Fun fact: She's the only moon cancer to have a completely unique summoning animation (at the time of this comment being written, currently Archtype Earth is the second moon cancer to have a new summoning animation)! Which is a small nod to CCC, referencing how Kiara took over BB's hgw (I think at least). Either way still a cool touch to how her summer form is summoned, first you see bb but then you see it go completely black before it's KIARA as the card back
I remember when Summer Camp was first released in JP. I expected Kiara's card to be a Moon Cancer card like BB's, but the sudden change legit jumpscared me when I got Kiara. Seriously wish FGO makes more of these cool summon animations!
Her np normally will hit like rider da vinci and on the turn when she unleash her mermaid flesh charges and hit those debuff all of sudden she hits like space ishtar/ zerker sushi. One of those rare servant with np that can land in all ends of the damage spectrum base on the debuffs and buffs. Also the summoning animation is truly one of a kind.

Summer Kiara is both the victim of Castoria and one of their greatest beneficiaries. Compare to Spishtar and Musashi (and Da vinci Lily and Jarcher, to a certain extent) it's clear that her base Stats and some of her jank was deliberately made in order for her not to immediately become a straightforward OP Arts Looper that invalidates everyone before. On the other hand, she's one of the few Servants that has somewhat convenient access to Special Attack Damage that works against most mobs that stacks incredibly well with the NP Damage Up/Arts Up/ATK Up Trinity that she and Castoria provides in their kits, and the modular nature of her Skills let her choose exactly what she needs for a node with the right CEs instead of being locked into a lesser Skillset. The mermaid is always going to be a step-down from her simpler, less 'in-tune' Servants of the Pre-Castoria era, but her complexity affords her a solid niche for those that want that sort of thing out of their Loopers.
I remember when last new years I saw the GSSR line up and I saw her in the extra class pool and thought her second ascension was awesome. Oh boy if only I knew who she really was lmao
There is one more notable advantage to rolling Summer Kiara: she's one of the easiest solutions to the Tunguska Raids, which should arrive at the end of 2023 for NA. The Tunguska event is the best place to farm bond points ever introduced in FGO while also being an excellent place to farm QP, EXP and materials. The last raid in particular heavily favors Arts or Buster loopers that have the demonic beast trait, of which there are 4 optimal choices - Summer Kiara, Vritra, Ibuki Douji and Mélusine. It is kinda hard - but not impossible - to 3T the raid without one of the aforementioned units.
Oh I tried Melusine in JP and she's absolutely broken, free extra full NP on top of her already busted with being a 4 star better than most 5 stars, lmaoooooo....
I went all in for Bryn, but I sadly only got one copy. I did, however, get 2 copies of Kiara. So I can't be mad! I'll wait for the rerun next year for more NP copies.
I ended up going far deeper than I care to admit, only to fail at NP5 Bryn. She's NP4... Illya made np5, so did Kiara... And then I got two more Kiaras after that... The gacha gods decided to screw with me is what I'm saying.

I'll be rolling for an MLB Honey Lake CE, so as there's a fair chance I may get a copy of Summer Kiara I thought I'd see what her deal is: better than I thought she would be!
Yes, she is very good, but if you lack a neutral farmer Saber Wars 2 gets a rerun in January, meaning Space Ishtar makes her return too. She is much better at this, and if you're looking for something else and are willing to wait a bit longer, Summer Kama next year is basically Space Ishtar... but Sakura-faced instead of Rin-faced. So if you get a copy while rolling for Honey Lake, great. Just don't go too hard, since even for Challenge Quests there's a much better servant coming later this year in Van Gogh, around late October, early November. Ultimately she is indeed very good, it's just that there are servants out there who are better.

And mate... it's not even close. I have all of those servants except summer Kama (who has identical NP gain to her big sister), I know what they can do and how to use them. Roller for who you want, but please don't go around trying to "educate" others with information you clearly don't understand, because all you'll be doing is spreading misinformation.
Picked her up on the JP rerun, and to be perfectly honest, she's not that complex in practice, but she is awkward to use because a complete np refund often requires pressing skill 3, meaning you have way less damage for wave 3. Which means more button presses for plugsuit and such, which means slower farming when you could've just taken someone with class advantage. Still, she is a great challenge quest material, so I don't regret rolling her at all.
Remember when BB during Summer 3 said she was freaked out by Kiara suddenly appearing as a Moon Cancer Raid Boss? Also remember when Kiara usurped BB during Fate/Extra CCC? Yeah, she's one of potentialy three people who can take the Moon Cancer Class without BB's permission. The other person? Kazuradrop.
Honestly, I'm tempted to roll even though I have a solid Arts farmer in NP2 Rider Vinky for the sole purpose that Kiara is hot as fuck (praise be Wada Arco) but I must resist temptations and save for Muramasa, since I wanted him ever since Shimousa... but yeah man, nothing else on either hers or Summer Abby's (which is a whole can of worms that I can't wait to see SoberOni dissect when the time comes) banner is really that tempting. It's a common consensus that Summer 5 is the weakest summer lineup and I have to agree.
Comparing her directly to her regular version, they seem to be pretty equal in terms of NP strength, looping capability and skill versatility while Summer Kiara seems more restricted with her 2nd and 3rd skill but having the party wide evade witch is the best part of her kit. Regular Kiara has that universal Alter Ego class advantage plus the passive skill that gives her 1.5x advantage over Rulers while having a party wide buff removal skill. Overall I think that regular Kiara is the better servant in all relevant aspects and that the summer version is a overly complicated, high maintenance, slightly inferior version.
Yeah, they really put you into a spot there with dropping the Summer event faster than expected. All the more so with the crazy effects going on with Kiara's skills here. I'm going to roll a bit on this one. So if I get a copy of Kiara it's all good. Will take a bit thinking and planning to make the most of her, but that's fine.
Well that worked out alright! Apparently Kiara was really gunning for me this time. Got her to NP3 in a hurry! Guess she'll be putting in good work for this event and in the future!
The car analogy is pretty good, though for Summer Musashi I'd say she goes from point A to point B with the potential to give you issues if there's too many bumps on the road compared to SpIshtar's smooth road. Other than that... yeah, she's pretty difficult to use optimally, and if you wanna get the most of her NP2 is a pretty tall order for some, but if those criteria are met she's both fun and extremely good to boot. At the end of the day, just like her og, the more you spend on her the more she rewards you.
Summer Kiara is insanely good, like having fully upgaded her and played with her since her release a few months ago, and I say respectfully I think you're kinda underestimating how good Clam Palace is and how good her battery is. What I mean is that the Powermod on her NP that's enabled by Clam Palace with the bewitchment debuffs flatly increase it's damage including buffs by 20% a pop. That alone is a lot of damage if you set up around looping when it's active, but the other two debuffs with how separate buffs & debuffs stack it actually proceeds to add a lot more damage by itself then even the initial 60% flat powermod damage (which is already a lot) implies. Even with Double Castoria buffs, it ends up being more than twice as much damage than just Castoria buffs, no power mod no debuffs. It's the source of her burst damage, definitely worth using two stacks on if you want to just obliterate opponents

I stopped rollling for a FULL year, since the Bunnytoria banner, so that I could save and have enough for Summer Kiara and Summer Shikubu. I got NP2 Summer Kiara in 3 rolls and I'm straight on that 1st banner! Yeah it takes a good amount of playing with her to learn how she works but once you've gotten used to her, she's very fun to use. That summoning animation is awesome too, that and I'm never taking off her sexy police outfit lol!
I use her like this with the CE "Royal Icing" : - Wave 1: Use her 1st skill, Castoria buffs x2, buff her NP gain with Fragment of 2004 then use her NP - Wave 2: Just use her NP - Wave 3: Use her 3rd skill, then her 2nd one, buff NP damage with Fragment of 2004 then use her NP

I had such a horrible time summoning her Alter Ego version, 500+ quartz on her first and second banner with nothing but getting spoked by Arjuna BOTH TIMES. So I don't think I will try very hard for her summer version. Thinking 3 rolls max. Though I did get Kiara on her Ooku banner.
I think her complexity is somewhat overhyped. In general just pop skill 1 first. If you need NP gauge, use skill 2. If you need more NP damage or evade, use skill 3. Not as straightforward as Summer Musashi for sure, but only slightly so anyone that wants to use her shouldn't be intimidated by her kit. I was pretty surprised by how easy she made the summer CQ for me despite only having her at level 70 1/4/1 at the time

Kiara is voiced by Rie Tanaka who is very well known as the voice of Lisa in Genshin Impact and Neptune/Purple Heart in Hyperdimension Neptunia. Neptune is my favorite goddess in Neptunia so when i found out she did Kiara as well, she became a must summon for me...that and she's hot as hell xD.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that if she has 3 or more stacks of Mermaid's Nourishment, she'll only consume 2 when using a skill. You could gather all 4 stacks, pop both buffable skills, and nuke a wave or boss.

Samee man, Castoria, Artemis (spook), Da Vinci Rider and Summer Kiara all with less than 250 SQ. I'm now dreading the next year and Muramasa in particular
Fun fact: Her NP is a nuke on par with Arjuna Alter as long as you properly use her stacking mechanic. And unlike him she's compatible with the best servant in the game (Castoria) and can loop. She's also bad at dealing with debuff immune bosses, just like Junao. She's a complete monster in CQs (again, as long as no debuff immunity is in place) and also works as a universal farmer on the side, which is honestly pretty damn impressive. Easily one of the best extra class servants in the game IMHO.

I'm going to skip the banners, not because she's bad or don't want any of the other servants but saving for kama since her Banner has been pushed back.
I prefer to use a max powered 3rd skill and base battery for farming with S. Kiara That way she can kill 3rd wave. I have almost no problem getting her to loop, and if I need a small bit of more charge we have the MC from summer 3 for 10% on the last wave I pretty much never have less than 70% charge on standard 3/3/x nodes, so normal battery is fine to finish the loop.
Sober Oni, Sober Oni, Sober Oni; when it comes to Arts Servants they are ALWAYS WORTH ROLLING FOR, lol. ^_^ In all seriousness though, Summer Kiara is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS in just about EVERY WAY!!!! Ever since I saw her Skill Set a few years ago, I always thought that she was Extremely Overpowered because of how Ridiculous her Skills were, but now I see that's not the case; it depends on how you use Summer Kiara cause (and thank goodness for this) she's not an Easy Mode Servant. You need to think ahead and plan appropriately for her to be an Amazing Servant in whatever way you plan to use her. I honestly like Kiara alot more than I thought I would, and I'm alittle upset that we never got a Costume for her so we can have Kiara Lily (don't lie to me Sober Oni, I know that you'd of wanted that too, lol. ^_^); I mean she's SO F***ING ADORABLE!!!! Also, I'm HEAVILY DEBATING on whether I should Grail Summer Kiara or a Certain 5 Star Moon Cancer who got released in JP recently; I love them both, but I only want to Grail 1 of them and I Grail out of Love not Gameplay, so yeah... T.T

She does good with Castoria? Oh. Cool, I guess. I already have NP2 Spishtar and NP1 Smusashi. Honestly I only got her because I was busy trying to NP5 the 5-star CE. Good to know she's more than just a hot mermaid.
Castoria + Summer Kiara + Qin Shi Huang(replaceable) Sounds super good in my head as a stall team. Maybe Merlin, Waver, Mash, or Tamamo in place of Qin
I love her, definitely took some work getting the hang of her kit but overall she's been an awesome primary damage dealer in JP (dethroned only by a very recent AA + double Koyan + waver combo). In the last week on NA now though, I can say with absolute certainty that Space Ishtar is much simpler to use (both at NP2).
I got summer Kiara to np3 before I got a single event ce or event 4-star, that was about 570 sq btw. Having that happen hurt more than it should have, even though I'm happy with the np3

I threw 420 SQ at Summer Kiara and got her to Np3 with one Altera spook(now np2) and no 4 star summer servants. Now i'm just sitting here kind of confused on how I can get no 4 star servants but get a 5 star servant every 105 SQ i spent. Gacha just works in mysterious ways I guess. Still one of the best banners I've pulled on minus the 4 star servants.
The fact that her NP deals damage before instant kills is such a slap in the face to Saber Shiki and Nitocris :(
At least Nito has that 120% battery skill to counteract that issue somewhat. Erice and Saber Shiki get shafted pretty bad though.

I've been using Demonic Sun-Princess craft essence for Kiara, and so far it's done the best dmg for me.
I'll be rolling for an MLB Honey Lake CE, so as there's a fair chance I may get a copy of Summer Kiara I thought I'd see what her deal is: better than I thought she would be!
Yes, she is very good, but if you lack a neutral farmer Saber Wars 2 gets a rerun in January, meaning Space Ishtar makes her return too. She is much better at this, and if you're looking for something else and are willing to wait a bit longer, Summer Kama next year is basically Space Ishtar... but Sakura-faced instead of Rin-faced.
So if you get a copy while rolling for Honey Lake, great. Just don't go too hard, since even for Challenge Quests there's a much better servant coming later this year in Van Gogh, around late October, early November. Ultimately she is indeed very good, it's just that there are servants out there who are better.

@@aoikunieda5354 The big three AoE arts loopers are Space Ishtar, Summer Musashi and Summer Kama. Summer Kiara is great, I have her in JP and used her many times, but she is at best at the bottom of the top 5, behind those three and Muramasa.

It is one of the many loopers vid that will tell you how your Mushi Zerk is way helow than S.Kama, Spishtar, and S.Kiara. Summee Musashi's kit is kinda meh compared to the 3 Arts Queens. Again, go make some fact check first, kiddo

And mate... it's not even close. I have all of those servants except summer Kama (who has identical NP gain to her big sister), I know what they can do and how to use them.

Picked her up on the JP rerun, and to be perfectly honest, she's not that complex in practice, but she is awkward to use because a complete np refund often requires pressing skill 3, meaning you have way less damage for wave 3. Which means more button presses for plugsuit and such, which means slower farming when you could've just taken someone with class advantage. Still, she is a great challenge quest material, so I don't regret rolling her at all.
Remember when BB during Summer 3 said she was freaked out by Kiara suddenly appearing as a Moon Cancer Raid Boss?
Also remember when Kiara usurped BB during Fate/Extra CCC?

Honestly, I'm tempted to roll even though I have a solid Arts farmer in NP2 Rider Vinky for the sole purpose that Kiara is hot as fuck (praise be Wada Arco)

but yeah man, nothing else on either hers or Summer Abby's (which is a whole can of worms that I can't wait to see SoberOni dissect when the time comes) banner is really that tempting. It's a common consensus that Summer 5 is the weakest summer lineup and I have to agree.

Comparing her directly to her regular version, they seem to be pretty equal in terms of NP strength, looping capability and skill versatility while Summer Kiara seems more restricted with her 2nd and 3rd skill but having the party wide evade witch is the best part of her kit. Regular Kiara has that universal Alter Ego class advantage plus the passive skill that gives her 1.5x advantage over Rulers while having a party wide buff removal skill.
Overall I think that regular Kiara is the better servant in all relevant aspects and that the summer version is a overly complicated, high maintenance, slightly inferior version.

Yeah, they really put you into a spot there with dropping the Summer event faster than expected. All the more so with the crazy effects going on with Kiara's skills here.

The car analogy is pretty good, though for Summer Musashi I'd say she goes from point A to point B with the potential to give you issues if there's too many bumps on the road compared to SpIshtar's smooth road.
Other than that... yeah, she's pretty difficult to use optimally, and if you wanna get the most of her NP2 is a pretty tall order for some, but if those criteria are met she's both fun and extremely good to boot.
At the end of the day, just like her og, the more you spend on her the more she rewards you.
Summer Kiara is insanely good, like having fully upgaded her and played with her since her release a few months ago, and I say respectfully I think you're kinda underestimating how good Clam Palace is and how good her battery is.
What I mean is that the Powermod on her NP that's enabled by Clam Palace with the bewitchment debuffs flatly increase it's damage including buffs by 20% a pop. That alone is a lot of damage if you set up around looping when it's active, but the other two debuffs with how separate buffs & debuffs stack it actually proceeds to add a lot more damage by itself then even the initial 60% flat powermod damage (which is already a lot) implies. Even with Double Castoria buffs, it ends up being more than twice as much damage than just Castoria buffs, no power mod no debuffs.
It's the source of her burst damage, definitely worth using two stacks on if you want to just obliterate opponents

I stopped rollling for a FULL year, since the Bunnytoria banner, so that I could save and have enough for Summer Kiara and Summer Shikubu. I got NP2 Summer Kiara in 3 rolls and I'm straight on that 1st banner!
Yeah it takes a good amount of playing with her to learn how she works but once you've gotten used to her, she's very fun to use. That summoning animation is awesome too, that and I'm never taking off her sexy police outfit lol!
I use her like this with the CE "Royal Icing" :
- Wave 1: Use her 1st skill, Castoria buffs x2, buff her NP gain with Fragment of 2004 then use her NP
- Wave 2: Just use her NP
- Wave 3: Use her 3rd skill, then her 2nd one, buff NP damage with Fragment of 2004 then use her NP

I had such a horrible time summoning her Alter Ego version, 500+ quartz on her first and second banner with nothing but getting spoked by Arjuna BOTH TIMES. So I don't think I will try very hard for her summer version. Thinking 3 rolls max.

I think her complexity is somewhat overhyped. In general just pop skill 1 first. If you need NP gauge, use skill 2. If you need more NP damage or evade, use skill 3. Not as straightforward as Summer Musashi for sure, but only slightly so anyone that wants to use her shouldn't be intimidated by her kit. I was pretty surprised by how easy she made the summer CQ for me despite only having her at level 70 1/4/1 at the time
I have been waiting for her for years. Now is my time to shine!

There’s currently a bug with Summer Kiara.
Where she “deals additional damage to enemies based on mental debuffs on self” instead of debuff on the enemies.
The team comp I'm planning for is Ms. Kyrielight, Ms. Sessyoin and Mr. Andersen
I'm sad he'll have to put up with her but I can at least put Mash between the two

Kiara is voiced by Rie Tanaka who is very well known as the voice of Lisa in Genshin Impact and Neptune/Purple Heart in Hyperdimension Neptunia. Neptune is my favorite goddess in Neptunia so when i found out she did Kiara as well, she became a must summon for me...that and she's hot as hell xD.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that if she has 3 or more stacks of Mermaid's Nourishment, she'll only consume 2 when using a skill. You could gather all 4 stacks, pop both buffable skills, and nuke a wave or boss.
My waifu is almost here. Gonna see if I can pull her and pair her with Castoria for looping shenanigans.

Fun fact: Her NP is a nuke on par with Arjuna Alter as long as you properly use her stacking mechanic. And unlike him she's compatible with the best servant in the game (Castoria) and can loop. She's also bad at dealing with debuff immune bosses, just like Junao. She's a complete monster in CQs (again, as long as no debuff immunity is in place) and also works as a universal farmer on the side, which is honestly pretty damn impressive. Easily one of the best extra class servants in the game IMHO.

I don’t have an interest in summoning Kiara but I do have an interest in the 4*’s on her banner so I might pull her as a spook while going for them.
I swear if I accidentally get Summer Kiara after failing to get Castoria because it's Arts Meta and I don't have my own. I am going for Summer Abby this Summer though I was for Ooku before Summer 5 because 48 Saint Quartz in the event itself.
I'm going to skip the banners, not because she's bad or don't want any of the other servants but saving for kama since her Banner has been pushed back.
I prefer to use a max powered 3rd skill and base battery for farming with S. Kiara
That way she can kill 3rd wave. I have almost no problem getting her to loop, and if I need a small bit of more charge we have the MC from summer 3 for 10%
on the last wave I pretty much never have less than 70% charge on standard 3/3/x nodes, so normal battery is fine to finish the loop.
Sober Oni, Sober Oni, Sober Oni; when it comes to Arts Servants they are ALWAYS WORTH ROLLING FOR, lol. ^_^ In all seriousness though, Summer Kiara is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS in just about EVERY WAY!!!! Ever since I saw her Skill Set a few years ago, I always thought that she was Extremely Overpowered because of how Ridiculous her Skills were, but now I see that's not the case; it depends on how you use Summer Kiara cause (and thank goodness for this) she's not an Easy Mode Servant. You need to think ahead and plan appropriately for her to be an Amazing Servant in whatever way you plan to use her. I honestly like Kiara alot more than I thought I would, and I'm alittle upset that we never got a Costume for her so we can have Kiara Lily (don't lie to me Sober Oni, I know that you'd of wanted that too, lol. ^_^); I mean she's SO F***ING ADORABLE!!!! Also, I'm HEAVILY DEBATING on whether I should Grail Summer Kiara or a Certain 5 Star Moon Cancer who got released in JP recently; I love them both, but I only want to Grail 1 of them and I Grail out of Love not Gameplay, so yeah... T.T

I love her, definitely took some work getting the hang of her kit but overall she's been an awesome primary damage dealer in JP (dethroned only by a very recent AA + double Koyan + waver combo). In the last week on NA now though, I can say with absolute certainty that Space Ishtar is much simpler to use (both at NP2).
I'm all for that Honey Lake CE and the 4*s on her banner. They'll be useful.
I set a 90 quartz budget, and of course on the third multi she shows up! Gonna watch this video a few times so I can figure out how to use her lol

I got summer Kiara to np3 before I got a single event ce or event 4-star, that was about 570 sq btw. Having that happen hurt more than it should have, even though I'm happy with the np3

I threw 420 SQ at Summer Kiara and got her to Np3 with one Altera spook(now np2) and no 4 star summer servants. Now i'm just sitting here kind of confused on how I can get no 4 star servants but get a 5 star servant every 105 SQ i spent. Gacha just works in mysterious ways I guess. Still one of the best banners I've pulled on minus the 4 star servants.
I wanted to grab her NP 2 so bad, but i got completely shafted rolling for just NP 1, 851Quartz, 37 tickets, and my sanity just to barely get NP1
