I'll be doing the initial cool-down with DC wall-outlet power, then testing out power draw with the fridge powered by AC 12V outlet on the Jackery Explorer 240 battery bank. We have used the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

    *Great **Generater.Systems** . Our 1st 2500W Champion backed us up with hurricane Ida last August when our whole home generator crapped out after 8 days. Love the dual fuel. Hope to never run gasoline in it.Bought this 2500W to parallel with our other one for the RV.*

    Just FYI anyone who runs a 290wh or 240wh Jackery with a fridge, I was able to use my 240 and run my Alpicool CF55 for 26 hours running as a fridge. Keep in my mind results may vary and my night portion was around 5 degrees (30’s) overnight. My 120watt solar could in theory with full sunlight during the day can keep my fridge running indefinitely. Its my back up as I use a 100ah lithium 12v battery as my main power source.

    I just got my Alpicool yesterday 4/7/23. The cosmetics changed. This one is green and light gray. Got it from Amazon. Mine is the 15L. I may try to buy the lid so I can make the unit a 20L when I want to. In 20 minutes it went from 64 to 45 degrees. I’m pleased with it. I set it for 38 degrees. The display is different from yours. No usb. I’m happy with mine. $179 includes tax. My 500 jackery is tolerating it just fine. I have a solar panel so I will have a great fridge for camping. 5 days a week I commute to a school bus driver job. I have to stay there all day. It will be nice to carry healthy foods like fruits, yogurt etc.

    what are the odds. im buying this fridge used for cheap, and have a jackery 240. a legit fridge/battery situation is to come way later, but i stumbled upon a good deal on the fridge to use on a few shakedown runs. sounds like it might actually last me longer than i thought with your results. thanks a lot!

    Don't have it in ECO mode. Apparently it draws more power then normal move. Reason why is it kicks on longer drawing less watts but for a longer period of time. Drains the solar generators much more.

    So camping, you can use the Jackery at night during quiet time and then power both up with ALP propane generator with 60 hour run time on a 20 gallon propane tank during the days.

    Thank you for making this vid. i found it extremely helpful and informative. i have the jackery 240 and solar saga 60 watt panel and im trying to find a fridge that make sense. The only questions i still have after watching your vid is What percent of a fully charged 240 is used to get an alpicool 20L to 34F? and How long will a fully charged jackery 240 keep a precooled alpicool 20L at 34F?

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I think a 240 with a 60w panel would only keep a small fridge like this running for 2 days before it runs out of juice. One way to reduce the draw from the Jackery is to plug the fridge to the wall at your house or the AC port on your car to get it down to 34F FIRST, then plug it into the jackery just to have it maintain the temperature since it should only turn on periodically. Please keep in mind a sunny week vs a cloudy week OR a super hot day or cool day will also make a huge difference in how long the Jackery will keep the fridge running.

    I bought the same. Looks like your. I noticed the manual doesn’t say alpicool unlike what I saw in other review. So far I noticed the loud humming sound when compressor kicks in and temperature is off.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you get your from Amazon? The humming with mine is barely noticeable, but I do believe the temperature can be a few degrees off and others have reported it can be re-calibrated through the settings.

    Can you charge the jackery off the solar panel whilst running the fridge at the same time, or would that damage the jackery? Curious 😊

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn’t damage it, though this jackery can only keep it powered for 2-3 day periods. This is what I usually do.

      @sharlainewalker4226 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you run a 100watt solar panel to the jackery 240 will the fridge be running off solar whale it's day time

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fridge will always be on, but the compressor only comes on when it needs to in order to maintain the temperature. It will likely turn on more during the day since the car will get hotter with the sun than it would at night. But yes, it would be running off the reserves on the Jackery (which is charged with the Solar panel.)

    • @rainsofhealing
      @rainsofhealing ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re looking to get the fridge down in temp with using as little battery as possible, putting ice in it would help conserve power. Also keeping the fridge space packed with items helps with battery usage. Items hold the cold, whereas the air by itself doesn’t.
