I watched this video in its entirety and not only did u inspire me but it amazed me on how many different techniques there are. I'm a 66 year old woman who's never been in the work force nor did I learn anything about computer technology. However I've done crafts and sewing and all types of creative things my whole life. This interested me to the point that I'm planning on purchasing a Lazer computer. My daughter is willing to help me along. Never would I have thought to do this at this point in my life. You've helped me understand so much and besides inspiring me I've gained the confidence that I need to get started. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 4 this tutorial. I will b referring to it again it's to much to learn all at once.
I'm w/Doris although I just turned 60, building my craft room, and soOO happy I found u. Being disabled I'm on a extreme budget, & w/ur info.. I can do this!! THANK YOU for sharing these awesome tips❤
I love your comment. I too feel just as you stated. This has my mind spinning with all that can be done using these transfers. I'm feeling excited to begin!
You are very generous to share all of these methods. My favourite is the packing tape, and mounting personal photos onto glass, and on wood with ModPodge. Thank you ❤
I’ve been using clear shelf liner forever… *** hint: use hairspray PRIOR to printing… AND AFTER! It helps the ink (ANY INK) to stick & still remains clear
*thank you for sharing all of your great ideas!* i once took a magazine photo that was very colorful throughout, of a leopard resting in the bushes, then used what they used to call contact paper, applied that sticky side down to the colorful image, rubbed it very thoroughly like you do so the ink gets imbedded into the stickiness, and then wet the paper and rubbed it off gently like you do. i had purposely cut the leopard image to fit a mirror *before* i started the rest of the craft project, and when i applied the sticky side to the mirror, it resulted in what looked like a slightly 3-D version of the picture. the key to making the mirror project look good is to be sure to use a very ink-saturated, fully colorful picture with very little white visible. that way, the mirror will shine subtly through the picture.
Hi, loved ur idea and after just watching this video i had thoughts on experimenting with contact paper also and just wanted to ask you - using contact paper, does it have to be a specific type/color/design contact paper ?? Will the color or design on the front 😊of the contact paper affect the image or graphic ur attempting to transfer? Im very new to all of this transfer & mod pod crafts but the lady in this video and ppl such as urself, who comment such crafting ideas in the comment fields are so Awesome, Kind and Generous to share your knowledge with the world - Thank You 😊 You Lady's have certainly inspired me and I couldn't be more Grateful ❤!
Laser printer/copier toner isn't really ink at all. It's a plastic powder that is melted onto the page whereas an inkjet uses water-based inks. That's why some methods work and others don't.
Which transfer method do you feel is most durable for an outdoor sign? I love all of these methods! So great to have them all demonstrated in one video. Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I wS so excited about this video. Ive been yearning to know how to do other techniques rather than carbon paper. You are a great teacher. Thank you!
Wow! I thought there was so much more in doing transfers! I'm so happy to have found your video. Thank you for taking the time to share with all. Very clear instructions & easy to follow. ❤
OMG this was the best transfer techniques compilation I ever saw, Thank you so much for all your trouble, this was a great one, Take care and keep having fun crafting ! From a freezing Quebec bye bye !
So glad you enjoyed. There are so many different techniques. I can kind of get overwhelming but it’s nice to have them all in one spot so you can pick which one works best for you.
I love all of your videos, I watch the old ones when you don't have new ones. I used to have an imagination. Hopefully it comes back when we're done building our house and I have more time.
Deidre...You make your video's so interesting and easy to follow. Plus unique ideas for crafting. I follow you every week and can't wait for the next video. What website that you mentioned about the photo's were for free to use with the packing tape? Thank you.
Wow, wow and WOW !! Will definitely be trying most of these methods! Im excited to try this packing tape method with quite a few of my genealogy papers (& etc...) for preservation
Niice! Thanks for all the step by steps. I have in the past done some on wood and fabric. Glad to see you doing sharing. Your credit card works great, can I borrow it?😁 By the way, you also take some great photos. Tips? Still trying to see how to get it done on canvas where the colours won't fade over time...not sure the inks are that permanent.
I saw on ‘Our shabby cottage’ a viewer had suggested she use a Matt spray over shiny stickers she wasn’t happy with. And it covered the shine. It really worked good!
Thank you, Diedra. When I wanted to make transfers, this tutorial was one of the first I watched. You have sooo many wonderful videos. I liked the packing tape method, but I wanted to transfer bigger images and did not have the proper liquid mediums on hand. I thought, aha! - I am going to try clear contact paper. I used it with same packing tape procedure.
Wow! Very Impressed! This a well thought, well tutored class. Yes, it is easy to understand because of the structure and presentation. The teacher is very experienced and as a bonus is adept at instructing and demonstrate at the same time. Thank YOU! I learned a lot and will be able to do those projects!
I’ve been playing with the packing tape transfer and found a marvelous source for plant images for which the paper practically floats off. The Baker Creek Seed Company puts out huge catalogs every year that have gorgeous images. I always preorder one and pour through them for new plants to try. The catalog costs about $20, but it’s about an inch thick and well worth it. Perhaps a gardener has one you might get for free. The other thing I discovered is clear bookbinding tape. It works like packing tape and doesn’t turn yellow over time.
I used to do this years ago on wood using gel. I never had a laser printer so I have to get my prints made at copy store. I never tried ziolock bags or the label transfer method. I also never tried seran wrap way. Iv been itching to go back to mixed media doing this. Its the most fun in art making I had.
Great video. Thanks for sharing what you know! For the freezer bag transfer, it was so similar to the tape transfer that it seems like a waste of time and effort. You managed to do the exact thing with tape in less than 10 seconds.
Amazing! Thank you for this great idea! It saves a lot of money for those of us who love to craft but can’t afford the expensive equipment! Question: Can the shiny label backing paper be reused?
The ModPodge coated carrier sheet and inkjet printer technique is impressive. For photos, could be my technique of choice for best color photo and resolution. Can't wait to try. Would wax paper work instead?
I LOVE EVERYTHING I HAVE SEEN HERE ESPECIALLY THE MODGE PODGE TRANSFER SHEET DRIED THEN PRINT ON THEN ON WOOD BOARD. I WANT TO TAKE IT ‘1 STEP FURTHER & USING ACRYLIC; 0r OTHER SUCH MEDIUM ‘n PAINT THE SAME COLORS OVER IT. KIND OF A “PAINT BY ‘COLOR” METHOD❣️ ♥️💗♥️ Kt
I haven’t had a chance to watch all the way through yet but had a thought…just wondering if you have tried any transfer methods on dropcloth or any other material. I feel like it make be possible but have never tried it myself. I’d love to see you experiment with that if you haven’t already. If anyone can find a way, I know you can! Love your creativity! Keep up the great work 😊
Could you use Wax Paper instead of the carrier sheet on mailing labels? It seems like there has to be an easier & cheaper method. The carrier sheet has to be the same as some sort of paper that is more accessible. Thank you. I love these ideas.
Best laser jet printer and how much does it. Cost? I’ve. En transferring wedding invitations since the 70’s when I first got married. I the. Decoupage it to a nice board frame onto a beautiful wedding style print.
What laser printer do you use? Is it a dedicated laser PHOTO laser printer? I have not found any that are labeled laser jet photo printer. I do appreciate all the tips and tricks you show in the video.Thank You!
Wow! What a video! I stumbled upon the video and watched out of curiosity but ended up finding a solution to a project I’ve been thinking of tackling. I’m off to dollar store for supplies!
I love all these ideas. When using the label sheets onto wood, does it have to be acrylic paint or can it be chalk paint? I’m really excited to try these. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
That is great idea thanks for sharing I have a question what you use to permanent add the tape technique to a surface . Did you use glue ,iron or what do you do.😊 thanks
Although it seems to be a great idea packing tape will yellow after a while so I don't recommend using it if you plan on keeping your journal around for some time .
On the board where you did an ink jet vs laser printer, I loved the ink jet one best! It looks aged like the board and it’s faded just a bit like it would be! I make a lot of distressed art and was delighted to see its actually best for my purposes
I really enjoyed this video. I learned so much. You mention several times to “see below” for more detailed information, but I don’t find any reference to the details you indicated would be in the description. I am watching on TH-cam. Is there another site that would have the details “in the description below”?
I cannot speak to weather this would change the final outcome but it looks like your inkjet is set to making copies so as to not "waste" ink. Most are set to making copies but are capable of more dpi so that the ink can be darker and crisper like the laser jet copy. This use to be much less true but with ecotanks and art jet printers they come much closer to the modern home laser printer. In the end, the laser printer will be more cost effective for printing at the higher resolution because of the additional ink, so IDK if it matters if you plan to do a ton of these. Just wanted to add that the amount of trial and error that you have saved all of us is so kind and impressive. Thank you for sharing the hours of work with us.
I use my ink jet printer and some heavy gloss medium and I have transferred images on canvas and canvas board with some great success. Then I will add some acrylic paint to enhance the photo to look like a painting .
If you’re going to decoupage with an inkjet printer, they need to be sprayed with hairspray or sealed because when you introduced water onto it, the ink will run

Deidre, with the packing tape transfer, can you then modge podge the graphic to either wood, glass or metal besides the coffe stained paper you demo? This is a quick way vs. using a laser jet printer. Thanks
Hi, Thank you for showing us these methods, they are inspiring & clever. Questions;- I want to use full colour Christmas cards with old snowy village scenes (chocolate box type scene) to transfer images on to a defused white stiff Perspex sheet (A4 size) that lets light through or maybe use a white painted glass. I want to use fairy lights mounted on the rear of the Perspex or glass (behind the image) to give a glow or lighted background, this will then be encased in a shallow box or a deep picture frame (sort of diarama) with added texture at the front (create snow using baking soda & trees/branches using twigs or small fern leafs etc) to create a sort of 3D image. Would any of your transfer methods work? if so, which one is best?,......I only have a ink jet printer, but I would consider purchasing a full colour Laser printer at a future date if this creates better results - please give me your thoughts, any advice would be most appreciated - Best wishes to you.
There aren’t many times in our lives that we can influence or inspire a stranger to do something new. Something beneficial with their lives. This video so flawlessly offers so many ways that one can create and in these, you do just that. You encourage and and inspire with each new idea. Thank you for that. I love this entire lesson. 🤟🏼🤍
Hi there, where can I find the link please that shows special step needed to do the wooden blocks at the end as I only have an inkjet printer, is it staring at me? lol Love your videos x
I’ve enjoyed this video and all the instructions. My favorite was the “protector” liner but I’m so confused as to what it is because it doesn’t appear to be a permanent adhesive liner. Is it clear contact paper? I’m not familiar with it and want to be.😊 Do you mind saying where you purchased yours? Thank you.
I love all of your projects and it gave me new ideas for crafting. Can you use a cricut heat transfer instead of an iron to apply the heat to a project.
I must say you do beautiful work & many "A HA" moments!!! But I was watching you on "Utube" today, not sure when you made you video, there was a lot of old doors, & a beautiful window. You commented that one of your viewers asked why you didn't use more color...I agree. But you stated because to sell, black & white sells best!! Well?? OK...but even some of the things, like the metal planters, were either chalk white or black....I believe you are in Ontario?? I'm in Texas, near the coast...Clear Lake/NASA area. I'm also Mexican/Irish...WE love LOTS of deep rich colors....& it does sell...lots of seashore, nautical themed things, some white & blue...(sea blue, sky blue... nautical, you get the picture!!!) You really do outstanding work & have obviously made money from selling & on Etsy also...But you also have the tools & space...I live in a 1 brm condo & widowed, but I do love crafting & do my share of wreaths, etc. I got quite a few pointers from you video...I loved the window you did with the decals & mirrored background. Perhaps one day when I grown up, I can get a bigger place & "fly"!! Thanks for you pointers & great ideas...God bless, linda

I'd love to know this as well, great question.
Most would work fine. It will be what you seal it with Pastor that would matter you would need to use an outdoor poly acrylic sealer.

Congratulations. Thank you Very much for these technics. You make it look so easy and to try then all. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
That’s some great tips. Thanks for sharing.
What a fabulous video....cant wait to give some of these a go!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed and it was helpful.

Try freezer paper or the backing on contact paper.

With the clear plastic transfers on glass, if you have stubborn bubbles, you can pierce it with a pin or needle and press the air bubble out!
Oh great tip!!
Although it seems to be a great idea packing tape will yellow after a while so I don't recommend using it if you plan on keeping your journal around for some time .

I recall someone saying they spray they sprayed their ink jet copies with hair spray & let it dry to get the same effect as the ink jet one!
If you’re going to decoupage with an inkjet printer, they need to be sprayed with hairspray or sealed because when you introduced water onto it, the ink will run
If you use parchment paper in between the glass and transfer paper you can line it up perfectly and easily.
Great tip. Thanks for watching.

Deidre, with the packing tape transfer, can you then modge podge the graphic to either wood, glass or metal besides the coffe stained paper you demo? This is a quick way vs. using a laser jet printer. Thanks
Yes you can
been looking for something different. I am going to try this one.

Hi,
Thank you for showing us these methods, they are inspiring & clever.
I have not tried that method so I’m unsure. Would be worth experimenting though
I am really liking the sandwich bag method. That you iron on.
Me too!
There aren’t many times in our lives that we can influence or inspire a stranger to do something new. Something beneficial with their lives. This video so flawlessly offers so many ways that one can create and in these, you do just that. You encourage and and inspire with each new idea. Thank you for that. I love this entire lesson. 🤟🏼🤍
That’s so sweet, thank you for the compliment. I love being able to share all of my crafting techniques and help people along.
Hi thanks for the video 👍🏻 tip if you don’t have label paper you can use regular magazine pages using a laser printer hope it helps
Great tip!
Hi there, where can I find the link please that shows special step needed to do the wooden blocks at the end as I only have an inkjet printer, is it staring at me? lol Love your videos x
If you’re using an inkjet printer and your decomposing, you need to spray it with hair spray first so the ink will not run
Will the Transfer with the Pprotector work with the Desk Jet if you follow the baking tech that you did?
No it will probably still run! I would try and coat it with hairspray and then transfer and see how that goes but still might run . Trial and error.
Tattoos work too!
Thank you.
I actually just found the product! 🙄😊
Glad it was helpful!
Your channel is so inspiring,!!! I was looking for the ink jet link. Please advise? Can't find the link. :/

So glad I found this thank you so much for sharing

I love all of your projects and it gave me new ideas for crafting. Can you use a cricut heat transfer instead of an iron to apply the heat to a project.
Sure can!
❤️ it! Does the page protector sheet method work with color print outs?
Yes it does!
I am so happy that I ran across your video. As a potter, I wonder if you have a method to add printed subject matter onto clay.
I haven’t been able to find a technique that works that great to transfer onto clay. I’m going to test a few more different ways.
