I wanted to create a post here that sort of covers something that is not often discussed: The Himiko Overcharge Meta Since Himiko boosts NP overcharge with her np instead of a skill, If someone else NP's with her, effects that were mild before can become pretty nuts at overcharge 4 and 5. The obvious one: Himiko with Caster Artoria is basically protection for 5 hits. Team comps are numerous, but if you make Murasaki your 3rd character, she can protect the team against buff removal as well. Other interesting Overcharge 5 effects Himiko with Berserker Kintoki is guaranteed stun, Buster support Himiko with Nightingale means all NP's do no damage, Dual Buster Support Himiko with D'Eon and Caster Gil is charm everyone Himiko with Summer Fran is guaranteed stun Himiko with Yagyu for 60% attack down for 3 turns. Himiko with Summer Jeanne, 30 stars for 3 turns Himiko with Merlin, 25 stars for 5 turns, Dual Buster Support Himiko with Emiya Alter, Guaranteed decrease change Himiko with Kid Gil, Makes all enemies NP's and Crits next turn turn into -90%. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the “super stall” team you can do with Himiko. For the uninitiated, a team of Castoria, Merlin and Himiko can create a truly disgusting amount of stall. Basically, you use all their NPs together to hilarious effect; lead with Himiko to give OC to the rest of the team, then follow up with Merlin for extra NP Gen and Castoria last for the full 5 hit of Anti Enforcement Defence. Pretty strong right? But it gets better; between Merlin and Castoria you have 50% NP for the party you can throw out whenever you need a bit more to keep the NP spam going, a whole bunch of Arts cards for even more NP charge and Merlin’s NP ticks giving a bit extra. So it’s not hard to keep this infinite stall stratagem going forever until the enemy eventually dies from a war of attrition. And you may wonder “isn’t stalling already possible, albeit extremely boring?” See there’s the beauty. Himiko actually can output way more damage than other stall servants like Mash or Jeanne thanks to her buffs and her synergy with Merlin. Especially so since all those Merlin NPs and her first skill means critting isn’t an issue, especially if you put 2030 on the team. And thus the immortal team comp, hiding behind a never ending barrier of super invuln and constant healing ticks to nullify what damage does get through. It’s hilariously broken. (I should mention that with the overcharge boost effect on her NP, Morgan can do something similar, but it’s a bit riskier because she can’t get the full 5 hits for everyone like Himiko can, and as a Berserker she’s more vulnerable to the hits that actually do get through.)
Honestly it is a scary team considering how Himiko can do some good crit damage herself and how Merlin can also buff Himiko’s damage. And in case if anyone doesn’t have Merlin, you can also do similar teams with Tamamo, Morgan or Merlin(prototype).

man give her A he literally forgot the best team comp in the entire game the only issue she has is her Phantasm doesn't do damage but it has broken buffs so don't complain Merlin castoria and Morgan is easily the second best team comp in the entire game Morgan only gives one overcharged but she does damage so it's up to you guys for me Himiko is a must summon I have Merlin and castoria so one more piece to the puzzle cannot wait to break the game🤣
@@markantino2908 actually most of times 4 stack is all you need to survive, hence Morgan damage type np and party wide charge did give her edge compared to himiko. Not counting being berserker actually more usefull offensively compared to ruller. So, many people prefer Morgan variant that could end the battle faster while still giving an almost same surviving power
Again, I'm personally most excited to grab Nobukatsu to help make Maou and Nobu-zerker into the monsters they're meant to be. But I may try a roll or 2 for Hajime and Himiko. Edit: Side note, I hope that at some point, FGO gets an update where we can play any unlocked track when in battle. Cause you known imma be blasting the Yamatai-koku grand battle theme every single time.
For anyone looking to work on him, It's pretty important to get a handful of Nobukatsu copies for the coins. He's definitely a victim of the system's worst elements, because you'll at least want Mana Loading on him but each copy of himself only gives 2 coins. Him and four more copies for NP5 give you 10, bond 1-10 will give you 80, so you'll need... 15 extra copies of him? That'll give you 120 coins for one append.
@@Encephelonify 1* generally give 2 servants coins. But due to him being a limited servant that's only able to be summoned every guda event, Nobukatsu gives 15 servants coin not the usual 2.
@@einzweichschein My apologies to everybody, I was wrong. I should have looked at Atlas first, it's true that you get 15 coins per summon. This means that you'll need... NP32, I think, for the entire servant coin setup (10/10/10 + any theoretical 100+ grailing). This factors in bond coin gain up to bond 10 (but not more than that).
Same happened with Van Gogh, a lot of people overlooked her and then the following year she was one of the most anticipated servants to get a rerun. Fortunately for us with Clairvoyance EX we know both are amazing crit units, the only issue is having the quartz for both, when they are so close to each other. For me, I will follow Oni here, I'm going with Van Gogh instead because I know what an absolute MONSTER she is, even more so than Himiko here. I still want her, but I think I'll try to grab a copy next year, after the summer of nightmares (LB6 gang+Koyan of Light) is behind and I still have some SQ left.
I really can't say enough good things about Himiko, be it her design, her gameplay, her story or Tamura Yukari's excellent performance (we all know the Himiko song is stuck in your head). Guda-Guda remains one of the most consistently brilliant event series in the game, and I can't wait to see what Keikenchi got in store for this year (I just hope I don't die to Ryouma's banner again). Anyways, a lot has already been said about the super-stall setup, but I'd like to note that the "Jack of all trades" problem is hardly actually a problem nowadays in JP. I would argue the best farming setups nowadays consist of these hybrid support attackers, be it Morgan, Ibuki or Dark Koyan. And while Himiko doesn't really see much use over there, she does illustrate this paradigm shift pretty well, so I'd recommend you at least keep it in mind. If nothing else, I can see three DPS crit Servants (like double Douman, who gives Himiko crit-up, too) just picking random cards and clearing waves without ever using a single NP like it's 2015. I know that's pretty much how I farmed the event after the raids were over: double Himiko, random Kintoki, blast away.
Personally, having started out the game just a few months ago, I'm loving Himiko. She's my only Special class so far besides Mash. Her versatility, utility and damage output with 3 turn of guaranteed crits are making battles so much smoother for me :)
I love Miko. She does, however, have one niche in which she's the best, in my opinion, and that's her NP overcharge buff. Great for Servants like Castoria >: )
Thanx for the analysis! I really hope to pull FGO!Nanoha... I mean, Himiko, so I can try to test a team: Himiko + Merlin + Super Orion. A lot of stars and a lot of MEAN Buster crits
She would be a great addition to any team with Gil, he can have consistent NPs, he just needs the OC and the Buster Burst, which are both provided by himiko
i will say, she makes for an interesting party member with holmes and an additional buster dps/support despite the two being sidegrades for one another, they can work together very well since theyre both self buffing dps/support hybrids, especially if you have a servant like arjuna alter who can use all the crit buffs and benefits from holmes defense debuff more than most servants do
i personally decided to test this comp on jp and got my archetype earth to deal 300k in crit damage and 1.2 million np damage with a support koyanskaya the potential this meme comp has is quite insane

I plan on rolling Himiko specifically to use her in a meme team with Ruler Artoria and Summer BB, just because I think it'll be awesome and I love all three servants.
I think she'll be the last servant I roll for seriously before I start saving for Muramasa. She might not be super-meta, but to be honest, after Bunnyfest, I'm getting sick and tired of looping, so messing around with her crit and overcharge shenanigans sounds fun.
Just rolled Himiko today and I'm so happy I have her as getting her unintentionally is unexpected but we take those. From what little I played, I have another Super Orion who can do stall nonsense. Which having a soloer Crit monster AND a super stall crit monster is just hilarious. Thank you Himiko for blessing my Chaldea
Easily my favourite servant in the entire game in terms of gameplay. She just brings _so_ much fun to the table: Tons of stars, nuclear-powered crits for days, and if all else fails she can just go to town on the enemy and easily break a bar or two all by herself. And this is before you get into all the shenanigans she enables with her OC increase. Pair her with Castoria and you won't get hit, period. Pair her with Arcueid + Miyu and the latter gets an instant 50% NP refund whenever you chain all three NPs together. There's obviously a ton of other servants she can supercharge but those two are my favourites. I got her on JP two years ago and she's been on just about every one of my story teams since then. Oh and btw, don't make the mistake of thinking she's only good in buster teams. Sure, she shines especially bright in those, but the utility she brings to the table also works perfectly fine in Arts and Quick teams. And since she can kick the enemies' teeth in on her own perfectly fine you're not wasting that buster buff even in those lol.
Well once again the GSSR takes care of some of my worries. Got to enjoy pulling Himiko. Now will have one extra Buster support and stall key piece. Plus just happy to get to enjoy her great voice. Glad they got such a great VA for her.
I already have enough offensive Rulers, but I’m still gonna try and get her. She’s pretty hot plus she seems so cheerful so I want her. She also seems like she would be a good partner for Semiramis. Her charisma allows Semi to use her 3rd skill and gives her an attack buff, she provides buster buffs, and her overcharge boost is useful for Semi.
My main reason to roll Himiko is probably the a̶r̶m̶p̶i̶t̶ seiyuu. She voiced a lot of characters in the gacha games I played and none of them are bad.
Gotta love how almost every comment only cares about the Himiko stall team as if that's her only use case and that everyone already has either Castoria or Merlin.
i was torn between Himiko and Scathatch....Luckly, i got my Scathatch and i still have enough quartz spare to roll for Himiko and Hajime, that and also the absurd amount of Tickets i have thanks to ShishouFest and the Download campaing
If you're looking to lean into her snowballing effect, Tamamo might be an excellent teammate for her. Their kits may not synergize, but once Himiko gets her NP off, Tamamo's NP will not only reduce her cooldowns but greatly increase the party's NP charge thanks to the overcharge effect. The two will eventually get into a feedback loop where Himiko is stacking buffs like mad.
I have The Ultimate Emperor. I have the Ultimate Detective. But do I need THE Busty, Buster Ruler? No. But she's cute and she'll most likely be my consolidation prize for Hajime-chan.

I kinda have mixed feelings on if I should roll for her. Yes, I know she’s an option for the invincible team setup, but if I’m gonna use such a setup, I’d rather use the Morgan, Merlin, Castoria one. Though I have been pretty lucky with extra classes this year.
I rolled on her because strong girls are my thing, but she's an insanely strong and versitle pickup that is actually doing my story team comps some good.
And she comes at a great time cause for new players or people who like to have multiple accounts (madlads) Ibuki Doji (saber) comes out only a few months after himiko (November i think) and she is a buster servant who benefits a lot from Himiko on the team.
I don't know I feel like Himiko is actually better than you say especially since similar to Merlin her gimmick is not to loop like koyanskaya, her gimmick is to help make sure the buster team she's in delivers on the damage and in the case of putting her with summer BB and Bunnytoria Himiko can certainly work in being the one who crits out the single enemy wave that will start to become a bit more common as the game progresses. In long stalled fights her and Merlin work in keeping the team going in dealing big damage. Even more so after koyanskaya of light is out as she provides the skill cool downs. There is a lot one can do with Himiko alone as either DPS or support especially for those challenge quests where you have to deal with some annoying boss gimmicks and her auto immunity to curse and poison will tremendously helpful in certain battles. Heck she actually helps in making her fellow buster brawler rulers like Martha and quetz be even more effective in terms of damage output. So I feel like Himiko is more of a A+ tier servant. S tier not so much cause there are drawbacks to her especially because she's a ruler servant meaning class advantage will hardly be available to her ong other things but nothing that prevents her from being amazing.

Himiko makes a ultimate synergy with Samba Coatl since she covers Himiko low attack power. And regardless of random rng Cards you pick, they will benefit from each other either way, so is a win-win for both of them.
As a buster crit player I can't wait to slot her into my setup and watch the buffs and overcharge shenanigans unfold. And as a secondary stall player, I love the idea of a ruler who can both contribute to that style while also laying a good smackdown. Or maybe I'll just put her and Summer Martha together, and make foes catch Ruler hands from both the Far East and Middle East.

I see a lot of Himiko + Castoria + Merlin, but I feel like Tamamo is a better fit than Merlin. Tamamo provides increased NP gauge with OC, along with heals, arts buff, and skill cooldown reduction. Skill cooldown reduction is quite a rare ability, and I feel like it is more impactful to this comp than Merlin's abilities, which don't provide anything "unique". Main Merlin benefits: Buster synergy with Himiko, 1 turn partywide invincibility, consistent crit stars synergy, np gauge regen. This allows for consistent and high output damage from Himiko's Busters. But these skills are still on 6 turn cooldowns on average. Along with Castoria/Himiko skills. The only thing that feels like it's looping with high uptime here are the NPs. On the other hand, with Tamamo, EVERYTHING has high uptime. The NP return is a lot faster and more consistent than with Merlin (Overcharged Tamamo is upwards of 50% NP refund). Her arts buff is also helpful for more np gauge. This allows for even more consistent stacking of the Himiko overcharge boost and her party-wide crit/buster damage. Arts crits are not bad either, they provide solid damage and great NP refund (himiko has 2 arts cards for decent Tamamo/Castoria S3 synergy) This also allows for more regular castoria NPs, (so you don't need Merlin S2 as an emergency backup. You can just spam Castoria NP. Even if it spams too much and overlaps with itself [i.e. you use it before it runs out on a servant] you'll have so many chances to use this NP that it won't matter). Don't forget, Castoria NP comes with a partywide debuff cleanse and a 3 turn attack buff. It isn't just the 5 hits of invincibility. The skill cooldown reduction allows for more access to Himiko's partywide critstar generation (Merlin NP OC replaced) and her low uptime S2. It also allows for faster returns on Castoria skills for more np gauge. A couple of 2030's allow this comp to flourish consistently. I admit that Tamamo's S1 and S2 are nearly useless in this comp, and the comp lacks the same raw power of Merlin S3, but I feel like the skill cooldown reduction really enables this comp to feel turbo boosted and active.

It’s one of the main reasons I’m going for her sense I actually enjoy that play style and it will be really helpful for harder content

@@markantino2908 actually most of times 4 stack is all you need to survive, hence Morgan damage type np and party wide charge did give her edge compared to himiko. Not counting being berserker actually more usefull offensively compared to ruller. So, many people prefer Morgan variant that could end the battle faster while still giving an almost same surviving power
Again, I'm personally most excited to grab Nobukatsu to help make Maou and Nobu-zerker into the monsters they're meant to be. But I may try a roll or 2 for Hajime and Himiko.
Edit: Side note, I hope that at some point, FGO gets an update where we can play any unlocked track when in battle. Cause you known imma be blasting the Yamatai-koku grand battle theme every single time.
For anyone looking to work on him, It's pretty important to get a handful of Nobukatsu copies for the coins. He's definitely a victim of the system's worst elements, because you'll at least want Mana Loading on him but each copy of himself only gives 2 coins. Him and four more copies for NP5 give you 10, bond 1-10 will give you 80, so you'll need... 15 extra copies of him? That'll give you 120 coins for one append.

1* generally give 2 servants coins. But due to him being a limited servant that's only able to be summoned every guda event, Nobukatsu gives 15 servants coin not the usual 2.
@@einzweichschein My apologies to everybody, I was wrong. I should have looked at Atlas first, it's true that you get 15 coins per summon. This means that you'll need... NP32, I think, for the entire servant coin setup (10/10/10 + any theoretical 100+ grailing). This factors in bond coin gain up to bond 10 (but not more than that).

When Himiko first landed on JP, I didn't think she was all that good.
I was wrong.
At first I summoned her for armpits and sideboobs, but then I got NP3.
GODDAMN WAS SHE GOOD.
Same happened with Van Gogh, a lot of people overlooked her and then the following year she was one of the most anticipated servants to get a rerun.
Fortunately for us with Clairvoyance EX we know both are amazing crit units, the only issue is having the quartz for both, when they are so close to each other. For me, I will follow Oni here, I'm going with Van Gogh instead because I know what an absolute MONSTER she is, even more so than Himiko here. I still want her, but I think I'll try to grab a copy next year, after the summer of nightmares (LB6 gang+Koyan of Light) is behind and I still have some SQ left.

I really can't say enough good things about Himiko, be it her design, her gameplay, her story or Tamura Yukari's excellent performance (we all know the Himiko song is stuck in your head). Guda-Guda remains one of the most consistently brilliant event series in the game, and I can't wait to see what Keikenchi got in store for this year (I just hope I don't die to Ryouma's banner again).
Anyways, a lot has already been said about the super-stall setup, but I'd like to note that the "Jack of all trades" problem is hardly actually a problem nowadays in JP. I would argue the best farming setups nowadays consist of these hybrid support attackers, be it Morgan, Ibuki or Dark Koyan. And while Himiko doesn't really see much use over there, she does illustrate this paradigm shift pretty well, so I'd recommend you at least keep it in mind. If nothing else, I can see three DPS crit Servants (like double Douman, who gives Himiko crit-up, too) just picking random cards and clearing waves without ever using a single NP like it's 2015. I know that's pretty much how I farmed the event after the raids were over: double Himiko, random Kintoki, blast away.

Personally, having started out the game just a few months ago, I'm loving Himiko. She's my only Special class so far besides Mash. Her versatility, utility and damage output with 3 turn of guaranteed crits are making battles so much smoother for me :)
This banner is just a massive W, going for Hajime but Himiko would be a good bag as well
I love Miko. She does, however, have one niche in which she's the best, in my opinion, and that's her NP overcharge buff. Great for Servants like Castoria >: )
Another reason for me to get Himiko, as a Honkai Captain, her VA is Yukari Tamura, our favorite principal/Overseer

She would be a great addition to any team with Gil, he can have consistent NPs, he just needs the OC and the Buster Burst, which are both provided by himiko
Why I went for her tbh. Gil with all these CRIT stars and basically guaranteed 500% overcharge when running double himiko is crazy
i will say, she makes for an interesting party member with holmes and an additional buster dps/support
despite the two being sidegrades for one another, they can work together very well since theyre both self buffing dps/support hybrids, especially if you have a servant like arjuna alter who can use all the crit buffs and benefits from holmes defense debuff more than most servants do
i personally decided to test this comp on jp and got my archetype earth to deal 300k in crit damage and 1.2 million np damage with a support koyanskaya
the potential this meme comp has is quite insane

I think she'll be the last servant I roll for seriously before I start saving for Muramasa. She might not be super-meta, but to be honest, after Bunnyfest, I'm getting sick and tired of looping, so messing around with her crit and overcharge shenanigans sounds fun.

Just rolled Himiko today and I'm so happy I have her as getting her unintentionally is unexpected but we take those. From what little I played, I have another Super Orion who can do stall nonsense. Which having a soloer Crit monster AND a super stall crit monster is just hilarious. Thank you Himiko for blessing my Chaldea
Easily my favourite servant in the entire game in terms of gameplay. She just brings _so_ much fun to the table: Tons of stars, nuclear-powered crits for days, and if all else fails she can just go to town on the enemy and easily break a bar or two all by herself. And this is before you get into all the shenanigans she enables with her OC increase. Pair her with Castoria and you won't get hit, period. Pair her with Arcueid + Miyu and the latter gets an instant 50% NP refund whenever you chain all three NPs together. There's obviously a ton of other servants she can supercharge but those two are my favourites. I got her on JP two years ago and she's been on just about every one of my story teams since then.
Oh and btw, don't make the mistake of thinking she's only good in buster teams. Sure, she shines especially bright in those, but the utility she brings to the table also works perfectly fine in Arts and Quick teams. And since she can kick the enemies' teeth in on her own perfectly fine you're not wasting that buster buff even in those lol.
She's a consolation prize for me on this banner. I'm aiming for Saito.

She also seems like she would be a good partner for Semiramis. Her charisma allows Semi to use her 3rd skill and gives her an attack buff, she provides buster buffs, and her overcharge boost is useful for Semi.

My main reason to roll Himiko is probably the a̶r̶m̶p̶i̶t̶ seiyuu. She voiced a lot of characters in the gacha games I played and none of them are bad.

If you're looking to lean into her snowballing effect, Tamamo might be an excellent teammate for her. Their kits may not synergize, but once Himiko gets her NP off, Tamamo's NP will not only reduce her cooldowns but greatly increase the party's NP charge thanks to the overcharge effect. The two will eventually get into a feedback loop where Himiko is stacking buffs like mad.

A team of Himiko, Summer BB, and Rulertoria sounds really fun. I might have to try and summon her.
And she comes at a great time cause for new players or people who like to have multiple accounts (madlads) Ibuki Doji (saber) comes out only a few months after himiko (November i think) and she is a buster servant who benefits a lot from Himiko on the team.

I'm definitely blowing all my SQ for Himiko as I don't really care much for the LB 5.5 or LB 6 servants (aside from Percival)
I don't know I feel like Himiko is actually better than you say especially since similar to Merlin her gimmick is not to loop like koyanskaya, her gimmick is to help make sure the buster team she's in delivers on the damage and in the case of putting her with summer BB and Bunnytoria Himiko can certainly work in being the one who crits out the single enemy wave that will start to become a bit more common as the game progresses.
In long stalled fights her and Merlin work in keeping the team going in dealing big damage. Even more so after koyanskaya of light is out as she provides the skill cool downs. There is a lot one can do with Himiko alone as either DPS or support especially for those challenge quests where you have to deal with some annoying boss gimmicks and her auto immunity to curse and poison will tremendously helpful in certain battles.
Heck she actually helps in making her fellow buster brawler rulers like Martha and quetz be even more effective in terms of damage output.
So I feel like Himiko is more of a A+ tier servant. S tier not so much cause there are drawbacks to her especially because she's a ruler servant meaning class advantage will hardly be available to her ong other things but nothing that prevents her from being amazing.

Himiko makes a ultimate synergy with Samba Coatl since she covers Himiko low attack power. And regardless of random rng Cards you pick, they will benefit from each other either way, so is a win-win for both of them.
As a buster crit player I can't wait to slot her into my setup and watch the buffs and overcharge shenanigans unfold. And as a secondary stall player, I love the idea of a ruler who can both contribute to that style while also laying a good smackdown.
Or maybe I'll just put her and Summer Martha together, and make foes catch Ruler hands from both the Far East and Middle East.

If I manage to get her on my team, she’ll be perfect for my 2 SSR Sabers at NP5 Mordred and Musashi. The damage will be massive!
I saw the armpits, and I clicked as fast as I could.
I see a lot of Himiko + Castoria + Merlin, but I feel like Tamamo is a better fit than Merlin. Tamamo provides increased NP gauge with OC, along with heals, arts buff, and skill cooldown reduction. Skill cooldown reduction is quite a rare ability, and I feel like it is more impactful to this comp than Merlin's abilities, which don't provide anything "unique".
Main Merlin benefits: Buster synergy with Himiko, 1 turn partywide invincibility, consistent crit stars synergy, np gauge regen. This allows for consistent and high output damage from Himiko's Busters.
But these skills are still on 6 turn cooldowns on average. Along with Castoria/Himiko skills. The only thing that feels like it's looping with high uptime here are the NPs.
On the other hand, with Tamamo, EVERYTHING has high uptime. The NP return is a lot faster and more consistent than with Merlin (Overcharged Tamamo is upwards of 50% NP refund). Her arts buff is also helpful for more np gauge. This allows for even more consistent stacking of the Himiko overcharge boost and her party-wide crit/buster damage. Arts crits are not bad either, they provide solid damage and great NP refund (himiko has 2 arts cards for decent Tamamo/Castoria S3 synergy)
This also allows for more regular castoria NPs, (so you don't need Merlin S2 as an emergency backup. You can just spam Castoria NP. Even if it spams too much and overlaps with itself [i.e. you use it before it runs out on a servant] you'll have so many chances to use this NP that it won't matter). Don't forget, Castoria NP comes with a partywide debuff cleanse and a 3 turn attack buff. It isn't just the 5 hits of invincibility.
The skill cooldown reduction allows for more access to Himiko's partywide critstar generation (Merlin NP OC replaced) and her low uptime S2. It also allows for faster returns on Castoria skills for more np gauge.
A couple of 2030's allow this comp to flourish consistently.
I admit that Tamamo's S1 and S2 are nearly useless in this comp, and the comp lacks the same raw power of Merlin S3, but I feel like the skill cooldown reduction really enables this comp to feel turbo boosted and active.
I'll roll for Himiko when she comes out! She looks like fun to use. :3
Since I don’t have any targets outside of Nobukatsu until Morgan I’ll probably try and get Himiko using at most 90 quarts and any tickets on me.
