    Don’t know how deep this is, but we freeze an old half gallon jug of milk filled with water. For as little as the fridge is open the jug will mostly stay as ice for a 3-4 day trip. Bonus if you need more water, take it out and let it thaw.

    I really like my Dometic CFX55im and 25. Got a couple of the PLB40 's which I use to power them. Even though I have other larger power stations I still always choose the PLB40 for my fridges. Just a all round well built dependable product. What I don't get is why Dometic dropped their PSB150 Solar blanket to charge the PLB40. More like they didn't even advertise it. I'm in Europe and had to order the solar blanket from Australia. Just wanted to keep it all Dometic. Their solar blanket is also high quality with SunPower Solar cells. Shane they didn't make it more easily available.
    One they is suggest getting is the insulated cover for your fridge. Protects it and keeps it colder longer. Also, you'd have a side pocket for those fuses 😀

    Great video. Definitely answered some questions for me. Did you try to fit the Dometic CFX3 45? I heard the footprint is the same as the 35 but taller. I’m about to buy the 45 but after watching this may have to change my mind.

    • @NorthwestBronco
      @NorthwestBronco  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for the kind words. If the footprint is the same, the CFX45 should be fine. The only issue would be if you have a drawer the fridge sits on. The height COULD be an issue without a slide out for the fridge. I found the slide out bolted on top of the drawer system rattled so I removed it. If the fridge just sits on the floor, there would be plenty of head room for the fridge. Hope this helps!

    Run a red cable from the battery to the trunk, body of the car is negative. Now you have always on power for your fridge. Why all these hassles of powering the car on or off, extra batteries?

    • @NorthwestBronco
      @NorthwestBronco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. As mentioned in the video, hardwiring the fridge is one option. For me the fridge is something I only use on trips. 99% of it's life it's on the shelf. Running cables was not something I wanted to do. The 12V plug works fine. If I need power 24 hours a day, the separate power source is great.
      There's a lot of folks who do not want any draw on their main battery. Especially overnight. But there's plenty of people who do hardwire their fridge. This is a few more options to pick from.

If not, I'd either purchase a power station that can do that or search TH-cam for a video on hard wiring to your battery. Just go to the local pharmacy's first aid area and all this stuff can be found. Hope this helps!
