This entire clip is perfect. An absolutely beautiful child with a flower crown and long white dress singing this incredibly gorgeous melancholy song in a divinely inspired voice accompanied by s mournful guitar offering the barest of accompaniments . She looks and sounds like an angel - or a fairy princess. It doesn't look real. It was game over for me when I saw this.

I've listened to this video at least 30-40 times and she still puts me in tears. Remember she isn't just a singer she is also an arranger. I'm guessing it was her idea to have just a guitar player. Angelina likes the subdued feel of a single instrument accompaniment. This competition was over after she sang her audition. The final nail was driven in by her abilities to sing another Billie Holiday song, ' I'm A Fool To Want You' after she sang this song which with out bending time/space, or tearing it up. Sometimes I am at a loss for words to describe what I think happens when she creates. I know what I feel when I hear her do things with a song. So I say let's acknowledge genius and enjoy it.

What I think is that the contrast of the lyrics and her innocence is just crawling into me and mess me up
The importance of this performance is that it shows that Angelina produces the sounds that she wants, and has since the first performance of Gloomy Sunday when she reproduced the Sound of Billie Holliday with distinct changes with influences by Ella Fitzgerald. Angelina can sound however she wants, and is only limited by her creativity.
This was my introduction to Angelina some 4 years ago. My life changed that day.
Seven years ago I clicked on her audition for Norway's got talent....life altered.

I don't know what it is about her voice that is so captivating but I haven't been able to go one day without listening to her sing. Ive heard many different styles of music, my parents....country..the king Johnny cash and the queen Tammy wynette, gentlemen jim reeves, the statler brothers.... and many more! ..i also have eight other brothers and sisters ahead of me ! So i was thankfully exposed to a wide range of music! Its so nice and a blessing to have found this young future superstar! Have you heard the story of why she always sings barefoot? Short version...she was six years old and saw a little poor girl selling thing’s, the little girl admired Angelina’s shoes. Angelina took them off and gave them to her and promised she would never wear shoes again when she sang until every child in the world had shoes. She is an incredible Humanitarian, giving to many charities, and she is so very humble. I just love her so much. Angelina is the queen of understated performances and that is a high compliment. I am always amazed by Angelina’s uncanny ability to fully understand the mature subject matter of the lyrics and then concisely interpret their meaning. The subtle nuances, voice inflection, vibrato, staccato, perfectly sustained notes, the full palate of colors and textures, her incredible vocal range and her hyper awareness of the emotion and soul of the song is unequaled for someone so young. There are 30 and forty something singers that can only dream of doing what comes easily and naturally to Angelina.
Some songs seem to be sad! But she sings them so beautiful.
As a 54 year man! When I hear young girl sing painful songs, perceived sensual songs, it can make me feel a bit uncomfortable. But with Angelina I don’t feel like that, I’m just completely immersed..... amazing

I listened to this song million of time since the 70's but when I heard Angelina sang 3 years ago, it was the first time she send chill to my bones and tear to my eyes.
this has to be thee boldest and most courageous song choice for a competition ever and to not only make that choice but to also perform it with such confidence speaks mountains to her strength of character.
I totally agree. She walks out while the song is already in progress, delivers a masterpiece singing barely above a conversational volume, and she's riveting. It's almost like she lifted one little bare foot and stomped it down on the stage, sending reverberations throughout, Hello World, here I am, and I'm not even trying. This was the 2nd song I ever heard her sing (in 2014), and I remember being slack-jawed. And as Mike McDevitt says below, my life changed that day.
Lyrics wise I find Gloomy Sunday to be an even bolder choice. :)

"Bang, Bang" was written in 1966 by Sony Bono for his then wife Cher. Her upbeat version was a big hit. Later that same year (seems strange) Nancy Sinatra sang a much slower version accompanied by just a guitar, and she had an even bigger hit. It was then included in "Kill Bill" and became popular again. Angelina is covering Nancy's version. And for me, this little 8 year old performs it best of all. Considering all the times I've listened to her sing it, it still amazes me that she can perform this song at this level. After this performance, there was no doubt that she would win this competition. She ended up getting almost half (46%) of the votes; which left all the other acts to divvy up the remaining 54%. Of course, we know that she nailed "Summertime" also. And A-Star is born (sorry about that, I couldn't resist). As always Soul, your AJ reactions are great. 😊💕
You may be interested to know that Angelina is in the process of signing with Republic records as their number one priority new artist! This is a huge landmark and we all knew it was coming eventually. This label also has Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Ariana grande, Jonas Brothers and more. We hear that she is generally signing on her own terms meaning a good deal of freedom.
Any record executive who tried to stand in her way, wouldn't last long
I think her family, who have done everything right up too now, would not have let her down. Having been mesmerized by everything I heard her sing anyone connected to the record label would be crazy to try and do anything other than give her 100% support to do whatever she wants. She is perfection and to do anything to alter her would be a career ender for anyone silly enough to try.
I think she will set a new Standard of singing. she will be a Trendsetter and many other singer will follow her. And her Label have to see these Chance. We will see 😍🌄🌅

Really stunning cover version. I think the key is not only the voice, but also the narrative style. By slowing down a song, she is able to give every word its true meaning. This way this (and other) song becomes more a sad story, told by a very young Angelina. I also don't believe Angelina could be covered by other more accomplished (famous) stars - because she just comes across authentic in these covers, and I doubt older, matured singers could give the same impression. Certainly my favourite version of this song, and one of AJs best overall !!

Soul, It just amazes me how someone so young can understand, feel and interpret the adult subject matter of the lyrics. Seven year old Angelina deftly conveyed the subtle nuances of the songs intended meaning. She delivered an uncanny mature and professional performance that leaves us speechless and spellbound.
I’ve listened to several very talented child singers on youtube, but none of them are at Angelina’s level. Not even close. Angelina is a very unique person. She is a profoundly gifted and talented musician. We are witnessing the blossoming of bona fide musical genius.

What's truly amazing is that her grandmother realized she had to ability to absorb music vocals
