    👍 good job. I have a 1983 Autocar that’s been sitting at a towing company in New Jersey for 12 years. 2 weeks ago I finally had it transported to upstate New York. This week I was able to get it started. I was excited to see it running again.

    I admire your positive attitude believing one single 12 volt would start this Cummins.

    Brilliant, spinning the turbo with the drill to get the ether in. Good batteries and clean connections are essential for 12 Volt starters. New subscriber from New Zealand.

    Great to see an old large car start breathing after a few decades!! Throw a fifth wheel on it and haul logs out of the woods with it this winter

      You can see the compression release bell crank at 12:45. I see it has a Jake. Also the lime green paint on the block tells me it’s a high torque 270 hp. The turbo is original, probably a T-560.

    O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I guess you have a thing for old Whites & Autocars…wonderful! I love old trucks, too! I grew up around many of them, including trucks like these. Ok now, it takes a Powerstroke to start a Cummins? Hmm! I think you would have better luck with a Cat jumping a Cummins if all that were true. See, the Cat has a more positive gonkilater than the Powerstroke does. You at least have a bit more help this time around. Sometimes that all you need is a second hand. I’ve never seen anyone force spin the turbo to help relieve the pressure to get it to start up. Didn’t the decompression handle work from in the cab? Hehehe! This was a cool & exciting video. Love the truck! Would make a great flatbed/wrecker. Blessings. 🤩🥰✌️

    Do you know of any mid 1950s Autocar D-75s??? I'm searching for a 1953 - 1958 Autocar D-75 with the integral factory sleeper. Would appreciate any leads you or anyone on here might have. My Dad had one that he used to haul OTR Georgia to Chicago back in the 60s. I loved riding in that truck,... great memories. Looking to find one and doing a resto-mod and putting it back on the road as a daily worker.

    Surely You're NOT GOING to suck OLD fuel out of the origional Tank !!!!! Rig up a 5 gallon fuel tank and suck from IT !!!

    • @tiptopchopshop
      @tiptopchopshop  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My name isn’t surely. but yes these old engines love old fuel

    • @williamdavidson9009
      @williamdavidson9009 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Diesel doesn't spoil like gasoline. As long as there isn't a bunch of water in the tank it is OK. Also if you use a 5 gallon can you need to rig up a return because diesels circulate fuel so the 5 gal can will empty quickly into the tank
