NEW - 1437 Jon Boat Build:
Foam in a boat is just a waste of money. All you need is a good billige pump. Enjoy your videos, thanks. I rebuilt a 37 year old Monark boat last year using some of your ideas.
Handy tip. You can buy the cheapest ply. You will just need to buy some PVA glue mix it with water and roll a couple off coats all over it. The PVA will become a sealant for the ply. My last punt i did this and that was 6yrs ago and the woods still as it was when installed. Ive also found in Australia aluminum right angle is very very expensive so i substitute it with galvanised 40x40 right angle and painted it with rustolium paint it has withheld the elements really well and is alof cheaper. For instances aluminium 3mt lengths are 60$ compared to 10$ for the galvanised lengths. Just use stainless sleel pop rivets. Yes the galvanised steel is a little heavier but nothing extreme was around a kilo extra weight in the end.. small little tips ive found over the years
cut up pool noodles on the sides stops it from getting scuffed up
I have used the velcro to attach my floor twice on my old jon. Worked great with carpet, then hydroturf. Easy for cleaning and changing. Sides on boat do not come off easy, so those stayed. FYI.
I put that kind in my 2001 bass tracker 165…. Took out all that old waterlogged foam and replaced it with that kind
what kind of foam do you use for under the existing seats
Quick question for you. I have a 1648 jon boat with a 40hp merc and about 6 different electricals (fish finder, trolling motor, lights etc). I have 2 dual purpose batteries and a deep cycle battery. Would I be able to run the 1 dual purpose battery for all my needs? Have a dual purpose battery as my cranking and use the deep cycle? Run 2 dual purpose? I wanna find a usage for these rather than drop more money on another battery and have 2 batteries for waste
How do you fasten the floor to the boat?
what cuts should i be asking for the plywood?
is the middle of the plywood weaker in the middle from it not being absolutely flat on the boat bottom. i didn’t know if the hole saw cuts was a little deeper would it be better ?
My boat is a semi V
Where can I get that pink foam thing and what is it called?
How do u know we're to drill with hole saw for ribs
Like what you are doing, I have same boat, need help
What kind of paint did you use on the inside of you boat.
I never understood why you guys never talk about what ply wood you exactly have
