How do you use the Bluetooth feature? I can't seem to find it on my pioneer
Just bought it 30 minutes ago, looks like I picked a good one.
BSM, or Best Stations Memory, is a godsend for those of us who frequently have to drive cross country. Most people may not take long road trips but for those of us who do this is a great feature to have.
What I dont understand is the older models had the USB in the front which is a lot better because what if it gets unplugged from behind and you have to remove your entire dash just to plug a cable back in? Lol

Cool reviews, i watched a few, but bummed you only seem to cover radio and ipod stuff from what i can tell. Do you have any vids where you cover USB flash drive music, Android syncing features, or any of the apps?

What model Pioneer would you recommend? I want DAB+ radio a good UI and little interface lag. A dvd player and USB input. I've noticed the AVH X3600 DAB would this suit me and what is the difference between this and newer models?

besides the fact it is pioneer Brand name, all these high end dvd players lack a lot of stuff to justify the shocking prices they want for them.
Chinese cheap brands have (Sd card plugs, 3g/4g ready, wifi capabilities, digital TV ready, built in HDD, most are gps ready...etc) and the best thing is, most don't cost over 400$
why would I pay $1099.99 for a unit that does 1/4 of the above options?

certified30 That unit is garbage. It doesn't have any HP or LP(crossover) control and has a limited EQ. The buttons look very cheap and its not very user friendly or put together well(how it functions and how the operating system looks visually). Even the remote looks like a nightmare. Its like a TV remote. This China unit isn't built for producing clear enjoyable or competitive sound. It might have more functions than the Pioneer, but it doesn't even come close in the sound department. You get what you pay for.
You can buy a KIA with more options than a Lexus, but its still garbage.
BoostedAP1 it's all good I am pretty happy with it, it does what I wanted it to do, it got all the options I am looking to have in a head unit and it is very affordable. if you got $1099.99 to spend on a unit that does only half of what china unit does, then good for you.

^a guy that opts for cheaper things. Its like buying a Jensen at half price of a Pioneer that has all the same options, but the quality is garbage. If you haven't noticed Lexus is one of the MOST RELIABLE car make in existence. You get what you pay for. If you put a 1099 Pioneer next to that 4-500 dollar China HU, you can see a big difference just in build quality and design. User friendly and sound adjustments blow that thing out of the water. I can tell just by your review of that UH that it isn't good. ANYONE with experience would know its no good just by watching your video. No Crossover, No HP/LP, only wires for A/V where good units have them fix and secure behind the double din, plus a TV remote for a controller.
The list goes on.
Put it this way, I run 2 amps one for mids & highs and one for subs, your HU would not work for clear music nor would it be practical to use,
Plus I don't know why you would come bash on someone's post. This Pioneer HU is better than the China one hands down even with less options & at half the price of your China HU. $199.00

Here's what I don't understand: If it's a rear USB input, how are you supposed to plug and unplug the cord to the back of the unit after the unit has already been installed into the dash?
they make the cord long enough so you can route it to an accessable location in the drivers area.

I have a 2002 Crown Victoria does anyone know if this unit will fit? Because the Kenwood 7 inch Double din wouldn't fit because the defrost vents keep it from sliding all the way in...

U need to go to the system settings and find camera polarity and put it on battery...worked for me
hey quick question i got this unit, on the sub section under the LEVEL , it goes from -24 to like +6, so when using my subwoofers.. is it safe to have the level all the way to +6 or would that cause clipping or distortion?
Not an expert or anything of that sort, but have owned and played around with a few decks. Know my way around a Sub/amp/capaciters/ etc. I suggest turning your amp up and toggling around +3-5, your always going to get some distortion when pushing the max

thanks for your reply, today i had some time to fool around with the deck and amp and this is what i learned:
I set the decks sub level at +6 and lowered my gain level on the amp 1/4 and the result is much more solid, harder, cleaner bass. And its putting less stress and making my amp less hot. So i suggest maxing out the deck at +6 THEN adjusting your gains on your amp, doing it this way will make you push your amp less hard as there is more pre-voltage going into it.
the sub level, if im not mistaken is the amount of prevoltage. If you want as close to the 4volts as possible then max out the sub level at +6

i have a hifonics new line i believe its a BRX 1500 watt mono amp. Im running 2 12 JL w3s at 2 ohms.
The sub level feature on pioneer decks are actually a pre-voltage level. To get the full voltage out of your RCA outputs on the deck, you must have it at +6. I was always scared in the beginning because i thought, just as u did, that maxing it out would cause clipping / distortion but if your amps gain isnt turned up more than it should be then you will be fine.
The bass boost and loudness is what will cause distortion and clipping and that should always be left at 0, i never touch those levels and now that ive tuned everything the right way there is no need to because i have plenty of bass and its clean and hard and thats with my bass knob not even at half way!
I actually prob will turn the gain on my amp down 1/12th or so
it says Navigation ready. what exactly does that mean? can i download an Navigation app or does it only work thru screen mirroring thru my S5?

you know what really pisses me off and i totally expected the double din decks to have this but they dont.. while u are listening to music i thought you were able to view background moving graphics.. like windows media player or milkdrop or stuff like that.. but you cant.. you just get the same screen.. pretty boring.
I agree, and the model before this (1500DVD) has a spectrum analyzer option but it's so slow that it doesn't keep up with the music. One thing I like is it scrolls through different illuminations on the buttons while it's on.

i will look into that but for SURE i thought these decks had a graphic effects option instead of just a basic screen.. even the single din decks had graphics on their little screens and it was pretty cool back in the day.. i remember one was like dolphins jumping and there were many others.. but on these nothing? what gives.. maybe there is a hack or an app that allows u to view them while listening to music?
Yeah, I look for cool background graphics while the music plays also. If it doesn't have it then that's a deal breaker with me. I have a small Panasonic CQ-DF903U that has awesome graphics but I haven't installed it in my car because I wanted these newer 6" or 7" large screens. But because they look weak, I think I'll just install my regular Panasonic into my car. Smaller screen with cool visual graphics is better than boring large touch screens w/o graphics by a mile.

that is a very tough decision. Stay single din and keep it basic and get some graphics OR go double din and more features but no graphics... i WISH they just had the damn double din with graphics , they would be perfect then

Kirk Johnson works with my htc one. however its a bitch since the aux is on the back of the radio and when the wire goes bad the radio has to come out to swapp cables, u cant control the music from the screen tho...only from ur phone...no bluetooth in this,....im looking into adding bluetooth i just dont know how lol
