection using the Optical input on the receiver, would it be the same as the hdmi arc? Plug everything in the tv, then from the tv using an optical cable to the receiver optical input? Is there any difference in that setup?
Audio-wise, they should sound the same. Although a lot of 5.1 AVRs nowadays are CEC compatible over HDMI which allows you to control volume and other features via your TV remote. So that’s nice, in case you don’t have line of sight to your AVR (like me, since mine is in a media closet). You can’t get CEC control over Optical. Something to consider. 👍
@@ealanosborne You not only answered my question, but I didnt know you can use your tv remote to control the speaker volume using ARC. That's awesome! Thanks. Literally made my life one less remote using my 2.1 sound bar now. I want to upgrade to a 5.1 sound system in the future so I am doing research using your videos and it has helped a lot! Thanks!
Hey Ellen just a quick question, can I somehow hook up a pair of powered speakers as well as passive speakers to my 5.1 receiver, just curious… thanks!!
No, unfortunately. As far as I know, I don’t think there are any consumer powered speakers that can have their internal amp bypassed, to be integrated into a home theater systems. I wish you could, though! 😄
I have the klipsch reference pack and the yamaha v385, and the sub is connected wirelessly. My question is where should i set the crossover/low pass knob?
If I want to run an Xbox Series X, a receiver and a projector, everything goes IN to the receiver and the only thing going OUT of the receiver is to the projector? I haven’t purchased the receiver yet but some advertise as having only 1 HDMI input. This setup would exclude me from adding any other audio source (like a turntable for music), correct?
If everything is connected to the receiver, yes - you would only need 1 HDMI cable going out to your projector. Most receivers nowadays have many HDMI inputs - at least 4, I think. And a lot come with phono input support for a turntable. So if it also has a phono input, you’re golden. 🤘
Yes, you can use standard banana plugs with the style of speaker terminals that are on the receiver in this particular video (they’re called 5-way binding posts). With spring loaded speaker terminals, since the hole to insert the speaker wire is smaller, you’d want to get “pin banana plugs,” since they have skinnier tips. 👍
I need some assistance. I have cable box and a Roku, should both connect through the receiver first. But, when we want to just watch news or a TV show without going through all of our speakers how would we make this connection? We’d just like to use the TV’s speakers for news programs and regular TV shows. And is it possible to set up the receiver so that when we turn on the Roku box it “triggers” the receiver to come on automatically? Our receiver is a Marantz SR5010. Thx
Great Presentation. You noted that your receiver is located remotely in a closet. I have a similar setup. I installed a Smartcraft IR emitter to control devices (Sony A/V, BlueRay, Apple TV with my universal remote. Remote seems to be working fine and sensor is definitely receiving the signal but my new Sony DH590. receiver does not recognize the signal. Could there be an issues with difference frequencies between the emitter and the receiver?
Above your head gives you a bit more spatial awareness, since it’s a more discrete third dimension you’re adding. BUT...putting them above the TV angled towards you gives you the “wall of sound,” which gives you the illusion that your TV is massive. Both are rad. 😀👍
My subwoofer has + and - connection like a speaker only. And the a/v receiver is subwoofer pre-out RCA (purple color). how do I connect this with what cable? :(
Dude, I’m three minutes in and you’ve already taught me so much. Just want to say thank you already!! Idk if you still pay attention here, but if you’re setting up wireless speakers in the “surround” channel, how do you connect those? Would they just pair with the receivers Bluetooth? I’m very rookie here.
The receiver would have to support wireless speakers to make it work. The only ones I’m aware of that support it (at the moment) are the latest Sony receivers, being able to use either the SA-RS3S or SA-RS5 speakers with it.
@ okay good to know! Thank you for that information. And since you’re here, I heard the Xbox series x doesn’t work with this receiver. Do you have any insight on that?
Any pros/cons to to plugging all hdmi cables into receiver theme one from the “out” to the tv vs all connected to the tv the tv and receiver connected via arc? As in, if your equipment is capable of both, is there still a reason to do one way or the other?
Just depends on your situation. Example: I have a media closet somewhat away from my TV, so I plug my Switch directly into my TV for a more direct connection to the Joycon controllers. Also, if you have a PS5 or XBOX Series X - since receivers have had HDMI 2.1/4K @ 120Hz problems - plugging that directly into the TV bypasses any issues like that. Otherwise, it’s usually fine to plug everything into a receiver. 👍
Hi Ealan, what can you suggest speaker wire Brand and Gauge? I have no Idea what to buy. And lastly I got my Klipsch 5.1 in Costco, so what Receiver can you suggest my budget is around 400$ to 500$
You can get away with 16 gauge speaker wire, but 14 is more robust (and thicker), so it will last you longer. Here’s a link on Amazon - amzn.to/3lxpvJy As far as a receiver, do you have a Costco membership? They just released the Onkyo TX-NR6050 which is 8K/HDMI 2.1, so nice and future proof. Or they also sell the Denon s760h which is equally as great. If not Costco, the Sony DH790, Yamaha RX-V6A, or Denon X1600h, although a lot seem to be out of stock right now. Supply chain issues, etc. These are all 7 channel receivers, too, so you have 2 more channels to play with if you decide to get 2 more speakers down the road. 🤘
@@ealanosborne Thanks Ealan for the reply, I saw the price in Costco it's over my Budget, If you don't mind me asking on a different model is a good working Onkyo Tx-Nr818 for $300 is ok for my Klipsch 5.1? Please don't judge me for my Literacy on AVR stuff... my Budget concerns really tight for working less hours and I just wanna make my wife happy on her 50th Birthday and I have a very slim chance in making a mistake. I had my Sony av receiver connected to the hdmi port output but w/out an ARC indicated on my tv input but it is working , audio and video were all good
I have a new LG 657 home theater system 100w 5.1 . Afters connecting the four speakers ,sound bass is too low what can do to improve the bass quality. Thanks
Wow, haven’t dealt with that system before. Is there an app for it that you can download? So that you can fine tune any adjustments to the speakers or subwoofer specifically? Sorry I don’t have more info for you.
Nicely Done. Question for my old Denon 5.1 setup. I normally run everything, movies and reg. tv in the 7 ch. stereo mode. Voices sounds great from the center channel just not getting the Dolby Digital 5.1 separation. When the system is set up using Dolby digital for 5.1 my center channel audio gets very muddy but I get the effects going to all the other channels. Is there something in the setup that needs to change or I should check ? Thanks in advance.
Great video!!! Just curious, if i have an older dvd player with only coaxial cables can i plug them into the receiver and get it on to the tv via hdmi earc?
Well eARC only applies to audio coming from the TV back through your AVR. BUT…yeah, as long as your AVR has digital coax inputs, you should be able to connect your older DVD player to it and select that same input in the AVR menu. 🎉
My new Onn TV does not want to recognize the computer if the HDMI comes from the output of the reciever, only if the HDMI from the computer is connected directly to TV. Although come to think of it, in both cases I have connected the Optical cable from TV to the reciever if that makes a difference. I wonder why it would. Also when I go on TH-cam which I spent most my time at, Playing youtube directly from TV and receiver, the sound is 20 times louder, than through the computer. It almost gave me a heart attack today when I happen to stumble on it. I just purchased this tv yesterday. My previous TV was able to recognize the computer either way. The previous TV had one HDMI. and this one has 4 but that just gives you 4 HDMI options. My reciever has 4 hdmi input.

@@Zero-mugi Yeah, if you’re talking about the same Klipsch 5.1 Reference Theater Pack, that needs to be powered by a receiver and connected by speaker wires. It’s not wireless or meant to plug directly into a PC like a Logitech surround sound system. Sorry.

I don’t have a video, but I can tell you that I had to go up into the attic, find the space between studs where I needed to go, drilled a hole into the 2x4 at the top (where the ceiling meets the wall) then snaked wire down, pulled it through the hole in the wall next to where the speaker would be mounted. 👍
Do you have a recommendation on what frequency I should set my satellites speakers and subwoofer be at? I currently have the satellites set at 110hz and the subwoofer at 120 hz. Just wondering if you recommend anything different for this klipsch theatre pack 5.1 set up. I didn’t hear you reference it in this video.
@@ealanosborne Sorry but this might be a very basic question, does that mean if I set the satellites at 120hz, any frequency below 120hz will be routed to the subwoofer instead?
when it comes to the speaker wires. I have a Yamaha system all wired speakers. They are not color coded and the receiver is spring clips. So it's was just insert and be done with it. But I'm looking to upgrade my receiver so again does it matter in this case how the wires get attached to the receiver? Just wondering rather than inserting the wires, just get the banana plugs and go that way? Or it's just a preferrence.
It’s honestly just preference, BUT…it sure does make it easier to deal with in the long run when you’ve taken the time to connect banana plugs on the end. I’ve run into some situations where I think, “Now why didn’t I just get some banana plugs instead of dealing with this bare wire?” 😄👍
@@ealanosborne when I got my first 5.1 system it came with all wired speakers incl the sub. That was Yamaha 10+ yrs. Now it's time to upgrade that receiver with my 4K tv. Todays receivers don't have a wired input for subs that I've seen. Just for the other speakers hence getting the banana plugs.
Also the Yamaha speaker wires are not color coded so I don't know why the spring clip are. But just having a look at the wires and one has long dash lines and the other printing. Going to hazard a guess the long dash lines could be the negative?
@@ealanosborne so I finally have the new receiver and it took some tinkering around to get the calibration test to be successful. Just don't have a sub yet. But for some reason the system will only acknowledge speaker A and nothing more. It's either speaker A or off. Any suggestions?
The best video I came across after 3 days on you tube. But my problem Isn't solved yet .😊 Could you please tell me how to do it if it is possible? My av reciever ( Teufel Ultima Kombo 20) has only 2 binding posts each for left and .right speakers. There is no provision to connect center speakers. Now Is there anyway I could connect a center speaker? Thanks
No you cannot have a center speaker as your system is a stereo so that means your sound is going to be two speakers only. Stereo sound does not need a center speaker and has an excellent sound on its own. Stereo is good enough for high end music systems and can be good enough for home theater. Before proper high quality 5.1 came along my home theater system was stereo and to be honest it was amazing.
Oh sure! A lot of homes being built nowadays have speakers in the ceiling above the TV and behind the couch that are technically LCR and rear surrounds, just so they’re out of the way. Typically you’ll want to use angled in-ceiling speakers towards your couch. Those kind exist. 😄👍
My sony requires speaker set up. 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2, etc. I have 2 front, 1 center, 2 rear ceiling, and 1 subwoofer. Just curious if anybody can tell me what to choose
That would still be considered a 5.1 setup, even though your rear speakers in the ceiling. A lot of new construction houses will do that - install in-ceiling speakers so they’re out of the way. But your speakers add up to 5, and one subwoofer, so set your receiver to 5.1 and run the room calibration software so it properly sets the timing right with your in-ceiling speakers. 🤘
Thank you but i have a problem… I have a pioneer 5.1 surround system and i connect both of my ps5 and my benq projector to the receiver and it works but the sound are only coming from the projector not from the speakers
I have an old Sony STR-K7000 that has 3 HDMI ports, labelled DVD, VIDEO2 and VIDEO out, anything I plug in to VIDEO2, the audio only comes out from the TV, not from the receiver; I connected the firetv or the blu-ray to video2, but sound only comes out from the TV, am I missing a connection or that is just how is it designed. I connect a karaoke machine to the front VIDEO3 (RCA) and the sound comes out from the receiver. Thanks for your video/reply.
I would typically connect things like an XBOX or PS5 straight into the TV, since most likely your TV has better built-in video tech as opposed to a garden variety AV receiver. So it's mostly a video thing. Audio-wise, it there isn't (or at least shouldn't) be any difference in quality. But another reason to use ARC is if you prefer using your TV's built-in streaming apps, as opposed to an AppleTV 4K, Fire Stick, Roku, etc.
🤷♂️ the three rules of audio troubleshooting are: 1. Is it plugged in? 2. Is it turned on? 3. Is it turned up? You’d be surprised how often that has saved me from hours of headache. And if that doesn’t do the trick, I guess make sure on the software side of things that you have a 5.1 set up, and there is indeed a subwoofer in the system.
Great video, I was wondering if you can explain the "crossover frequency" and what is the optimum setpoint, I've got mine at 140 but the max setting is 160. My speakers and receiver are old (Polk 6751 and a Sony STR -DG500).
Thanks! And the crossover frequency is where you tell the receiver to split the difference between a speaker and the subwoofer. Basically where the subwoofer will take over with low frequency sound. Those Polk 6751 speakers' frequency response dips down to 40 Hz, so you typically want to set the crossover frequency 10-20 Hz above that. So I'd go with 60 Hz, for example. Make sense? 😀
Make sense, I appreciate the information. that was really helpful, I do notice a difference in the quality of the sound. By the way, does setting it up higher than 60 harm the speakers?
@@wesvill7565 No, not at all. You could set any speaker’s crossover to 150 Hz, but then you’re robbing the speaker of some mid-low frequencies that help give it a fuller sound. THX standard is 80 Hz, so you could also test that to see if it works better in your situation.
I connected my phone to my Sony da555es through an rca to aux and aux to bluetooth adapters. However when I play music from my phone to the speakers connected to the amp, I only get audio from one of the five speakers. What could be the cause of this?

I am using rca from a bluetooth receiver to this subwoofer system as an input for years but nowI want to connect this beast to harman kardon avr. So i kept all sattelite speakers connected to subwoofer only and just connected avr pre-ouput from rca to subwoofer input rca. But then volume conrol of avr does not work. Does avr work fully only when all speakers connected to avr’s speaker jacks?
I have mine all set up but I'm still not getting sound through my speakers. I have it on the right seeing on my Samsung TV. It keeps saying that the anynet can't connect.
It’s possible, with some clever techniques to hide wires. Or you could even have a nice 3.0 setup with a 5 channel receiver with room to expand down the road. 🤷♂️
@@ealanosborne thanks! I was planning on doing bookshelfs on end tables beside couch (is that a good placement?) and running wire under my rug and up the back of media stand. But 3.0 sounds good for now.
Nice video and explanation. I just ordered my Klipsch 5.1 , do i need to absolutely pair it with a receiver? If not , how does the set up sound by itself ?
Yes, the Klipsch Reference Theater Pack is a set of passive speakers, meaning they can’t power themselves, and need to be powered by a receiver (connected via speaker wire). Sony STR-DH590, Denon S650H are good 5.1 channel baseline receivers. 👍
I have done everything as it should be, but when i turn volume up or music gets high volume, the receiver says “protection” and shuts down. I have Sony STR-DH520

I was thinking about using the back left or front right floorstanding speakers jbl stage A190 as a center? And use surround L/R for both my jbl A135c center speakers. Do you have any suggestions that may help
To be honest, speakers are speakers, so you can put whatever you want in whichever position you want if it looks fine or isn’t blocking anything or intrusive. It’s the calibration of those speakers to your listening position that’s most important, so all the audio arrives at your listening position when it’s supposed to (like after running Audyssey room correction with your X1700H). That being said, I’d stick with the A135c speakers on either side of the TV for symmetry and aesthetics. And I’d probably use one of your floor standing speakers as a center channel, as long as it doesn’t block the TV at all. The other 2 floor standing speakers could be good for your side surrounds, and the bookshelf speakers as surround backs. 👍
@ealanosborne I have managed to set them all up and has sound from all speakers through my tv but when I try the xbox, only my front L/R speakers are working any ideas pal ?
@@cloud9438 I guess start by double checking the audio output within the XBOX's settings. Make sure it's set to some sort of multichannel output, like 7.1, which I'm pretty sure is the configuration you're rocking when you described your layout to me.

Hey Ealan, Just getting into all this Dolby Atmos and just purchased 7.2 Denon AVR. I have a question. My Sony Bravia (8 yrs old) does not have an ARC HDMI input. Will this affect the 7.2 sound output? If so is there way of getting around this? Luv your vlogs thx!
It just means you won’t be able to have sound go from your TV to the Denon via HDMI, if you frequently use the smart apps directly from your TV (Netflix, Hulu, etc). But you can still get 5.1 surround playing from your TV to the Denon via Optical/Toslink, which your TV should definitely have an output labeled as such. But if you have all your entertainment components plugged directly into the Denon, and you don’t use your TVs smart apps, then having ARC doesn’t matter. 👍
@@ealanosborneSo in order to have 7.2 Dolby Atmos I will need ARC? Or will that require eARC? Thank you for responding so quickly and appreciate any information.
@@mikebass2700 Anything Atmos will require eARC, but again that’s only if you’re using your TV apps. If everything is hooked up into the Denon, no need to worry about eARC. 👍

The Klipsch instruction manual says to use 18-gauge or larger speaker wire but the product you linked to in the description only has 14 and 16-gauge options. Does the gauge matter at all?
Thicker gauge will last longer, and is stronger. But for those terminals, I’d actually go with 16-gauge. The spring loaded binding posts have pretty small holes, so 16-gauge will fit better. 🤘

I usually go with whichever is the newer component that has more features. If it’s an older AVR, but your TV is brand new, I’d plug everything into the TV and use ARC/eARC. But if your AVR is new and has all the bells & whistles (gaming features, 4K/120Hz support, 3D video pass through, 4K up scaling, etc) then it’s fine to plug everything into the AVR. 👍

And btw it SUCKS that it doesn't pass through HDR.........
A Sony rep said I could connect my Sony soundbar HT-MT 300/301 to the sony STR-DH590 for more juice in my sound is this true? Would that work?
Thanks. What are your thoughts on Sony HT-A9 soundbar system?
Hey Ellen just a quick question, can I somehow hook up a pair of powered speakers as well as passive speakers to my 5.1 receiver, just curious… thanks!!
No, unfortunately. As far as I know, I don’t think there are any consumer powered speakers that can have their internal amp bypassed, to be integrated into a home theater systems. I wish you could, though! 😄
Well deserved "like" on a video. The video is as entertaining as it is very informative about the subject. Thank you so much.
Awww, thanks so much! 😊
I have the klipsch reference pack and the yamaha v385, and the sub is connected wirelessly. My question is where should i set the crossover/low pass knob?
120 Hz, since the Theater Pack satellites only reproduce sounds down to 110 Hz. So the sub will fill in the rest. 🤘
@@ealanosborne thanks!
Question can you use banana plugs on the speakers. Also what do you use to wall mount them?
If you wanted to add two atmos speakers where would you place them above you to closer to the tv angled towards you?
Above your head gives you a bit more spatial awareness, since it’s a more discrete third dimension you’re adding. BUT...putting them above the TV angled towards you gives you the “wall of sound,” which gives you the illusion that your TV is massive. Both are rad. 😀👍
@@ealanosborne again thanks for the quick response setting your 1500 atmos system keep it up man enjoying it all

It's ok to connect 3ohms speakers to 4 ohms amplifier?
Here’s a link on Amazon -

As far as a receiver, do you have a Costco membership? They just released the Onkyo TX-NR6050 which is 8K/HDMI 2.1, so nice and future proof. Or they also sell the Denon s760h which is equally as great. If not Costco, the Sony DH790, Yamaha RX-V6A, or Denon X1600h, although a lot seem to be out of stock right now. Question for my old Denon 5.1 setup.
I normally run everything, movies and reg. tv in the 7 ch. stereo mode. Voices sounds great from the center channel just not getting the Dolby Digital 5.1 separation.

Can you show a video as to how you ran your speaker wire behind the wall?
I’d set them both to 120 Hz. I know the satellite speakers can go down to 110Hz, but a little buffer of 10Hz is good to have. 👍
@@ealanosborne Sorry but this might be a very basic question, does that mean if I set the satellites at 120hz, any frequency below 120hz will be routed to the subwoofer instead?
@@warrior15r correct. So the subwoofer handles all the low-end audio, since those little satellites can’t go that low at all. 👍

when it comes to the speaker wires.
@@toner37 It doesn’t make a difference, really. Just as long as you connect them the same on the AVR and the speaker, they’ll be good. 👍

Hi, can the rear surround speakers be ceiling speakers?

Also, I connect a karaoke machine to the VIDEO2 (RCA/composite) and the sound comes out from the receiver. Thanks again.
So whats's the real difference to using arc vs all plugged into the tv?
I would typically connect things like an XBOX or PS5 straight into the TV, since most likely your TV has better built-in video tech as opposed to a garden variety AV receiver. So it's mostly a video thing. Audio-wise, it there isn't (or at least shouldn't) be any difference in quality. But another reason to use ARC is if you prefer using your TV's built-in streaming apps, as opposed to an AppleTV 4K, Fire Stick, Roku, etc.
@@ealanosborne Thanks again man
Why does my subwoofer not make any sound, I have the same setup you have but with a 590 instead
Perfect! This will be my task this week once my Klipsch 5.1 system arrives, so excited!

I was thinking about using the back left or front right floorstanding speakers jbl stage A190 as a center? And use surround L/R for both my jbl A135c center speakers.

Hi Ealan! I just recently purchased the Klipsch Reference Theater Pack and a Sony STRDH790 and realized that I need speaker wire.
@@ealanosborne Thank you so much Ealan! Appreciate it! Love the channel btw!
@@ealanosborne It’s alive! It all arrived yesterday and I just finished connecting everything about an hour ago. I don’t have a TV yet (arriving tomorrow) so I’ll calibrate it then, but it sounds so good already! I watched this same video multiple times to make it through the entire process. Thanks so much for this video, all your other cool content and for the Amazon links you provided so I knew what to buy!
@@wmfan19 Hooraaaaay! Congrats, dude! 🙌🎉🍾
The lower the guage number, the thicker the cable. I don't think he was clear on that when he answered you.
DOES IT NEED TO BE GROUNDED?
What’s your rule of thumb for receiver power vs speaker wattage? Always want the receiver to have more power than the speakers are rated for yes?
Generally, you’ll want to choose a receiver that’s rated to handle more power than what your speakers can handle. You want that head room to allow for any sudden peaks that might happen. But it’s not all about power ratings. Here’s a helpful article about all the factors to take into consideration concerning your home theater -

Loved the video, very helpful! I need the name of this song, please!
You're very welcome! And do you mean you need the name of the background music song? If so, I wrote that too! :) It's called "She Stops for No One." Here is a link to the album -

mine doesnt have hdmi what do i do?
Hmmm…at this point, I’d probably invest in a newer 5.1 receiver. The Sony STR-DH590 is about $300. Or maybe an HDMI audio extractor from OREI
Thank you for making such a useful and easy to follow video.
You’re welcome! 😁🤘
So no need for an amp?
Not with your typical AV receiver, no. They will have amps inside to power your speakers.
This was perfect. Thank you!
You’re welcome!!
On step 5. What method do you prefer? 1st or 2nd?
I usually go with whichever is the newer component that has more features. If it’s an older AVR, but your TV is brand new, I’d plug everything into the TV and use ARC/eARC. But if your AVR is new and has all the bells & whistles (gaming features, 4K/120Hz support, 3D video pass through, 4K up scaling, etc) then it’s fine to plug everything into the AVR. 👍
Brilliantly explained
Thank you very much!
0:45 you said speager wire incorrectly!
Haha! Whoops! 😄
This is YOUR daily dose of 5.1 set up...
