    House music is the evolution of disco/dance music, which was underground club music. Despite the popular belief that it''s European in it's origin the reality is that house music started in Chicago, and techno grew from that in Detroit.

      Excellent post. Few people remember that techno was big in Detroit. Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins and Derrick May (The Belleville Three) were huge on the scene back in the 80s

      Nobody in the UK has the belief that it started in Europe.... we know the roots are Detroit and Chicago. We just took it to the next level.... i.e. the world.

      Just like Disco before it you could listen to House music not just in the club but anywhere, the music was that good. Of course that meant you were prone to start dancing anywhere as well, infectious grooves!

    He's Kevin Saunderson. One of the founding fathers of Detroit Techno. This is probably his poppiest track. Dude can write tracks, and he's a phenomenal dj.

    Classic mid/late 80s house music that was big in clubs and in parties. It even influenced hip hop where rap became more dance oriented in the very early 90s for a couple of years. If you like this, check out their other big single Big Fun which was also dope, and the group Jomanda with their hit Dont You Love Me Anymore. Classic house music.

    Kevin saunderson and paris grey are inner-city and a dam dynamic duo. I had the pleasure of chatting with them both via Instagram. Paris voice with his beats is the definition of house music, feel good music. She recently had a tragedy and hasn't been active but Kevin is with a different version of inner city.similar sound. Love them classic house, timeless music. Check out their version of whatcha gonna do with my lovin. Peace bro.

    You should check out “Caught Up”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” or their remake of Stephanie Mills song “Whatcha Gonna Do for Me”. All are remakes. They made them their own. Speaking of Stephanie Mills, check out “Put Your Body In it”. Big dance club song in 1979, it played at many of the underground clubs in NYC. All of the songs I mentioned were big dance club songs.

    Love that Detroit Techno. This song reminds me of my teens. You’d love the original Chicago House scene. Listen to Your Love by Frankie Knuckles featuring Jamie Principle. Anything by Virgo, and Jungle Wonz is also good. I used to have such a crush on the lead singer of Inner City ( Paris Gray). Good Life was definitely Detroit Techno an offshoot of Chicago House Music. They were one of the Founders of the Detroit House sound along with Juan Atkins of Model 500 and Eddie Flashin Fowlkes.

  • @eddiet3026
    @eddiet3026 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Kevin Saunderson is the lead guy/producer of InnerCity, and one of the Belleville Three, who were at the forefront of Detroit techno, along with Juan Atkins and Derrick May. Check out tracks from the others. I suggest Strings of Life by Rhythm is Rhythm(Derrick). It will blow your mind! Put it this way, it's been covered by a symphony orchestra, which made it even more dope! Also check out "Clear" by Cybotron(Juan). You'll recognize who sampled it! 😁

    i was kid during the late 80's/early 90's House music era. i lived in Philadelphia at the time but only heard this music when visiting northern New Jersey. i always say the most New Jersey thing you could do is eat White Castle Hamburgers while sitting in your car listening to "Finally" by CeCe Peniston on the radio. that song is a House music standard.

      @Ericjharvey yes its the birth place for house but it does has a ny sound it became adopted by nyc i was around in the clubs nyc when they were on heavy rotation on the radio and clubs parties. But house music is the extension of disco with gospel influences. Nyc was major place for disco and also jersey & philly

      wake up stop - sleeping remember visiting (and eventually moving for a short time to) Chicago around this time from East Coast and being surprised at how little hip-hop/rap was played and how much this kind of stuff was being played everywhere. Agree w you about that migration though - def made its way East and then on to Europe. Jungle Brothers “I’ll house you” a def NY house anthem.
