I made this steak for July 4th. It turned out great, and even the family that doubted the bourbon marinade recipe loved it. That you for making cooking easy for us all.
Just made this and it was fantastic! I reserved the marinade, boiled it for several minutes, then added corn starch mix to thicken it to make a perfect sauce. Thanks!
Ditto's on the Colman's Mustard, good stuff. I love your outdoor kitchen, then again with the Sothern California Weather you can pretty much live on your patio!
Sam, I have recently started watching your videos on TH-cam out of mere curiosity. I have loved watching them and have learned a ton and gained many wonderful insights on how to improve my cooking. Now, I have always thought of myself as pretty good on the grill but after watching some of your videos, I realize that I have a ton to learn. Today, for my oldest son‘s 20th birthday I cooked a marinated flank steak, and applied some of your techniques on how to grill a perfect steak. I want to thank you, and your channel. Thanks to the tips you have taught on your videos I made the best steak I’ve made in 20 years! It was perfect! It was cooked to perfection! My wife’s exact words! I’ve cooked flank steak before but it never turned out like this! Thanks to your grilling tips, I made my family very happy today! Thanks Sam! Keep up the amazing work! Jason in Denver.
Started watching your videos in the past year. My cooking game has gone through the roof. Huge thanks to your simple but amazing style! I've made a few of your dishes now and every one was killer. Keep it up man.
Dude you are the best !!! Raw cooking WITH swearing!!! Win win. I'm subbed. Legit. Ty for this. I just bought a flank steak but slow cooked it in the crock pot. It came out ok. Ima grill one this time like this.
You’re the Best!!! Marinating a flank steak now and had a feeling I haven’t been slicing it properly. Well, I wasn’t, but I am tonight! Thank you! Will definitely try this marinade next time!
What an awesome quick recipe...and what a coincidence am sitting here beside a nice warm crackling fire sipping my favorite Bourbon while watching.....thanks Guys!
wow...thanks for replying Sam and its Robbie to you.....just watched the Deviled Eggs episode with you great nieces...I have no children but do have two beautiful nieces..both University Graduates now....and when they were the age of your great nieces..we cooked together lots..they still remember and cherish those times...its all about creating great memories to last a life time Sam...and they do!...thank you so much...Robbie
Sam I remember finding your channel a couple months ago and i have to say im hooked!! You have truly inspired me to begin cooking more complex and exciting dishes. Your recipes are FANTASTIC. Keep up the good work man!!
I’ve made a bunch of your food and it’s all been great but holy hell, this is the first time I’ve felt obligated to leave a thank you! The wife even said to tell you thanks. I forgot to marinade my flap steak last night to grill today so I searched a new recipe and got yours. Only marinated 1 hour at room temp and grilled over charcoal. The best beef I’ve ever cooked or eaten. Thank you! (Used Basil Hayden’s because it was the cheapest bourbon in the house)
I'm in the same boat as you regarding being short on marinade time, ran out to get a bottle of JB because I could not bring myself to use the bourbons I had in the bar.
I made this last night for the Superbowl. Excellent!! Hmm... thinking the leftovers might be good for breakfast. I posted my flank steak on Weber Kettleheadz FB page and I gave you credit. Much deserved credit!
finally tried this, my wife and i are new to the alcohol thing, we both grew up Mormon so now that we are making our lives ours we ( i mean me mostly) are trying new things, i finally got her to let me by bourbon to cook with, it was delicious and i loved the way the Coleman's mustard is so different form normal mustard. the only thing i changed or added was a teaspoon of minced garlic.
About to make some flank steak tonight and this looks delicious! Just gonna make some fresh chimichurri to go along with it and do some tacos! I just wish my wife would get on board with medium rare lol.
Can't remember ever cooking a flank steak that wasn't to make the popular Cuban dish " ropa vieja " ... Definitely gonna give this a try ... Looks really good as usual ...👍
It appears, (Cuts and Burns) Sam, that you put your life on the line every time you cook for us. My friends tell me that I need a hero. I'll just tell them I and a million other viewers already have one. At the beginning of the video I wondered why you chose a Flank. Then came the sandwich. Now I know why and it looks fantastic. That bourbon sauce could easily become a staple in my house. I can't wait to try it. I especially loved the part where you dragged the steak across the pit causing a blaze of fire and then watching the juices flow. I have to go to the grocery store now. :)
Love the recipe. I usually make flank steak teriyaki, but I think this would be excellent. Am forwarding this to my great niece as a recipe, and most importantly how to cook-slice flank steak, and to realize it is good any time. Thanks. Great stuff_ing.
Love the fact that seconds after warning of the dangers of cuts and burns, he goes straight to the grill to pick up the rolls without testing then cuts through towards his unprotected hand. DANGERZONE!!!
Colemans mustard is a little too harsh for my liking to be honest. If you’re like me and find it too hot, try substituting it with horseradish sauce instead. Still has the kick but is a little more subtle and goes amazing with beef steaks 👍🏼
I like my flank done between rare and blue rare because I am a monster. That being said, this recipe looks great- although I might use a bit less soya sauce (unless the one he is using is reduced sodium).
Love your recipes. b But when it comes to stone ground mustard , there is only one worth having. It's called BOETJE'S. It's made in Rock Island Illinois. Got to get yourself some.
It's such a pleasure to search for a recipe and get someone who knows what he's doing and is fun to watch. Thank you. You could lose the potty-mouth, though. You don't need it to get our attention.

Making my Sunday dinner list... yup, this is happening this week.
Just made this and it was fantastic! I reserved the marinade, boiled it for several minutes, then added corn starch mix to thicken it to make a perfect sauce. Thanks!
I love watching you and your everyday (Joe) talk. Thank you for the intertaining and teaching techniques.
Ditto's on the Colman's Mustard, good stuff. I love your outdoor kitchen, then again with the Sothern California Weather you can pretty much live on your patio!
I think I’ve watched every old episode of yours 4-5 times now. Love the show, hope you and the fam are doing good. God bless!

Add onion & garlic to the marinade, then gently score either side and this is my EXACT recipe! I've never had anyone dislike it.
Glad you made your way to youtube Sam. Use to watch your show in San Diego with my folks back in the day.
i've been living on tacos and burritos since i watched your carne asada video a couple weeks ago and it rocks, thank you
Hands down the best food show on youtube!

Omg!!!! Looks so delicious thank you so much for sharing!
Tip for getting the air out: dip the bag in water and submerge the steak, then seal.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Love it Sam. You inspire me to cook better and try new things. Always mimicking little things I see in your videos
6 + 2 all your ingredients plus a rocks glass and couple of ice cubes for some more Jim Beam!
Lookin forward to this recipe
Sam!
Any chance you could talk about how to sharpen knives, which ones to get and what containers you prefer to use for spices, etc.?
That sounds awesome. Love the work you're doing. It's also a nice break from all the negativity in the world.
Hi Sam,This is really amazing. Thanks a lot for the recipe.
Those Cheesecake Factory dinner rolls are no joke !! I love em with butter and a little salt . I can only imagine adding flank steak
Wonderful!! You make me think that I should make this. This is great.
Great recipe and entertaining video.
Thank You for sharing.
Going to try this recipe this week.
About to make some flank steak tonight and this looks delicious! Just gonna make some fresh chimichurri to go along with it and do some tacos! I just wish my wife would get on board with medium rare lol.

Love this. Great job!
I love flank steak! If you know how to cook it right you can eat steak 3-4 times a week without spending too much. Definitely going to try this out!
Holy shit that slow mo editing was amazing.
Minnesota Guy dude you’re amazing
I love Coleman's Mustard. It's like the Japanese Mayo of the mustard world. IMO. Looked good.👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! I thought it fit as well.
Sam i used this recipe on a couple of boneless ribeyes! Gotta say it was the best steak ever!!
Love the recipe. I usually make flank steak teriyaki, but I think this would be excellent. Am forwarding this to my great niece as a recipe, and most importantly how to cook-slice flank steak, and to realize it is good any time. Thanks. Great stuff_ing.
Sam, "I hope that didn't bust open." Looks to see...
"It didn't."
We look and? It didn't...
Buhuhuhuhahaha!
Thanks for this luscious recipe!
Good stuff. Great video. Perfectly cooked. Flank steak=delicious!!!
Love the fact that seconds after warning of the dangers of cuts and burns, he goes straight to the grill to pick up the rolls without testing then cuts through towards his unprotected hand. DANGERZONE!!!
Hes a pro
Its like Jackass... they tell you the disclaimer stuff at the beginning...and proceed to do exactly what they tell you not to....
Love this recipe. What do you recommend to replace Coleman's Mustard?
I'll be making this soon!
The short rib tocos were the bomb at NNT.
Glad i found the channel keep it up
Flank steak has always been a cut I've loved
My favorite steak recipe!!
Im watching Sam on 5 am tv with the Philips air Fryer lol.. Thats cool 👍
*How am I just now finding this dude? He's hilarious, he knows his shit..wtf?*
Same here! You are amazing Sam!
Apparently it took me 2 years longer to find this guy!
My favorite TH-cam channel. Keep it up Sam!
Colemans mustard is a little too harsh for my liking to be honest.
If you’re like me and find it too hot, try substituting it with horseradish sauce instead. Still has the kick but is a little more subtle and goes amazing with beef steaks 👍🏼
Put the steak on a double tortilla with some cilantro and fresh overripe tomato. F* the bun!
That is why I LOVE you, Sam. Not in the homoerotic way, but in the culinoerotic way,
Marinade tastes delicious . I MIXED DIJON,YELLOW AND DRY MUSTARD. DIDNT HAVE COLMANS MUSTARD.
Nice job Sam. Didn’t see the bourbon type of I suppose it doesn’t matter what you use. Trying that one soon with my bourbon fan friends.
I add a bit of “ LIQUID SMOKE” for a grill type flavor👍🏼👍🏼
Your are the Jiffe Goldbolum of cooking .... I mean it in a good way
Great video looks amazing.
Could you make a video on how to make great American short beef ribs but using an oven, for us people without a smoker.
I’m a simple man, I see Sam, I click like.
Josef you’re simple you see sick you click
I live in Honduras and i cant find that type of mustard. What other type could i use ???
I like my flank done between rare and blue rare because I am a monster. That being said, this recipe looks great- although I might use a bit less soya sauce (unless the one he is using is reduced sodium).
When I make this, " It's gonna be EPIC."
everything you make looks awesome Sam. thanks for the vids
Love your recipes. b
But when it comes to stone ground mustard , there is only one worth having. It's called BOETJE'S. It's made in Rock Island Illinois. Got to get yourself some.
Wouldn't be a Sam cooking video without the Japanese mayo!
Keep up the good work bud.
should really do an uncensored version of everything you do guys, trust me
Agreed. More potty mouth STG!!!
Do a search for the Sam livecast here on TH-cam, you won't be disappointed. :)
That would just make it confusing, having two separate videos. The uncensored version would just keep getting demonetised as well
Dam Sam! Another great idea, definitely going to try the bourbon. Surprised you didnt add grilled onions infused with bourbon..
That much English mustard on a sandwich will blow your socks off!
That looks amazing! O cant wait to see you traveling and cooking the local foods! Cheers
Going to the store in a moment. Had to watch again for the ingredients, also your website. Best damn cooking channel on YT !!
Dude ur channel rocks
Colman's mustard is brutal if you put too much on your fork but it's lush if you can take it
Heck yeah 🤤🤤 looks incredible! ❤️
Will regular yellow mustard work?
Good job Sam! 👍
I think the sandwich might be my favorite meat delivery system! There's so many different variations!
Nice job!
So hungry after watching that - making rib eye steak with douphenouse potatoes tonight 😜
Another amazing grilling video! Can't wait to try this one. (I'm a proud carnivore!)
Amazing. Thank you
Epic is an understatement. That is a really awesome looking flank steak. Cheers Sam!
