You do realize that about half the people in Turkey have no practical interest in religion or its practice. They might call themself Muslim (maybe) because their ancestors were Muslim, but they do not believe in religion, they just don't care. I have met one person like this myself as a colleague. His hatred for religion was quite firm and solid.
