I know a boxer in lahore who won golden gloves, has multiple degrees in sports science and nutrition from US and is teaching boxing in a gym here. He's one of the best coaches in Pakistan and just training young kids. Not utilized by Pakistan and us properly. He's amazing with his training skills can do wonders if put in the right place.

let me share a very funny yet true and absurd thing, although there are countless parks in bahria town lahore, the administration does not allow boys or even children to play cricket, football etc in any park, the moment you'll go to park to play, bahria security will come and take your football or wicket away and threaten to fine you. all this to force kids to join there cricket and football academies who's fee is totally unaffordable unless you belong to an elite family. this is Pakistan
This is so true. Street cricket is second to none too. You send your kids outside , neighbor’s will come out to complaint. You go for night cricket in Ramazan, police will come out to stop you. And then there comes mass housing societies which do not even allow kids to play football and cricket in their parks. Then they complaint kids have nothing to do, theres a reason they dont go outside .
I was very good in sports specially in basketball but since there were no basketball courts and the ones which are there are owned by some government officials who don't want to use those courts themselves and also not let anyone do so. That's why left sports and now due to this im facing many problems in my health and I'm a teenager !!!

Our careers are decided by our mum's and dad's to become an engineer or doctors or some money making machines. There's no scope of sports except if it's for extra grades in academics. Investment in Sports is important. Corruption, lack of commitment, confusion, wrong priorities and lack of facilities where required. So disappointing.
Investment in sports is in the same category as education and health. Society should organize and participate in sports for their personal development and health. And when enough number of people participate you will get world class athletes as a side effect. I am involved in kids sports in the US, and that is the number one thing national sports organization emphasize to kids and their parents, that don't think about Olympics...just play for personal improvement and personality development. Because they know that when millions of kids are playing and trying to improve they will automatically get countless athletes who will be capable of being world champion!
This issue exists in esports too, literally zero support from the higher management. Players never get their visa on time, and if you do then you are a lucky guy.

Investment in sports is in the same category as education and health. Society should organize and participate in sports for their personal development and health. And when enough number of people participate you will get world class athletes as a side effect. I am involved in kids sports in the US, and that is the number one thing national sports organization emphasize to kids and their parents, that don't think about Olympics...just play for personal improvement and personality development. I know a boxer in lahore who won golden gloves, has multiple degrees in sports science and nutrition from US and is teaching boxing in a gym here. He's one of the best coaches in Pakistan and just training young kids. Not utilized by Pakistan and us properly. He's amazing with his training skills can do wonders if put in the right place.

This is so true. Street cricket is second to none too. You send your kids outside , neighbor’s will come out to complaint. You go for night cricket in Ramazan, police will come out to stop you.
And then there comes mass housing societies which do not even allow kids to play football and cricket in their parks. Then they complaint kids have nothing to do, theres a reason they dont go outside .

I was very good in sports specially in basketball but since there were no basketball courts and the ones which are there are owned by some government officials who don't want to use those courts themselves and also not let anyone do so. Investment in Sports is important. Corruption, lack of commitment, confusion, wrong priorities and lack of facilities where required. So disappointing.
Investment in sports is in the same category as education and health. Society should organize and participate in sports for their personal development and health. And when enough number of people participate you will get world class athletes as a side effect.
I am involved in kids sports in the US, and that is the number one thing national sports organization emphasize to kids and their parents, that don't think about Olympics...just play for personal improvement and personality development. Because they know that when millions of kids are playing and trying to improve they will automatically get countless athletes who will be capable of being world champion!
This issue exists in esports too, literally zero support from the higher management. Players never get their visa on time, and if you do then you are a lucky guy.
