Nice video man. I have 1 question, how often should you do an oil change in this bike but the newer models like 2017?

Thanks! Happy to help. Different oil types have different life spans. I change mine once a season at the beginning of the year and I’ve never had any issues over the 7 years I’ve had it. I say if you change it once a year you’re good to go!

Hey quick question, i’m having oil leakage on the right side of my ‘12 zx6r. Any idea if it could be due to over filling oil as there’s no bubble on the sight gauge and it’s filled to the top. If it helps it’s coming from the motor area.

There should be two lines on the oil peep sight, and want to keep it between them. Make sure to run it for a couple minutes, then stand the bike upright (not on the kickstand) and check it. If you can’t see any air or it’s above the top line I would drain some oil out. Also check your oil filter to make sure it’s screwed in all the way. Hope this helps!

Did you replace the drain bolt gasket and o-ring for oil filler plug?

Hey the oil you drained is green. The same thing just happen to me is it coolant leak? Or the oil itself?

Hey man, just ask, did your done first service by yourself? Is it hard to open the original filter?

I did the first one myself. It was a little tough since it's really tucked in there, and to be honest can't remember exactly how i got it off. I think i used some sort of rubber band type tool to get enough grip on it to twist it off. If you can't get anything else to work you can always just stab it with a screwdriver, and twist it that way. Just a bit messy that way.

Getting the OEM one off at first is a pain i agree, but I don't think it's as bad as some other bikes. My friends Yamaha and Suzuki both have to take fairings off to access theirs. Once you get the stock one off and put a K&N one on it's a breeze after that!
