  • Changing your oil on a Ninja ZX6R is quite easy and takes very basic tools. You can do it in under an hour even if you have never done it before. Watch along as my friend learns to change his oil for the first time. This Ninja is the 2005 636 and uses 4Liters of oil. What ever you ride or drive, learning to change the oil and tires are fundamental.

    It may be helpful to mention, that you can change it without taking the fairing off if the filter has a spot to turn it with a 17mm wrench like the one you used at the end. It's kind of a pain getting a wrench behind the fairing and getting the filter out but my old bike has got a bunch of stripped out fairing bolts, so it was easier for me than wrestling with those and trying to take the fairing off. And the the bottom of the fairing is cut out above the drain plug so you can just drain it.

    Thanks for the video. I am getting ready to change over to Motul today, except I bought the Motul 7100 10w40. I read up on the reviews that Motul oil quiets your motor down and it appeared that it did with your bike. When you started it after the oil change it was much quieter. I also bought the oil filter (channel lock) pliers that have very aggressive teeth. Never owned a pair before but seem like they should do the trick on a tight oil filter and they didn't cost much at Harbor Freight.

    Noticed you used the Motul 300V 10W40. Nice. I plan to use the same on my ZX6R. How's does the gears shift? runs smooth?

    That nut on the filter is for removal only, don't use a wrench on the nut to install it or it may leak.

    Is your right hand side rearset cracked where the brake lever pivots? 1:32 I hope not but best check it if you still have the bike man. Thanks for the effort with the video btw ! these are great bikes, I have a black 06.

      Only if you have a green bike. It's gotta be extra virgin like you though.

    Using same oil, but your friend has really low mileage. Mine has 86k kilometers, I did 12k under a year of ownership. Runs great ;)

    • @syfiltzo
      @syfiltzo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      300v is for 3.000-4.0000 km mileage. Seems that you changed them at least 3 times in that 1 year.. Otherwise you didnt have oil in engine, just liquid.
