It looks beautiful. They nailed the exterior redesign! Proportions are perfect especially for a FWD architecture. They need to bring it to the U.S. and let it compete with the Lyriq. May the best win.
With the slowing of the push of EV's, and Cadillac saying that they will offer ICE and BEV for longer than originally inferred, it would be a mistake to not offer a refreshed XT5 to the North American market. Similarly, maintaining a V-6 option would also be welcomed here. The refreshed body is a "looker", and the new interior would also complement an iteration of this to our market.
What is the reason behind GM/Cadillac not making a V Blackwing edition for the XT5 ? I think they're missing out on that V8 SUV category where MB , BMW , Porsche play, plus a mid size rocket as the Escalade is to big
Is Cadillac transferring to a fully electric brand? Discontinuing XT5 in US is super weird as XT5 is one of the most popular models Cadillac has in the US. Discontinuing XT5 is insane unless they are fully confident that their electric cars are going to succeed as Lyriq did.
QUESTION: Do you know production numbers for the 2023 Blackwings? If you can’t find out, then can you explain why GM is sooooo notoriously tight-lipped with its production data? WHY??? What purpose does it serve? Thank you. Terrific Pod. Your numbers will grow, for sure.
Thanks for the question! We don't have 2023s yet, but have been working on getting them. The moment we have them, we'll share them here. We do have 2022s here: cadillacsociety.com/2024/05/25/2022-cadillac-ct5-v-blackwing-production-numbers-by-color-and-transmission/ ... but I'm sure you've already seen them. I'm not sure why they're so tight-lipped about the data... I also find it strange. - Alex
Is there any common sense in GM board meetings? Not everyone wants an electric car. I won’t buy a Lyriq. I might buy an Enclave but I’ll probably buy another brand next time. I have enjoyed my XT5 and would like to have had an updated version especially with the large screen.
Right, but the V-Sport would be a model with a hotter engine and more performance enhancements to the suspension than the Sport. In today's Cadillac vehicle naming structure, it would simply be called XT5-V and XT6-V. - Alex
Plus, China-only models like all-new XT5 and CT6, are basically the same as their previous generation considering engine, transmission and chassis. Which means nothing new is brought to Cadillac's new ICE cars other than design. This is sad.
@@Motrolix Still, they need something new to keep their ICE cars competetive, especially considering that China is Cadillac's biggest oversea market (more models sold than in the US) and *Cadillac will not survive as an EV brand in China*. Too much EV competetion, even Lyriq is poorly sold in China.
I could hear my neighbors, I think the other one was prettier! My car is alot of chrome,& it's a ceramic coated deep red. I'd gain awd but lose about 40k!
Tell me your listening skills are lacking without telling me your listening skills are lacking. Quite literally stated in the beginning: ONLY A REW PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE because of how new the car is. But hey, thank you for the comment and all that :)
I don't know if I would go that far. The XT5 is a different platform, different powertrain, and different design. The interior, however, is very close to the Lyriq. - Alex
How are they going to sell that nice car exclusively in communist china. And this is supposed to be in an American brand. I have no intention of buying an EV.
It's really quite simple: people in China buy more Cadillacs than those in America. The only exception to that is the Escalade, which hasn't been sold in China.

I love it!!! Long overdue…well done Cadillac/GM
I certainly hope they will include the CT5 Blackwing in their plans…

That’s stunning! Bring it to the US!
Shame the most Prestigious Auto maker in the US and we missed out on the updated ct6 and now the redesigned xt5 The Chinese got it good!!!

Good… I’ll get the Blackwing…

When will the Escalade IQL be unveiled? I have been waiting since the shorter version had been announced last.
Nice 🇸🇦
Possibly the same thing with the new 2025 equinox activ plus. It's in China but not U.S.?

only available in China now
There's needs to be an XT5 and XT6 V Sport! Make it happen, Cadillac!
There is an XT5 Sport.. Have one being built for me now! Should have at the end of the month. Looking forward to it!

If they want my $$ they need to try harder. My six yr old XT5 is virtually new,not paying 40k+ on top of my car for this. Give me 400hp well talk

Yup, they're essentially reskinning the existing models. It's not all that bad, since the underlying platforms are fine for the vehicles. - Alex

I guess Cadillac is a Chinese brand now
To much talk not enough pictures

Made in USA ???
Looks like a Cadillac, but I wouldn't buy a Cadillac that was developed in China...
Just like you wouldn’t buy whatever you used to make that comment since it’s also made in china
