I remember the Pakistan teams from the 1970's to 1990's. None of the players prostrated after scoring a century or winning a match. The post match interviews were not laced with insha Allah. Most of the players spoke confidently in both English and Urdu. Hardly anyone kept a beard. The religious fanaticism which started infecting the country during Zia's reign had to infect sports eventually.

I have a doubt and hope that someone can clear it. I heard from most Pakistani cricketers speaking of or using the almighty Allah's name often in their interviews or wherever they are asked to speak. Many other team players don't do so, or at least don't use that often. Is it their way of life or taught in or anything else about it? If it is related to Islam then why do Bangladesh or Afghanistan team players don't do so that often?

In my experience what I've noticed in my life that dua alone often doesn't yield the desired outcomes unless accompanied by proactive and intellectual efforts. even if a non-Muslim expends additional effort compared to a Muslim (who combines efforts with dua), Allah Almighty may grant success to the non-Muslim. This is because Allah prioritizes hard effort before Dua. Success through Dua only requires strong and proper faith, like that of the Sahaba, coupled with wholehearted physical and intellectual effort as much as that person can - which is 99% lacking among today's Muslims. However, Dua mostly remains pivotal in seeking blessings and mercies in a work, taking happiness, peace, and gratitude in life and in heart.

My uncle who is a fatherly figure and an intellectual person . He sat with me and taught me that this is the biggest problem of Pakistanis. You will find very few people who are thorough professionals and they don’t wear their religion up their sleeves. He told me that even from being a Muslims perspective how can you even think of being complacent . The belief in god that things will go well is your faith however before that you need to put in all effort and take necessary actions . I have carried that lecture with me since . The biggest problem of Pakistan is that they take refuge using religion card to hide their shortcomings.
